  1. All I have installed are: ram, cpu, cooler. Power is connected (24-pin and 8 pin). The CPU and ram are the ones from my old workstation. Motherboard was picked out from storage. Did boot to windows once.
  2. CPU: Intel Core i7 3960x Mobo:MSI x79a GD65 8d RAM: 32gb Kingston something PSU: Antec Earthwatts 750w Coolers Nepton 280 Problem: Won't turn on. Pressing the power button (on the motherboard or front panel) results in fans spinning up and then powering off instantly. System had gotten into Windows just fine until I shut down to move fans around. Tried: Another (400w) PSU, trying PSU on another system (worked), swapping/moving RAM, reseating CPU, and clearing CMOS. System is currently out of the case, on a motherboard box with only ram, cpu, power, and cooler plugged in.
  3. I feel like Linus is more ruthless. He'd commit genocide to win a war. So, I'd fight for him... And then plot to have him assassinated and/or dethroned, replaced by a democracy.
  4. I didn't find it slippery but I did find the mouse wheel to make the mouse shudder every click. It just seems like the mouse wheel is over-built. I do hear that it gets better with use though (based on other Logitech mice that had such problems).
  5. Even between keyboards, switches feel different (from manufacturer, model, etc.), so to dismiss "a single change" as if it were insignificant is silly. Hell, I have a Majestouch Ninja (Blue), Quickfire TK (Blue), along with the 2014 BW right now and I can tell you that each one feels different. I've also used another Kaihl based keyboard and that, again, is different. I've also used and owned the 2013 Blackwidow with Cherry Blues. They are definitely not the same. I also know that the characteristics of Kaihl and Cherry change differently with use (after a couple of thousand presses). Regarding the feel after longer use, I haven't felt this yet but I've seen factory reports. Not even counting fundamental flaws in a few feature implementations (seems like something firmware/software could fix), the Ouroboros definitely does not have a sensor that can compete with the G502. I do like the fit of the Ouroboros though. Just wish so many things about it weren't so janky.
  6. The fact that the 2014 Blackwidow is now using Kaihl made Razer switches (green & orange) is not a "near zero change". I don't know why you would think that given this information. They're not the only ones switching either and it's interesting to note the differences and similarities between the Kaihl switch keyboards (characteristics separate from Razer laying out their own specifications). It's not actually Slick making the comments. It might just be that I find the style more intuitive than others but comments like those are generally from the editor/writer/some external party related to post-production. This is something that carries across over several mediums (though written articles have the luxury of not having to worry about clutter by adding extra exposition for clarity) and one I assumed people would understand without explanation. Going forward, I don't think I'll risk compromising text layout aesthetics to hand-hold the viewer and I personally enjoy other perspectives introduced in this way when I watch other videos. The Mionix Avior 7000 is definitely fatter than the G502 (I have the Avior 7000 a foot away from me) and as such, I find it harder to grip comfortably than the G502. Aside from the excessive weight, I had no trouble finger-gripping the G502. Movement felt sluggish and insecure, however, due to the weight and the looseness of the mouse wheel (and possibly the other buttons?). When I made quick sweeps, I would find that the G502 would have a rattle akin to what you would see and hear from a soldier in movies, running around with their equipment on. This in contrast to other, simpler mice that do not have this problem (this could be a trade-off for the free-wheel mechanism and heavy construction of the parts). The Avior 7000 does not have this problem but, again, I had a hard time gripping it compared to the G502. I don't know, maybe I just couldn't get used to the shape despite being able to switch between my Abyssus, Death Adder, Spawn, and Zowie FK with ease.
  7. Hey, all. Thanks for the kind words on the intro and editing. =P I tried quite a few new things this time around and I'm glad you liked them. I've had a few people ask me about the zoom-in transitions (there were ZERO actual zooms in this video. They were all faked in AfterEffects. The wrap-around at 15 minutes is especially hilarious, in my opinion) and I think I'll just quickly post a video showing how I did them. THERE IS A CATCH! Gotta follow me on Twitter (@edzelyago) 'cause that's how I'll be linking to it. It's easier for me that way. If you have any constructive criticism or even non-constructive criticism (e.g. "You suck!") feel free to shoot them my way (again, better if you use Twitter 'cause I'll be more likely to see it that way.) Cheers!
  8. You guys know what's going to happen though, right? We're going to forget to change it back and nobody will realize it until Linus goes, "Hey, that's not my name..." some 2 weeks later.
  9. Updated. I'd rather not make huge changes at this point. I could take away the contact plate and adjust the pipes so that it's a bit more ambiguous to what it is, maybe move up the linustechtips to replace it so the pipes kind of go into linus tech tips (but not, I'm for the separation of shapes). Changelog: - Alright so I changed the glow from white to blue in order to keep it from just looking blurry. Hopefully that works out. - Accidentally had emboss on a glow layer which... was weird. Fixed that.
  10. Updated OP with changes. Changelog: -Center-aligned dashes under headline -Used faded heads, inside faces are half-toned comic book style and increased opacity for clarity -Placed glowing heatpipes on top so they stay clean and white -Altered the glowing headline a bit. Lowered opacity on second glow layer and increased size so it's less concentrated.
  11. I think, if they're going to be released as autographed posters, we'd have them bulk sent to us and then sent out. If we can find someone else to do the shipping (NCIX?) it might turn out to be cheaper, shipping wise.
  12. So, I was working on finalizing the shirt and I ended up making a poster that was on the 'maybe list'. Click Here for a slightly higher resolution version. Or here.
  13. Strangely enough, I was thinking the same thing. For proof of this I offer this secret project that nobody knows I'm working on 'cause... I haven't said anything.
  14. You can order T-Shirts from https://www.districtlines.com/Linus-Tech-Tips . However, since voting has come out strongly in favor of teal, that is the colour we'll be ordering.
  15. OKAY! Email has been sent for Teal. I kind of want to buy one to see if anyone would spot me in the wild. =3
  16. You would explain that you like computer hardware and a heatsink that big is worthy of mounting to your motherboard.
  17. Alright, gotta decide on something. Which one of these? I'm not sure what the colours look like in real life as these are colours just taken from the website. Just a guess, one is Royal Blue and the other is neon heather blue. Click for a larger view.
  18. Okay, so I decided to try a different direction with this.
  19. I've been told by our contact at DistrictLines that the gradient is doable. So it'll be a transparent white behind the heatsink to give it the gradient on top of the base shirt colour.
