  1. Hi Folks, Seems the Techno Dad Life guy has fallen of the face of Youtube? Anyone know what's happened to him? Thanks Bart
  2. After 4 days of banging my head against a wall in a futile attempt to get the four sticks of memory to overclock to 3200 speed, I think I've found the reality of the situation. Seems that 2ed generation Ryzen CPUs can only overclock two sticks of Ram. Put in four and it will always defaults to 2133. On the other hand, 3rd generation CPUs can overclock 4 sticks of ram to 3200. I've been wanting to upgrade to a 7 3700x for some time now, perhaps this will push me to spend my hard earned cash on a new CPU. Thanks for sharing in my frustration. Cheers Bart
  3. I was told that it was, but I haven't looked so I can't swear on it. I'll have a look. The manual doesn't say which make, only to look at the QVL. Bart
  4. I appreciate the attempt at help with this YT link. But, I tried that video two days ago with no success. Now you can start to understand what I've been through. I've pretty much tried all the YT videos the subject. And I've tried many timing changes in the BIOS, yet nothing seems to get it to 3200. Bart
  5. I've tried manually setting the timings and voltages. Nothing seems to kick it up to 3200, it's still at 2133. Thanks
  6. The motherboard I have is the Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming. ( Not the B450-F II ) Thanks
  7. So populating all the slots might me an issue. I hold out hope that there might be a work-around for that. Do you know if two slots will work with 2 x 16 gb sticks? Thanks Bart
  8. Hi Folks, I'm trying to upgrade my amount of Ram, 16 to 32. Currently the Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 8 overclocks at 3200, no problem. I try switching the ram to 4 x 8 sticks of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro and it won't overclock. It sits at 2133. I've spent 2 days working on the problem, tried every combination of advanced BIOS settings, but it still only comes up to 2133. Why will it not OC to 3200? Does the MoBo or CPU not like more than two sticks of Ram? Does it not like Corsair Vengeance? Any suggestions or incantations that you know of that will make it work? If not, what amount of memory and make do you know for sure will work. Will a different 7 3700X Ryzen CPU let it work correctly? Is it a problem with earlier generations of CPUs? Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Ryzen 5 2600 Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 8 3200 DDR4 Wanting to replace with Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 4 x 8 3200 DDR4 Latest Bios. Thanks Bart
  9. Hi Folks, LTT needs to do a video on TPM, what it means, what can happen when it's activated through the UEFI, etc... I have it on my Asus B450-f motherboard, but I'm worried that if I activate it something may negatively change to my current setup. Please educate us Linus, you're our only hope. Apologizes to George Lucas. Bart
  10. Hi Folks, Thought it was about time to start a home NAS. Wow, what a lot of stuff to learn. FreeNAS seems to be out for me because my PC doesn't support ECC memory. UnRaid costs more than I want to spend, What I want to know is what basic free NAS software is out there, and which are good and reliable. And the most important, easy to learn and set up. And doesn't require ECC memory. Thanks Bart
  11. It's real and we have caused it.
  12. Hi Folks, Watched Linus's video last night, very informative. In it he said to go watch some videos by some other youtubers regarding the fair use laws. I wasn't able to hear clearly what the website name was. What I think I heard was HPH3? Is that it? So if anyone could let me know what the link or site is I'd appreciate it. Thanks Bart
  13. Ouch. Yeah, I screwed up. I meant router, not modem. I corrected it.
  14. Hello Folks, I need to spend my hard earned cash on a new WiFi router. The current one that I use needs to be rebooted at least twice a day. Not fun. I was hoping I could get some suggestions for WiFi Routers in the $100 to $150 price range. So please, suggest some WiFi Routers and why you like it. Thanks Bart
  15. My apologies to Genesis, Now on to my question. Am I the only one that finds it confusing to build a network on Win 10? Is Win 10 simply bad at networking? And why does it take so long for PCs that are on the network to show up? Bart
  16. Hi Folks, I've started overclocking my Asus B450-F and Ryzen 5 2600. So far I've gotten about a 20 percent boost. Is that low, average or should I expect a larger boost? Thanks Bart
  17. I don't even know where to start. What settings for what? Throw me a bone....
  18. Howdy Fellow Sufferers, Is anyone willing to share their stable OC settings for the Ryzen 5 2600 on a ASUS B450-F motherboard? If so, please post them. Thanks Bart
  19. Can anyone recommend a link that has basic information on how to overclock. I'm new to this and I have a lot to learn. Thanks Bart
  20. Too bad the database is dead. As a relative newcomer to overclocking I could have used information for a Ryzen 5 2600 on a ASUS B450-F.
  21. UEFI it is then. Not good that you have to reapply Ryzen Master every time you reboot..... Thanks
  22. Howdy Folks, I have the ASUS B450-F motherboard with a Ryzen 5 2600. Which is the better method of overclockng the CPU? Should I use the motherboards UEFI setting or should I use the AMD program to overclock the CPU? Thanks Bart
  23. Mystery solved. There are two settings for the EZ Tuning, daily computing and gaming/media editing. Set it to gaming/media editing and the hard drives disappear. I guess the engineers figure the gamer is going to use NVME only so they ignore the hard drives, hence they disappear. I hope regular SSDs are visible. But when set to daily computing all the drives are visible. I'm not happy with the program. I want the hard drives to be visible in gaming/editing mode as well...... Now the question is, if I set the parameters myself and not rely on EZ Tuning, can I configure it to show the hard drives when over clocked?
