  1. I believe I tried this too, I changed to legacy, entered the number and it did not boot up at all. Will give it a shot again then and report back
  2. Oh trust me..I am personally going to advise everyone I know to stay away from hp for sure. It has been such a shitty experience since 2 years. My friend's acer lappy with similar spec wipes the floor with my mine. But why would the entire new ram in slot 1 be recognized as integrated memory for igpu ;_; I get the part of reserving a little memory but this seems like a bug This shitty laptop surely does not have a mux config. So that part is out of question. The factory ram provided was 3200mhz so I highly doubt that is the issue here. It works at a lower config
  3. Sweet, but I dont think the ram speed matters here no? Rams should be backwards compatible for any lower speeds tho
  4. I kind of tried this. I removed the battery connection for a minute, held the power button in that minute, started again, couldn't unplug the cmos as I couldnt find it). Same issue if I swapped the old ram from its original(secondary) slot. It feels weird cause from what I understand ram shouldn't affect on why my bios isn't being recognized right? Like I could drop in a new kit of ram and should be able to swap it and boot up right? Also I dont think it would be a faulty new ram as it kind of recognized itself but as reserved memory in the primary slot. Why does something like that happen? Even if the ram slot is faulty it shouldnt be able to recognize it right?
  5. Hey, I dont know how to verify this honestly, but I have an SK Hynix 8gb 3200mhz ram which runs at 2400 due to amd 3550h limitations. So I bought a new SK Hynix ram with same exact spec again, to avoid mismatches. Kinda feels like that might not be issue here but its HP so I might be wrong
  6. HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-Ec0101ax Currently had my ram installed in secondary slot with 5.9gb available. So bought a compatible ram and installed it in the primary slot. Now the entire new ram is shown as reserved memory. Stats are 10.1gb reserved ram and 5.9gb available. So now I tried to install the new ram in the secondary slot alone and I see 5.3 blinks on capslock and no boot screen. Even tried moving old ram to primary, facing same 5.3 blinks. Tried all possible configurations but only where the old ram is in secondary slot is booting up without throwing the blank screen with 5.3 blinks Any help? Extra context for the laptop if any relevancy:
  7. Device: HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-Ec0101ax Laptop in factory has no SSD and only HDD. Took the NVME SSD of my old laptop and migrated the win 10 from HDD to SSD(not by me, went to a HP center for it to be done) 2 years ago. Since then my laptop couldn't restart. Whenever I try to restart it throws an error Boot Device not found, install os on Hard disk, Hard Disk - 3F0 Weirdly it does not throw this error when I power it off completely(Shut down) and power on. Windows boots in from SSD without any issues. This halts me from performing any critical updates etc. Today I made a bootable USB of win10 and made a fresh install on it on SSD erasing everything hoping it clears any issue but it is the same issue. Whenever I try to restart it throws the 3F0 error above. I have to hold the power key and turn it off by force and start again to load into windows. Something I noticed today maybe off topic, my HDD is noted as Disk 0 and SSD as Disk 1, also ram was moved by the dude at the center to secondary slot instead primary. Dont know if its relevant. I am looking into articles and all since 2 years and no possible solution, tried all hp smart tests, disk tests bla bla and all resulted a PASS. Would love to have a discussion with anyone regarding the same to identify a solution. I updated the bios, reset the bios etc etc. Love to get to the bottom of this thingy!
  8. This is my boot order right now. The Kingston is my Ssd. This makes me confuse even more honestly. Unless whenever I restart it chooses the legacy boot order, there doesn't seem to be any issue with this order atleast from what I see!
  9. This part I dont know actually. Is there any process to set this right maybe? Its annoying without having a restart option
  10. I do have the HDD given by HP in it still and am using it for regular stuff. Windows was installed on C: on SSD. I had the same doubt if there's any old boot stuff like prolly cached/not removed properly but I dont know to do that and what or where to remove even
  11. I just got a new lappy back then so I didn't risk transferring it myself and trusted a local shop. If I remember correctly on what they did, they used AOMEI backupper tool to migrate the OS.
  12. Background: HP Pavillion laptop, went to a local store to transfer my OS from HDD(of my new HP laptop) to my old SSD salvaged from old lappy. Now I'm facing this weird issue whenever I try to restart my laptop I face this following image with boot device not found error. I hold down my power button and boot up by pressing it again and no issues. Also when I click Shut Down instead of restart laptop just shuts down without any issues and I boot back up normally. Issue occurs only when i try to restart the device. Because of this I'm facing troubles whenever any software requires a lappy restart or whenever I'm trying to install OS, firmware etc updates. I'm even unable to update firmware and being hit up with a message like unable to install firmware, couldn't find device files etc. Looking for any help on this case please!
  13. Laptop: asus tuf fx504gm i5 8300h So recently I've started to observe something really weird with my laptop. Whenever I start playing any game, I only am able to play for like 10 seconds and my WiFi gets disconnected and becomes invisible. As soon as I quit the game wifi gets reconnected. If it didn't I need to restart PC disable and re enable WiFi. Tried using my mobile hotspot and is the same issue. I used to use throttlestop to undervolt - 126mv but even that is locked now by a random asus bios update. I literally am unable to play anything on my Lappy... Please help!
