  1. 72 USD for 2gbps in Singapore Honestly, no difference in speed for day to day usage and it is overkill for now But my ISP upgraded us to 2gbps from the standard 1gbps for free and since my new x99 build could support it, was a issue of why not The fastest I can hit for most international servers(US Leaseweb) is around 63.8mb/s approx 512mbps - excluding local servers, microsoft/steam/adobe CDNs which can hit close to 900mbps on burst
  2. CCR, Cloud core router series. CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+PC http://routerboard.com/CCR1009-8G-1S-1SplusPC
  3. Dual NIC on my PC Teamed to the MikroTik router We have the option of having 2 Networks at 1gbps each from the Fiber ONT or using the MikroTik router/switch to bond them and make it a single connection Hooked up my PC (2x NIC Team) and Synology NAS (2x NIC Team) to the router with the last port on the switch going to my AC87U.
  4. My ISP just upgraded us to 2GBps from our original plan of 1GBps free of charge. However to use it I would need a MkroTik CloudCore router to team the NICs and use them as 1 connection due to the gigabit Ethernet limitation. They finally delivered the router today and after some hours of tinkering with Intel's finicky Windows 10 drivers got it working.
  5. I always use them around the house and at work good stuff and always come in handy when doing cable management
  6. well the ram is supposedly high speed to begin with. I don't really see much of an issue
  7. they probably just under clocked or throttled it in the OS waiting for someone to flash their own rom and own a mobile heater
  8. seriously just got myself a mamba a week ago and they release a new one.
  9. I would say go for the Air flow fans However if your R9 290 is very near to the fan and positioned at the same level as the fan, you could use SP Fans as well.
  10. well at least the cancellation is handled properly they could have chosen to just send the crappy product and fleece the customers ^ at least that seems to be the norm for the PC Game industry, bad, unstable ports of games and fleece us
  11. There are no aftermarket coolers for Titan X afaik, NVIDIA forbids the rest from tinkering with it. Unless you consider watercooling blocks that is.
  12. if you aren't in a hurry wait for a single 980ti or 980 at least
  13. So the sata angled adaptors came and.... Silly me got the wrong ones. Ordered the Right, RIGHT Angled ones this time which have the connectors facing the right way. (side effects of too much LTT ^) Bought some extra cables combs, but they sent me bat combed versions instead this time. And I actually bought the combs from the same ebay listing as before and they gave me straight ones the previous time. Will be changing out all the combs for the bat designed ones shortly.
  14. just random idea(s), if you are doing Water cooling try use orange and blue tubing/rigid tubing and just white or transparent fluid Primochill Rigid tubing for example... will match the portal theme, like portals transporting the fluid also check out ColdZero's backplate for your graphic cards you can custom design and get him to print your own designs, probably a robot aiming the portal gun at the graphic block's g1/4 ports Use tubing instead of EK FC termnials, it will link up to theme of orange/blue tubes(portals) being opened to transport the fluid.
  15. nice. subbed and following your thread always nice to see 900D mods and get some inspiration haha
  16. Just a quick update on some minor progress. Tried doing cable lacing, but failed spectacularly at it after watching some guides on YouTube. Perhaps LTT's upcoming video will reignite my interest in pursuing it again. Here's a sneak peek at my custom sleeved cables using cable combs instead. Realized I needed more cable combs to keep it tidy and have since placed order for a second batch of cable combs. Ordered some White LED Strips and a Right Angle Sata converter for my SSDs mounted on the case itself as well. Purchased an overpriced piece of Step Drill Bit from a local store to create holes on the acrylic mid-plate for the pass through fittings. I would say this is the most expensive piece of single use equipment I have bought for this build so far. I would have absolutely no use for this after I finish my build, but hey some things have to be purchased... Really worried that I might break the 3mm thick acrylic mid-plate at this stage. Planning to drill a 1-2mm pilot hole, followed by a 6mm one before using the Step Drill Bit to drill 14mm. Any tips to safely make the hole without damaging the acylic is welcome.
  17. If India is getting and understanding the concept of net neutrality right, I don't see why other developed nations can't do it. Facebook's internet.org while seeming innocent, does have a larger agenda. What would you choose? Which is a lesser evil ? Some form of internet access with Facebook pumping in funds and sacrifice some amounts of net neutrality or Have difficulty getting access to the internet with no large organization like Facebook pumping in funds and getting it right from the beginning ? 18. Day Five: Case Modding Continued 1) Mounted the Alphacool UT60 480MM Top Radiator and EK Vardars 2) Hooked up the fans to Swiftech PWM Fan Controller Was deciding between this and the NZXT Grid fan hub but decided on this after I saw Linus and team using this. Really a cheap an effective solution, especially if you have a decent motherboard from brands like Asus which have an extensive Fan Control UEFI. 3) Fixed the newly laser cut Acrylic Backplate. The SSD mount area is now lower and in line with the XSPC Photon Reservoir and motherboard tray. 4) Started messing with the wires and hooked up the custom sleeved case cables.
  19. Apologies for the lack of update(s). Was away on holiday down under for a week+ while some right angle fittings I ordered arrived.
  20. i'm not sure but can't you get rubber feets from hardware stores and just cut them to shape ? I replaced the ones my 800D with a foam one to move it around easily
  21. 1) Spray Painting the Silver PCIe Bracket Slot covers As mentioned earlier, the stock Corsair covers had too many holes for my liking. Bought some spare covers from Amazon and spray painting them Matt Black. 3 Spray Painted Matt Black covers to the left vs 3 Unpainted Silver Brackets to the right for comparison
  22. will definitely find a way to play this
  23. just watched the review man this monitor is a total beast but in love with 21:9 and I shall wait for one
