  1. Hi guys my SSD is coming in tomorrow and it will be the last component for my new pc build, this is my first time so i was wondering what kinds of drivers will i need to install. so far i only know i need to install a motherboard driver for my asrock z390 extreme 4 and a GPU driver for gtx 1080ti greatly appreciated
  2. thanks for all the advice guys i will look more into getting a better PSU really appreciate the all the help
  3. Not that much, maybe 10-15, it's just my mobo doesn't support 3000 on pc part picker website, so i went with 3200 instead also i got the 1080ti when it was on clearence, before tax it was 860 CAD, too good of a deal to pass on not gonna lie
  4. looks like i will still have to do more research on PSU.. i just grabbed this one because it was on sale for 39.99 on new egg and it had good reviews and the right wattage i was looking for
  5. aside from saving the electricty bill, is there any other benefit for such an upgrade ? (ie more stable current? ) i major in chem and bio so i don't know much about how the physics work
  6. My budget was actually around 2K lol your build is nice but here are my reasonings for picking the parts - the fps gain on 1440p gaming from swapping a 9600k for 8700k is not significan't enough to justify for the price gap (your part list didn't include tax and shipping on some of the items, i7 with tax costs 537CAD ish ) - I am not gonna be streaming or anything so i think I5 is the highest i would go in terms of CPU - The landlord pays for the electricity bills, so 80+ gold is nice to have but not necessary, unless it has more side benefits that i am not aware of - I am planning to overclock my cpu to try to reach 5ghz, so i do think a decent CPU cooler is necessary I do appreciate your advice tho, it really does help to look at things from a different prespective
  7. note : this is for 1440p 144fps gaming only i am not gonna do editing of any kind

  11. how much of a fps upgrade should i expect from upgrading a 2600x to a 2700
  12. Hey guys, I am making a new build maily for PC gaming, budget is around 2000 CAD My questions is which of the following CPU / GPU combo will give the better performence GTX 1080 ti + ryzen 5 2600 x or GTX 1080 + Intel I5 8600K overclocked to around 4.7 Ghz The two build actually cost around the same.. surprisingly Mainly cuz of the extra money spend on CPU coolers and a decent mobo to support the overclocked 8600k Thanks guys
  13. would ryzen 1600 + gtx 1070 be able to get 144 fps, 1080p max settings for overwatch then ?
  14. ya I feel, 1440 things (monitor + GPU + CPU) are just expensive in general, and like i am not a hardcore gamer so 1080p should be fine.
