  1. I see, well that’s kind of bothersome. Ignorance is bliss as some would say, I am very OCD about these little things. I guess I would be put at ease if I see another 10900K with something similar
  2. Well that sounds like an issue, is it normal? Maybe something from Intel that has to do with the revision #?
  3. So the gold bar contact isn’t needed? What could’ve caused the greying of that portion? It just abruptly cuts off
  4. Delidded my chip, the gold bar is grey on the right side. Seems to be a hard cutoff, almost like it was intentional, not a gradient from gold to grey, just straight grey… is this normal?
  5. Hello everyone, coming from a direct die 9700K at 5.2, to a 10900K. (Weird circumstance, got a free upgrade essentially). Looking to get some more out of it. To preface it’s a sp80 chip on a Z490 formula XII. Previous owner had the ai oc at 5.2ghz so may have degraded it tbh. Anyways, looking to reach 5.2ghz maybe 4.8 on the cache. Currently on LLC 3, 5.1ghz/4.7ghz + 0.185v on the offset, PLL 1.2v. LLC4 requires much more vcore under load, LLC 4 need +0.200v (320w) in linpack to be stable, whereas LLC3 needs +0.185v offset to be stable, (260w). My LLC 3 +0.185v profile is around 1.296 and 1.305v under load in linpack x. It’s coolable until around 330w, that seems to be the thermal transfer limit of the IHS to my aio cold plate. So I have more room, just not sure where degradation range for voltage begins to occur silicon wise. Oh also svid is on best case and acdc llc 0.01mohms. Here are my questions 1. Is OCCT small avx2 necessary? Just completely freezes when I run that, cannot run it without going past 330w. 2. Any tricks to reach 5.2ghz? Any specific settings? Playing with llc or acdc llc? 3. At what voltage idle and under load does the silicon degrade. 4. How do I use adaptive? I’d like for my vcore to drop when idle and my offset to not affect idle vcore, just turbo. But adaptive is making me set a voltage and an offset and it doesn’t seem to affect anything the voltage I actually set so im not sure how to use that. 5. I know vcore under load is different from test to test, but based on this OC, would you say my chip is average?
  6. Yea my old Z390 gigabyte board had all of that, this board seems to have nothing.... Not even hysteresis for the fans, now they're going to ramp up and down if i clock chrome lol... come on asus
  7. Is there any way to change the input sensor on the case fans from cpu? I don’t see the option to change the sensor. My z390 gigabyte board had tons of sensors, next to the pcie slots etc
  8. Sorry meant 2601, why can't a user downgrade bios files? I own the board, its up to me whether the security fixes are worth it or not. For me, I figured an older bios with better memory oc would be more valuable to me, was also my thought process on my Aorus Board.
  9. I did a workaround on something similar on my Z390 Aorus Ultra, wasn't too difficult, I just followed a guide. Can't really find much for this, though I will try a USB 2.0 stick first as im reading that can help. If you know of any guide id appreciate it. Sucks how its locked down, I should be able to pick my own bios, I own the board.
  10. Got this board second hand with a 10900K, it was on bios 2103 and I was trying to flash 1003 as that one from what I read has the best memory oc support for 10th gen. I keep getting the message "BIOS Not supported" when trying to read the file. Updating to 2603 worked perfectly. I tried again to 1003 and same message, even with 0901 says the exact same thing. Really annoying. USB 3, can I just not rollback the bios??????

  12. Long story short, I purchased a 9900K second hand and it appears to be faulty, won’t get past the windows logo on optimized defaults. Spoke to the seller he has been very cooperative with the situation and offered for me to return it. It was purchased in Feb 2020 and he gave me the receipt pdf. How should I explain the situation to intel for the highest chance of getting a replacement? I would much rather get a replacement from them than going through the second hand market again.
  13. I am 100% certain the cpu is faulty. Tried everything. Seller is being very co operative and offered for me to return it back to him. He provided the purchase receipt and I was thinking I can contact intel for a replacement. It was purchased feb 2020. What would be the best way to approach the RMA for them to approve it?
