  1. Hello guys, After roughly 5 years of use my Beyerdynamic MMX300's (Gen 1) headset is done. Common issue where the cable has just utterly given up and due to it being EOL finding a replacement is difficult and expensive. Not to mention I can't solder to save my life. I absolutely loved the sound out of these things, coupled with my Sennheiser EPOS GSX 1200 Pro DAC but I'm not married to the idea of getting another gaming headset. I just want the best audio setup I can get. Whether that's a headset or separate cans and a desk mic I don't know. The only requirements are that it comes to around £200 and uses an audio jack. Oh and I prefer closed backs, only because I game in a busy living room and don't want to disturb people. So guys, what do you recommend?
  2. I've just bought these Wolverine fittings and am having a hard time getting a seal. Have you got any tips? What's the deal with the o ring in each pack? Is that a spare or the reason for my headache?
  3. So guys which gpu block would you recommend for my Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Xtreme 11264MB GDDR6?
  4. As title really guys, I'm looking at building my first custom loop in the next couple of months and trying to gauge which is the best fan to slap onto a radiator?
  5. Personally after having several AIO's over the years I honestly think in future I'd either go high end air or a custom loop, I've found them to just be too problematic over the years with pump failures, trapped air and even a leak on two separate occasions. A custom loop while more expensive, configured properly will smash even the biggest high end AIO's in terms of cooling hands down.
  6. LOL Dude! That high pitched whistling sound you keep hearing is the point you keep missing, flying about at break neck speeds ? I'm not sure if you don't get what I mean by a 1%low in games or not. In regards to any FPS increases it may not make you a better gamer but it can make your experiences far more enjoyable. Do you have 9900k envy or something?
  7. Dude you keep telling people, including myself not to OC, people specifically buy unlocked parts to be able to have a go at overclocking and want to have a go. Solving any issues is part of the fun. @Coopermar I'm having some difficulty getting stable on a 360mm AIO mostly down to tests in synthetic benchmarks. Yes it is worth OC'ing your 9900k I've seen a good increase in average FPS with better 1% lows in most games I'm playing... Plus an almost 600 point increase over stock config in cinebench R20... I've not won the silicon lottery though and have a pretty high vcore at 1.35v to get stable producing a heck ton of heat. You might be luckier than me though!
  8. Thanks, I may give this a go. Though am really not sure how much benefit I'll get on this AIO.
  9. So tried updating the bios to 11c as there was apparently a voltage fix from f10... now it doesn't hard lock it just instantly reboots lol I didn't specifically need a fix, I just like to keep up to date with all my updates etc. I'm going to go back to F9 and see how I get on. Definitely need some more robust cooling, wondering if it's worth going push pull on the rad as I guess my next step is a custom loop which is going to get pricey.
  10. Turbo boost is on, XMP is on. While my PC is a beast I got a lot of these parts with the intention of having a go at overclocking. @Jurrunio Thanks but on the f9 Bios I was 5ghz stable
  11. So what do you think is going on? As I say I'm a complete novice with this stuff.
  12. Thanks for the reply but Cinebench r20 runs no problem, and while p95 is designed to be extremely taxing I shouldn't be getting an instant hard lock and and bsod. Something just doesn't seem to be running right
  13. Okay guys, I'm having some issues with overclocking and system temps while stability testing etc and looking for some help please. Specs:- 9900k Be Quiet! Silent Loop 360mm with 3 high speed Silent Wings 3's Z390 Aorus Master (F10 Bios) 32gb Gigabyte Aorus RGB ram 3200Mhz dual channel (whoops) Gigabyte OC 1080ti Seasonic Focus Gold 750w PSU Phanteks P600s with Mesh panels with 4 140mm High Speed Silent Wings 3's Temperature wise I'm having issues with my AIO when stressing it, even at stock speeds it will regularly hit 97c during Prime 95 Small FFT's within five minutes even with all fans running 100%. I know that the 9900k is a furnace but is this normal? Everyday usage at stock speeds is okay I guess, at the high 70's or Low 80's. Overclocked at 5Ghz on the the F9 bios and it was barely hanging on in the high 80's under load. I've reseated and re pasted numerous times. The pump seems to be running fine so I'm really not sure what's going on. Is it really just not quite enough for the 9900k? Overclocking now I just can't seem to get stable and could really use some advice. My settings are:- Enhanced Multicore Performance - Disabled CPU Clock Ratio - 50 AVX Offset - 0 Intel Turbo Boost Tech - On Turbo Ratios - all @ 50 Hyper Threading Tech - Enabled Speed Shift Tech - Disabled CPU Vcore LLC - Turbo CPU Vcore - 1.3 Okay so this will happily chew through several passes of Cinebench R20 with around a 600point increase over stock. However the moment I try to run P95 or something similar the system will instantly hard lock and BSOD. Web browsing etc will work fine but gaming will randomly BSOD. I'm really not sure what's going on as I've already increased the Vcore higher than on the previous bios. I'm a complete novice with this stuff so am wondering if there is something I've missed. Can someone please help me get this figured out?
  14. Anyone know what's causing this?
  15. And it just happened on Vulkan at stock speeds...
  16. Based in the UK I believe the place I bought it from has a deal with Gigabyte, if not they'll hopefully be able to speed things up for me a bit as vendor reps frequent their forums etc...
  17. I'm trying to arrange an RMA via the retailer at the moment. Haven't got access to another GPU at the moment. The rainbow light glitch only seems to happen in DX12 titles, previously contacted Gigabyte and they claimed it might be my monitor. Though that has just been replaced, within the last 36hrs. Drivers have been updated, removed, ddu'd multiple times over the past year to no effect! That 85c was a split second thing and doesn't seem to be related , I've also bumped it up to 100% to test and it still happens even when temps are considerably lower. As I think I've already said this problem persists with or without the OC on the card, the OC just seems to increase the frequency otherwise it's been perfectly stable and benchmarked into oblivion to make sure.
  18. I bought a brand new Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080Ti Gaming OC BLACK in August 2018 and have never been quite happy with it's performance. Initially I started getting strange display issues when playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 (https://i.postimg.cc/050Y6B7Q/Untitled.jpg) (https://i.postimg.cc/cHKz1Nvr/h-lkjh.png) but only in that game. Which I now believe to be an issue my card has with using DX12. It was suggested to me at the time that this may be a monitor issue. However playing RDR2 on the PC I'm getting a similar issue when using DX12 only much less pronounced and harder to get a screen grab of. It's certainly not a monitor issue (upgraded yesterday) or a cable issue as that's all been replaced. Using Vulcan in RDR2 causes micro stutters. My other much more persistent issue has been random massive FPS drops that require a full system restart to fix. This happens in every game I play no matter which API it's using it's just a question of when not if it happens. Sometimes it can be in minutes other times after hours of play But I will drop from say a solid 90fps down to 21fps. Restarting the game or reducing settings doesn't help only a full reboot. Card has never been hotter than 80c for short periods, Airflow isn't the issue I'm using a P600s with just the mesh, 3 140mm high speed Silent Wings 3's for intake, a further 140mm high speed Silent Wing 3 on the rear exhaust and 3 120mm high speed Silent Wings 3's up top hooked up to an AIO exhausting out the roof... it moves a lot of air! It doesn't seem to be bad drivers, I've uninstalled, DDU'd drivers multiple times installing with and without the geforce experience. I thought it may be my overclock, 9900k at 5Ghz but even running everything else at stock it still happens. Overclocking the GPU makes the problem more frequent. But it seems stable otherwise at 110+ Core and 500+ memory. The only thing I've managed to catch with hwinfo is the GPU Memory (https://i.postimg.cc/nLVYYD7B/hwinfo-results.jpg) clock will sometimes plummet from the 1500Mhz range down into the 400Mhz range. Though this doesn't seem to be at the same time as the FPS drops. Motherboard has been updated to the latest bios, Aorus Master Z390. Monitor and cables have been replaced. New PSU and cables. No known issues with the board, Ram or CPU, all perfectly stable with or without my OC profile. So is it my card or is it something I've overlooked? If it is my card then what is the problem as I really can't find the answer myself?
  19. So yeah I've given up on this Aorus monitor, Gigabyte have really messed up on the launch it seems and I wasn't prepared to hold out any longer! Ended up spending more and got the LG 34GK950F on a pre black Friday sale and I'm blown away, can't recommend this monitor enough!
  20. I'm also wanting the FI27Q-P but don't know when it's getting a UK release date. Only gripe is I can't find an ultrawide with the same specs.
  21. Hi guys, Looking for some sage advice on what phone to get next. My current daily driver is the Sony XA1 Ultra which I've had for a couple of years and is plagued with issues. I'm getting everything from complete screen black outs where they only way to recover the phone is to yank out the sim, ear piercing screeching coming from the phone after long calls are ended, poor battery life and intermittent dropping of connections to devices etc. Not to mention the screen is also busted and not worth replacing. So it's time to upgrade I think... I have up to £600 ($623 usd) but I'm not necessarily looking to pay up that much, the only requirements I have is that it's not an Iphone, I hate Apple or Huawei etc due to the chance they won't be getting updates . It needs a good camera as I take a lot of pictures and I'd prefer a headphone jack. I also prefer larger phones as I have big hands and sausage fingers but that's not so much a requirement. I don't do any gaming, mostly web browsing, netflix etc and taking pictures. It is likely to get dropped due to my sausage fingers so something either rugged or with excellent cases preferred. Currently considering the Samsung A70 but am very much open to suggestions.
  22. So I'm a long time subscriber to express vpn, however I can't connect to xbox live through game pass for PC while connected to the vpn. I don't see the point in paying for a service that I have to disable when I want to play online Can anyone recommend a service that I can use with xbox live?
  23. Thanks guys, I think I've found the information I need. Assuming they're the same Phanteks fans you can buy retail the SW3's have better flow and pressure (Flow - 131.79 v 115.7) (Pressure - 2.16 v 1.62) (Noise - 28.1 v 25.3). Think I'll swap em out, had no problems with the Phanteks ones but it seems silly to have better fans gathering dust.
  24. Hi Guys, I have 3 spare 140mm Silent Wings 3 fans just laying about gathering dust. I have the P600s with it's stock fans currently. I've got to open up the PC anyway to install some custom cables I've bought but am wondering if it's worth swapping them over?
  25. Does anyone have a discount code for lastpass? I need to renew in a few days and don't get paid for another 3 weeks.... Doh!
