Event ID 1000 is pretty well known.

If you fix it and the problem resolves it might not be a hardware error at all.

To get started, I would suggest not to. Internet connection will be required for:
Getting the latest OS update. Getting the recent drivers for your system. Getting the built-in apps. Activating Windows You may need to go yourself online, to get the latest drivers for some hardware if the manufacturer has yet deliver them to Microsoft for Windows Update delivery. This is an issue for frequently updated drivers like GPUs. If you want the absolute latest drivers, that is.  You may need to go online to manually download and install some drivers that the manufacturer hasn't delivered to Microsoft for Windows Update delivery, making a hardware not work, or be limited in some way to be using the standard basic Windows drivers instead of the official ones from the manufacturer. Some OS components are updated via the Store app (like the built-in apps).
Once your system is fully set up, then it will be fine to go offline.

There wouldn't be a way to control them via software.
You could get a usb potentiometer, will give you voltage control for the fans.
Not sure how these go long term, if they can put more stress on the usb port/risk of burning out the port, but i have one connected to my routers usb port to power a couple of 120mm fans to cool down my networking/internet gear and it seems to be doing a good job.
One thing to keep in mind would be how many amps your usb port can provide.

Both, it seems you've pretty much answered your own question.
We have dedicated professionals that review hardware for us in controlled environments, so there's not really any point in getting benchmarks from another random and/or inexperienced consumer.

According to everything I have seen, it isn't worth the price. You might consider an APU (my Ryzen 5 3400g with 16GB RAM beats the tar out of it according to UserBenchmarks...)

Almost all coolers nowadays are a copper heatpipe aluminum fin array hybrid. Taking advantage of the metals strongpoints whilst avoid their weaknesses.

Sanderguy777 reacted to maartendc in What RAM should I get?
3600 is not too much for your CPU, but the memory compatibility depends more on the motherboard.

You can check on this page the memory compatibilities that Asrock has tested for your board:https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/X470 Master SLIac/#MemoryRR

They seem to have only tested RAM up to 3000Mhz for Corsair, and your particular model from Newegg is not listed. So your mileage may vary.

    Long story short:
    - Most DDR4 RAM will work fine on your setup.
    - 3600 Mhz RAM will always work on your CPU / motherboard, it might just run slower than 3600 Mhz, depends on your motherboard. It will always work at some speed or another.
    - Only way to find out is to try, and set the XMP profile in the motherboard (= profile for the RAM that tells the motherboard it should run at 3600 Mhz)
    - It is best to match identically (full model number) the RAM you currently have, or you might run into problems. Unless you are not planning on using the stick you currently have, in which case it doesnt matter.
    - Go into your BIOS to see the current RAM speed, or use Ryzen Master (AMD software tool): this will tell you the current RAM speed.

    Good luck!

Love it! How are you bending the steel for the rad? If you repaint the outside of the case, there are some engine enamels out there that are indestructible! I used some on a hand plane restore and it is unscratched after many woodworking projects.

Yep, windows is on ssd. Played lack ops 3 today. Took 2 days to download!  (Slow internet and school too)
It is a bit laggy at times. But I can change some settings and probably have it work better.

It does play though and about the same as modern warfare did (a not quite official version from a friend..... so that may have to do with it)

If it doesn't work well enough to play (I've been doing just that for like 2 hrs LOL) I can just save it till I upgrade to a desktop.

I got the ram last night and installed it today. I also formatted and reinstalled the 1tb hdd that was originally in it. So I have a 240gb ssd, 1tb hdd and 24gb of ram!
I'm not sure what specifically the second photo means but I take it that with a few web pages and games downloading, it's only using a max of 8gb of ram.

I haven't had a chance to play anything on it, but I bet it will be good!

Thank you guys for your help!

    Thanks for the info!

You should boot your laptop, then hit 'restart' in Windows. Then mash 'escape' and 'F2' starting when the screen goes black until you get into bios. You don't have to worry about mashing two buttons at the same time. I see online that it is one of these two to get into bios.

For RAM, you could do any of these if you want. I like Kingston but Crucial is also good and a little cheaper. Also found this Corsair, which is a little cheaper and also a great brand. I'd go with the Corsair if I were you.

Don't worry about the two new dimms being 8gb each, your system will work just fine with 20gb of RAM. If you don't have the 100 bucks to make that happen, you could go with a couple of 4gb dimms.

Just ordered the samsung 16gb kit. I had ordered the 8gb kit, but I think I will be happier with the 16.

24gb! That is more than all the other computers in our house put together! I still have mixed emotions since it is kind of like putting good money into something that still probably won't play call of duty ww2. But I will always wonder if the 8gb was enough so......

So if I plug in the other drive, then turn on the computer, mash delete till it gives me the boot window, it will let me format the hdd and then boot from the ssd?

Otherwise how do I format the hdd? Sata to usb cable?

Also, I played starcraft 2 on it last night and it works better. Last time I played it, 2 ish years ago, it would flicker every now and then. None of that now! All settings on ultra by the way! So that's cool.

Knowing that, I think I will add the 8 GB of ram just to give me a little better chance of playing older call of duty titles up to BO 1 or 2. What brand is good? It has 8gb of Hynix in it already. It needs 1600ghz (mhz? Dont remember which now) ddr3l sodimm

Thank you guys for all the help! I would have not been able to do this withot you.
