AVSHedgehog reacted to manikyath in Is this vr ready?
well, according to steam my computer is just barely on edge, and that thing is a whole lot better.. so i guess yes?
but you should go and look up the requirements of the VR games you want to play, and base yourself off of that.

Yea it's good enough for current titles. Might want a bit better GPU in the future though. Problem with VR is you need to hit a minimum FPS and latency otherwise welcome to chunder city.

idk about the Cases and motherboard. but i think is okay.
3600 for gaming is pretty good. it would handle many 1080p games. 1660 Super could handle all the game with high setting stable 60fps at 1080p resolution. but idk about RE7. the ram is pretty slow but its okay since the GPU is strong enough it wont lose a lot of frame.

AVSHedgehog reacted to Stu_Bear in What do you think?
If you want 144fps...I'd look for a high clocking Intel...8600k or 9600k for single thread performance. Also, i'd find a used gtx 1080 or 1080 ti. Just buy all the parts used and you'd likely build a better rig for same money. There's a used 1080 Ti FTW3 for $440 on fleabay...it's worth every penny assuming it's in perfect working order.

AVSHedgehog reacted to Pikatchu in What do you think?
This depends on the game, Overwatch or CSGO probably yes.
Rainbow Six Siege (the only other one I play) you would have to drop settings to hit 144Hz.
I would pick up a better motherboard for future upgrades, if you planned on upgrading 1-2 years away.
I would also pick up an 1TB SSD instead of going for SSD for boot and HDD for storage.
For me, the price of an 120GB - 250GB SSD and 1TB HDD is the same price as 1TB SSD.

There is a good youtuber thats from your neck of the woods that has a pc enthusiast/hardware/budget chanel might want to check a few videos out. Might be able to get some used hardware and then upgrade from there that could strech your budget into a really decent machine. Ill look up the chanels name.

AVSHedgehog reacted to chckovsky in I need your opinion
Wattage-wise it's probably overkill, and it has decent quality. ...but depending on your location, you should be able to get better alternatives for around the same price.
EDIT: RGB memory is not a good priority. For Ryzen, go Samsung B-die or go home (3200MHz CL14 is always B-die, and not much more expensive than "normal" RAM).

@AVSHedgehog This is a completely fine build. A rather fine one, perhaps.
You will have absolutely no issues as far as the hardware is concerned

AVSHedgehog reacted to NibbaTokyoDrift in compatible?
Make sure the motherboard is running the Latest Bios, If it isn't you'll need to check some MOBO's from a new LOT or even the X470 Lineup from ASrock. As the X370 and B350 were loaded with 1st gen Ryzen Bios. Btw Kudos on the Rig. Welcome to PCMR

AVSHedgehog reacted to SuperCloneRanger in Storage help
your pc will definitely boot faster using an ssd and you can put what you want on in. putting games on you're boot ssd will not make it slower. ssd's can start running slower if they get full as they don't have much space to move the files around, but in you keep it under 90% full you should have no issues. i recommend the samsung 860 evo, good reviews, well liked and not too expensive. its also on sale at umart, AU$120 for 500GB.

AVSHedgehog reacted to mariushm in Would a RYZEN 5 1400 work with a ______?
It's a 1st generation Ryzen, so it will work with ANY socket AM4 motherboard, including the one you mention.
ripjaws is OK memory, you want high frequency memory for Ryzen processors (2667 Mhz or higher, preferably 2933/3000Mhz )
coolermaster psus are a bit crap but 500 is plenty ... the cpu itself will probaby not use more than 60-70w and your gtx 1060 won't use more than around 130w so overall your system won't use more than 250w
bottleneck ... ryzen 1400 is a 4 core processor, so in some very few modern games having only 4 cores may be a small bottleneck. In general no, it's a great processor. It's no more of a bottleneck than Intel processors of similar price.

While I haven't used it myself, this looks pretty solid for a middle of the road option:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CCMUN8C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_W3WUBbWGJG04J
If you want something very basic that works, you could consider this:

Also consider a M.2 WiFi solution. I don't know much about these but from what I'm told they are considered the higher end for desktop WiFi.
