Now if whitelisting would work I would not mind but the sites I have seen implementing this demand you to uninstall adblocker to be able to browse the site. Personally I find it way to much work to uninstall it and reinstall all the time so I just do not go to these sites.

That box is called your router. You can configure your router to use a VPN for all internet traffic. Check the VPN's support pages for how to setup that specific VPN.

If the Linksys EA4500 has support for DD-WRT you can install that and create a wireless bridge with it and connect your computer to that.

It just sucks that Europe gets so little content compared to USA on Netflix (of course they don't tell that openly anywhere, you have to find out yourself). Not to mention their notification for new movies is absolute garbage and I don't get it why is it so hard to have ENGLISH and ENGLISH (CC) subtitles. Instead, only CC is available so you also have to read [door slams] or [birds chirping] nonsense like they are incapable of filtering out squared brackets and make regular English out of existing subtitles. Not even asking for subs in Slovenian language... So bizarre really. I generally don't need subtitles because I understand English fine, but some movies have really quiet speech or really weird terminology where I prefer to turn subs on.

Ah well, guess we just gotta wait and see if Spotify suffer's the same fate. I'd hope not, since i use it a fair amount each day. Unless i'm actually needing to interact with anyone or out with pals, my wireless buds are permanently stuck in my ears lol. And i've yet to see a service that can provide the same, really cba going through the hassle of ripping ALL the songs i could "potentially" want and putting them on a SD card. All that ended with WMP and CD burning .

That is how they reason. Problem is that many have tried this before only to discover that doing this actually hurt them. It is born from a perspective of greed and not understanding that if you take away the 1.2 million in your example that are not viewing the ads they crumble their user base making it unattractive for all parties in the end.

Swedens biggest news paper tried this not long ago and they discovered a lot of problems of their thinking. It turned out that when people could not share news articles with their friends because they could not read them because of blocking ad blockers the people who actually viewed the ads stopped using the site and started using other alternatives instead. Political parties on FB stopped linking to them for the same reason and news where simply linked elsewhere.

Spotify came about because of a greedy music industry killing them self of. Doing the same mistake again just shows that we never learn from history.

It's possible that Spotify gets better rates for the ads that do get seen if they have X users as opposed to Y users that could possibly see an ad.

The source of the ad might request the viewer count and not specifically care about those who are using adblock.

The Vega VII is just a consumer variant of exactly what you're talking about. It's called MI50.
Crippling the Vega VII to less memory would have wrecked performance for only a modest reduction in cost/price.

    Wat.
It is a 2080 competitor, just not a great one. It easily outclasses the 2070.

Or, you could do the morally acceptable thing and either allow the ads or pay for Spotify.  You don't have a right to listen without ads.

I love that we are talking about the mid 2000s here, since I feel like since multi-core CPUs hit the mainstream consumer market, the speed of obsolescence has slowed down drastically.

Honestly, I think of some CPUs from the 2009-2012 and how they are honestly still viable even today outside of extreme compute tasks.

We are talking about the AMD Phenoms, Core 2 Quads, Nehalem / Sandy Bridge Core i series, and AMD bulldozer/piledriver CPUs.

For basic computing, these are still capable and work fine on clean machines with SSD storage.

They are even honestly fine for some basic gaming if you are just targeting 1080p60 with lower settings in many cases.

You would have never seen this in the 90s or 00s. I remember when I first got into this and every CPU and GPU generation we were getting 50%+ performance bumps almost guaranteed, and in some cases much larger so, at the same price points of the previous generations. Now, it's almost not even that exciting, especially in the GPU space.

The hobby has gotten so cheap because of it. You don't need to upgrade every year to keep up with latest and greatest like back in the day.

Not if IDE was the HDD standard, that died off and was replaced by SATA in the early/mid 2000s.
Both of my Athlon 64 motherboards(socket 939) feature both SATA and IDE, and those CPUs released in 2004.

Look at literally any motherboard from 2010-14, I guarantee none of them will have IDE.
Have a look at Intel P67 boards, no IDE in sight. That chipset released in 2011.

I have a feeling you haven't taken many certs if any. You can find practice test questions sure, but the exact exam questions is going to be a PITA to find not to mention they have several versions of the tests and they would be in random order.

Then you have tests like the CISSP which even if you happened to some how cheat (unlikely) you would still need 5 years of proven experience in the security field to even qualify for the cert.

I mean the truth is it would take almost as much time to memorize all the answers as it would to just study and understand the test material. The latter being much more beneficial for everyone involved. Honestly, passing a cert isn't hard if you give yourself a month or three to study up and prepare. Read a book on it, take practice tests online until you are confident you can score 90% or higher and then go take it.

Now when it comes to certs if you have a degree or experience you can generally pass on the CompTIA stuff as imo they are pretty entry level certs. They can help you get your first few jobs/assignments, but you will out grow them fast.

And to address the accusations we are buying views, do you have ANY idea how much it costs to BUY views on YouTube???

We've experimented with it to boost our audience size in developing markets like India, but as far as we can tell even over there, where the CPMs are much lower its a TERRIBLE approach unless your video exists only to sell a service or product (a la Tai Lopez)

Today we had an meeting and we came to the conclusion that we will buy a second server, virtulize both of them.
The fileserver will run on one of the servers.

We got to this conclusion, because with a second server + virtulization we can run other services on the server like our warehouse management.

    Thanks for your input @Mikensan

Without the Data the company can't run, so thats very critical.
But for that we have a working backupsystem on tape thats working great. Without the NAS we will stick to the tapes.
And yeah, their are definitelly too few users justifying an exact analyse.

I am very pumped.  Just bought this monitor and had no idea that G-sync would work on it. I had just upgraded my older monitor for a faster refresh rate and just found out about this little bonus w/ G-Sync. I have a GTX 1070 and the AOC C32G1 will be delivered on Weds.  I'll report back the results after I get the AOC set up.

It is pretty much impossible to answer. To say for sure you would need to analyze data usage. How critical is the data, how much redundancy do you need and so on. Is there even enough users to be worth doing an analyze like that?
