  1. Alienware Laptop that is upgradeable.

Comedic criticisms (to the Verge - not you, Navneet) on the video, with added sin point values (except where applicable*). Maybe I'll call it TechSins if this gets up off the ground (probably not) :

      • 00:00 - The Verge? That's 2 sins right off the bat! 2
      • 00:17 - there are other laptops with this functionality as well. Clevo used to do it more often in the past, but it was still a thing (at a similar price-point). 1
      • 00:26 - that's been the trend for the past few years now, so you don't have to imagine it. *
      • 00:30 - partially invalid at best. MXM and full-sized GPUs have been used in laptops before. Also, AMD APUs exist as well. 3
      • 01:01 - WRONG. It's either the RTX 2080 Ti, the Titan RTX, or the highest-end Quadro RTX (depending upon which market you're looking at). 3
      • 01:14 - stop repeating yourself... *
      • 01:27 - so you took a step back in time to remove compromises? Just tell it how it is! I like the concept, but you're stalking around the bush right now! 2
      • 01:55 - this may sound like nitpicking, but the thing's built like a desktop replacement - not a desktop. MXM GPU is made for mobile/SFF designs. 1
      • 02:15 - close, but no cigar - "Federal Aviation Administration [are] for lithium-ion batteries rated above '100 watt hours (Wh) per battery'." 1
      • 03:24 - and this is the point where I stop watching if I'm not sinning the video. Proprietary form factor - DGFF card. It's like MXM, only for Dell. 1
      •  03:31 - I'll be surprised if this DGFF makes it past the year 2021 at this rate. Dell will be the only ones using it (unless they allow others to use it like MXM), and there's no guarantee that it'll work with future GPUs. They'll probably also have to make a bigger AIB design if the GPU gets larger, which will also break backwards compatibility. double sin! 2x2 (4)
      • 03:50 - Wait - what do you mean 'slightly'? It's not like the RTX 2080 is only somewhat better than the 2070, which is only a tad above the 2060. Even MaxQ! 1
      • 04:28 - that's the sound of mobile cooling. Are you shocked? It's not a thin gaming laptop. What are you complaining about? You knew this was coming! 1
      • 04:46 - you're complaining about battery life - on a gaming laptop. Equipped with a 9900K?! Have you seen the power usage on that thing?!? 1
      • 05:23 - then what about the ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC? With an upgradeable CPU/APU that can allow for swappable graphics as well? AM4?! *
      • 05:39 - Nothing is truly future-proof, and you know it. Especially on the Intel side (they keep switching CPU sockets every so often)... 1
      • 06:00 - What's to stop me from considering the ROG STRIX (Ryzen) instead? Or the Razer laptop shown off at CES (not upgradeable, but better portability)?!*
      • 06:09 - with the way you presented it, I have no hope for the machine whatsoever :( Linus needs to do this machine some justice at some point! 1
      • 06:17 - CES? Little?! TRIGGERED. 1

      Sin count: 24

Sentence: Go upgrade a 2018 MacBook - in under 20 minutes!

Will someone do this thing some justice?!

The trade-offs are a bit too much for me :(

  5. It should not. Can you post what apps are getting uninstalled?
  6. I got fucking owned by a guy for whom I was freelancing. Now I work for his company. Its funny how my knowledge of the topic that we were working was so superficial.

I must admit its hard to take hits on your self esteem and ego but I am thankful that it worked out and for the experience I got from that encounter.

I now feel I know nothing and I am feeling happy about that fact. I have so much to learn and grow. At the same time I feel let down on a personal level too that I was too confident about my knowledge on the field.

  7. Why do we try so hard in life! Sometimes I feel numb and worthless.

Thank you. I do have hope, but sometimes I am awe'd by peoples skills and knowledge and feel down. I look forward to the knowledge and skill that I can gain from them.

Need help with FreeNAS Data recovery.

I found out that one of the SSD is corrupted. I am attaching the log. I am planing to suggest them to send the SSD's to a professional repair/recovery agency. Any idea about how much that could cost in CAD?
  10. You can start by using Virtual Box on a Windows Install. After that you can move to other virtualization platforms You will know the basic working of a VM hyper-visor.
  11. So I have a client who had a FreeNAS server in his office which was used as datastor for VMWare. A few days ago the boot SSD died and he didn't have any backup of data or Configs. His Office didnt have any IT person for a year or so. They dont have any backup of data on NAS and don't know the FreeNAS configuration.(Pools etc0 I was able to restore 2 Pools(Oldboot and Oldboot1 with help of the guy working there. We have 2 Disks(SSDs) that are not a part of pool left and his VMWare has few VM's missing. Can you guys help me with this? I am attaching the devices list and volume info here.
