  1. Streaming services doesn't seem reasonable with fighting games. if I have to punish a move that is -3, I have 3 frames to do that. Practically, no input lag has to be there in ANY way. Even wifi can be an issue, imagine streaming the game. No, it has to be local, native, and on something I can play with. Plus, my favourite fg, Actress Again, has it's online made by the community, so... That won't ever come to Mac. And I don't see either French Bread or ArcSystem Works ever porting their games to Mac in the reasonable future. I guess it has to be Windows, after all. Or I bit the bullet and get a MacBook and just play games at home, never on the go. (Rip dreams of traveling around with much of a gaming machine I have to guess)
  2. Hi! I'm a graphic designer for a living, I am fairly deep into Apple's ecosystem (iPad, AirPods, couple of AirTags lying around my stuff, my next phone will most likely be an iPhone), and in my workspace many people do use Macs, which means that AirDrop and other features can and would come in handy. The Apple Silicon computers just seem to be the best choice for me, yet... I just fell in love with fighting games. Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, you name it. I did my research, and it's just not really an option to try and find a way to play those titles on M1/2 Mac. I'm starting to wonder and search around other laptop options that are fairly similar, but are Windows, and would provide the performance I seek (Mainly design, motion graphics, complex After Effects projects, and some degree of photo and video editing that I do from time to time, some video jobs do come in my design agency, we do all sorts of stuff.) The games I look forward to play the most would be GG Strive, Melty Lumina, Final Fantasy XIV, -which are fairly light, true that- Most of my gaming time is done on PS4 (Soon to be 5, I hope) and Switch, but some online communities do practically exist only on PC, especially the competitive side of the fighting game community. My eyes are wondering around, Asus has their Zenbook line which looks tasty, MSI has their Creator line that interests me equally as much Would you have any specific tip, or brands and computer linups I should give an eye on? Thank you all in advance I do know that I didn't specify exactly a budget set in stone to further help you people, but I'm not exactly in the market for a computer in this exact moment, rather trying to figure out all the possible options, I'll probably end up spending around 1500 to 2000€ max. M2 Pro MacBook Pros waiting room I guess?
  3. Hey Alex, since now "All the ideas in your resume are done" after this video Do you think we'll ever get a chance to look through it? Maybe in some Floatplane behind the scene thing? I'd really love to see it
  4. These kinds of videos are the very, very best way to introduce newer LMG employees to the audience. Hi Adam! Nice yo see you on board, I liked quite a lot of the videos you wrote (I think the Linux on PS4 was the first one you wrote?), and hope to see you more often. Keep up the good work
  5. Yea, it seems the most likely answer, given the start of construction and the first Techquickie video shot on the "Shortcircuit set"
  6. I was curious. Of course change is a constant, and change is always good. My question was about "amalgamation", not "change".
  7. I've been following all of the team's channels for quite a long while, several years at this point. All the different channels had their distinct identity, in the way that they were shot and scripted. So... Why did this change? I was watching a Techquickie video, and I didn't realize it was a Techquickie video. Because the white chromakey'd background is long gone, basically only the use of stock photos has remained. It was shot in the "Shortcircuit set", if we want to call it that way. Several LTT videos were set in that same filming location in the studio, and I really don't get why. Why did the production of the videos started to use sets (That I suppose were created with certain channels and videos in mind) as "general purpose sets that we can use for every channel" Basicaly the only channel that is still consistent in it's filming style and set is TechLinked, but I think that the reason TechLinked is so "unchanging" is due to the nature of the production of the videos, that need to be done quickly, more than identity and such. How does all fo this not create any problem in the form of brand identity of the channels and/or the content created? I get that the vast majority of the audience between the channels is shared, so it shouldn't be that big of an issue as maybe this post is trying to make it out to be, but I think that different channels exist to be different to one another, and this "amalgamation" of content is... Really strange to me. I hope to get an answer, since I'm really curious! I hope I didn't sound pedantic, I was just curious. Thank to everyone who'll read this in advance! ((Also, I'm not really used to the forum, so I hope I posted this topic in the accurate place))
  8. So, I'm looking for a keyboard with one specific requirement: It has to have onboard memory. (I play on Playstation 4, so without onboard memory I can't in any way have macros and that kind of stuff) The more keys the better, both for in-game macros and a lil bit of productivity (I'm a graphic designer and 3D artist, more keys are always better) Mechanical is a plus, but I wouldn't say it's a requirement Wireless is a plus, but I wouldn't say it's a requirement Since I have a Razer Naga Trinity, maybe it being Razer would be cool, so you now, they can sync, but I don't really care that much Hit me with your options. I'm evaluating in the 100$ range, but I can spend more if it's worth it. Thank you all in advance!!!
  9. A few months ago, on a livestream, we got a peak at a new intro. Are you guys still thinking about changing it? Or even removing it? In my opinion, you really need a new, shorter intro. Or you could even get rid of it alltogether.
  10. I was thinking about the Tangent thingy as well, the one with 3 trackballs
  11. So, I came across the BlackMagic Design DaVinci Resolve Keyboard, at a incredible thousand dollar price point. Is there any reason to buy it? Is it even mechanical? (Can't find this information on the site about that...) Also it seems not that much comfortable to use to type (I really like low travel keyboards, like the ones found in laptops, or the Apple Magic Keyboard and such, I don't know if they have a specific name) So, I guess that with like 200$ moreI could by like the BlackMagic Micro Panel, and a good keyboard (I don't know wich one yet tho...) Any ideas? Heavy writing and editing.
  12. Best setup for GPU accelerated render like Octane, and multiple GPU setup. If you still have the PLX riser, you could re-use it for this one since Octane really loves as much GPUs as possible
  13. Epyc would be cool, but I don't know how it would handle video editing and such. Also, yes, i need 16x lanes, Octane is really demanding.
  14. So, I'm currently studying a solution for a future investment regarding a rendering platform for video editing, VFX and 3D rendering. Since I use OctaneRender (A GPU-accelerated render engine that scales perfectly the more GPUs you have) I'm searching for the most cost-effective solution to have the most PCIe lanes. PCIe lanes are key, since I plan on having a 4 GPU system in the near future, and I would love to have 16x lanes on each Octane doesn't really care about CPU really, they just ask you a decent clockspeed for fast user experience, but doesn't count at all in the rendering process, but since I will do VFX compositing and editing too off this machine and not only 3D rendering, I'd like to have a fast multi-core platform for use in AVID Media Player, the Adobe Suite and DaVinci Resolve, with modeling in both ZBrush and Cinema 4D (I don't know if I will switch to Autodesk Maya at some point in the future). I will need 10Gbe on the motherboard since I plan on filling all the space for PCIe expansion, so I can't occupy one for just a network card. Threadripper 2 seems the best solution for me, but I want to get someone else's opinion on this. Thank you in advance!
