Livinloud got a reaction from linuxChips2600 in Hot News? More Like... HWInfo64 Now Shows Hot VRAM for RTX 3080/3090!
So I have had issues with my 3090 as well that I have taken the route of putting a heatsink with high conductive thermal pads as well has a fan duct to direct air right over the backplate. It has allowed it to stop throttling and allowed it to clock higher. When I can get a waterblock for my card I will be getting one as long as it as a active backplate as well.

Livinloud reacted to Constantin in which of these 3 psu are the best
I would go with Seasonic every day of the week

Livinloud got a reaction from Slayer3032 in Seasonic prime 1000watt platinum
So after talking to seasonic and the company they recommend I buy from via email I was able to establish most psu made with in the last few years of "seasonic only" the cables are interchangeable. I now have found out my seasonic prime 1000watt titanium is a fully functional unit and works really well. I have not attempted yet to overclock to draw power yet. But I will attempt that first before actually putting it in my every day rig.

Livinloud got a reaction from Slayer3032 in Seasonic prime 1000watt platinum
Found a 550watt seasonic for $25 with all the cables. Its being delivered next week. Seasonic sent me to a website with all the cables and I then proceeded to email that company and confirmed the cables seasonic sent me work in both so just only $25 to see if it works and if it doesn't I just sell that 550watt psu and be a wash basically. Hope I win though!

Livinloud reacted to Fletch19 in Stock Intel Cooler vs Aftermarket
Before you all start spamming "aftermarket" in the chat, I'm not getting an i9 9900k or i5 9600k that needs beast cooling to tame it. I'm getting an i3 8100, and am just wondering if it is really worth it to buy one. Some say yes, some say it is utter overkill on an i3, and I should stick to the stock Intel cooler. Just wanna see some opinions.

for an i3 8100 a stock cooler is 100% adequate.

Livinloud got a reaction from Tech Wizard in I undervolted my GTX 1080 to 0.7V - Results
Ok I don't have picture or the watts because I was using my phone to screen shot while using it remotely you can't see it at all...but on MSI I put the slider down to 50% it used average 725mV at 25c running 1047mhz core and 5500mhz memory for a score of 21432 on graphics score..that just doesn't seem right lol.
Ok suppose it is correct. Normal speed no OC score of 28450 with temp max at 38c. drawing 1025mV

Livinloud got a reaction from weeberkolos in Something locks my fps to 80 Help! Solved!
have you looked on your monitor if vsync is turned off and also on the game as well? I know you said it was off but can you have multi places
Edit: Also I saw somewhere in afterburner you can limit your FPS as well. Maybe you accidently checked it, if you are using that?

Livinloud reacted to BobVonBob in Thinking about upgrading my CPU
Depending on the speed of your DDR3 I wouldn't think it would be affecting performance too significantly, although there will be some performance loss. I would say stick with it until you are looking to upgrade to a new CPU then just grab everything that goes along with that.

When I get home i'll use my 1080ti and undervolt it and post my results for you. Though mine is watercooled and probably sitting at 16c atm.

Livinloud reacted to Spotty in ~20 second boot time with NVMe SSD
Sounds like it's just the system waiting for the HDD to spin up so it can POST. Completely normal, and nothing you can do to stop it short of unplugging the HDD.
20s is still really good boot times. Much better than the 60+ seconds with HDDs.

Livinloud got a reaction from lllJASONlll in noob to water cooling
Premix is like it says it is premixed so no adding to it. But remember a few months to a year you will need to add more as the water will evaporate even through the plastic tube unless you use hard plastic then not so much. After 3-4months I added a few Oz to my res. Froze the premix lol (it was more like a slush cube) But was just seeing if it would lower temps did for like 5seconds and cube was melted in 10-15seconds.

Livinloud got a reaction from bmichaels556 in Why Don't Dual/Quad CPU's Benefit CPU Mark Scores Much?
I don't know that answer technically but also not sure what you are using. But for my example let's use my cpu which is a i7-8700k(model 2017) 6 cores and 12 threads just like the x5675(model 2011). X5675 uses ddr3 I believe and 8700k uses ddr4. Faster. The Cache on the 8700k is more than the x5675 and also higher clock speeds. Newer tech and also new instructions in bedded in the 8700k which benchmarking the 2 against each other the 8700k is going to be 100% faster.
Pulled from google:
Cache memory is important because it provides data to a CPU faster than main memory, which increases the processor's speed. The alternative is to get the data from RAM, or random access memory, which is much slower.
