Windows 10 BSOD Critical Process Died On Cold Boot

Sorry to resurrect an old topic. I haven't had this problem for a while. I don't know if it is a hardware related issue, but my PC is working fine now (even after cold boot.) I find it odd I'm the only one who has this problem.
  2. I've been having a problem lately. It only happens on cold boot. I get a BSOD with "Critical Process Died." I have read that the problem is RAM related, but the system is usable even during gaming. I have tried reinstalling Windows 10, but the problem keeps happening. Hard Drive Won't initialize

windlg (Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostics) can check the drive for bad sectors.

Windows 10 BSOD Critical Process Died On Cold Boot

It usually only happens once after a cold boot (meaning PC has been turned off for several hours.) I get a BSOD and it's the same error "Critical Process Died." If I power cycle the PC it usually works fine after that. It only happens on this hardware configuration, because I have another Windows 10 PC with different specs and it doesn't ever happen.

    Hard Drive Won't initialize

SATA 1 (150 Gb/s) speeds. 200 GB. I would recommend dumpster, but if you want to keep it Google "windlg" (Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostics.) You can run all sorts of tests on it. It also has an "erase" function which I presume is like a zero formatting tool.

Windows 10 BSOD Critical Process Died On Cold Boot

Self-bumping OP because I'm not feeling the LTT love.
  7. It helps if you lubricate it in oil first. Some people make a marinade for baking motherboards. I hear it goes good with some parmesan cheese on top.
