  2. I'm located in Canada and the budget around 300$ Cad it will be nice, of curse since it's something that I need professionally and can determinate the quality of my products I'm willing to spend more. When I google those device there is one that come out well from some review https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000FBK3QK/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=productkar-20&camp=15121&creative=330641&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B000FBK3QK&linkId=2b87ab85bf148598aced28c1a371ca6a
  3. Hello, I'm looking for an UPS battery that can handle a workstation with a 1000W PSU and 2 monitors at full load (ideally) for few min (the time to save the work and shut down the machine), any experience on the field that you like to share? Any suggestion for a potential good product to buy? Any useful information will prevent me to swear a lot ^^ Cheers
  4. Are the UAP-AC-PRO-5 compatible? Maybe the integrated switch on the Dream machine is compatible?
  5. My need is to have a secure internet and secure my property and have control of the internet traffic + router configurations ( I like to create different type of environments/labs for learning purposes ). Yes 24 ports is a reasonable number for my set up/ needs. I will definitely check Ubiquiti design center thanks for the suggestion.
  6. yes I run my business from home, so all of this is to secure my property and have a solid internet access all around the house (basement, 2 floor , garage and garden). Not sure 1 single mesh is enough to have a solid signal all around the house and the garden around (1 Acre)
  7. Hello, soon I will have my new house and I'm looking for a New network set up, I was thinking to go with Ubiquiti products: -Unifi Dream machine pro -Ubiquiti USW-24-POE 10 Gbit switch -3x unifi wifii 6 lite access point -3x Unifi G4-Bullet Camera - 1x Unifi G4-Doorbell What do you guys think? There are different interesting options for this kind of set up on similar budget? Maybe there is something new coming out soon that I'm not aware so it's worth to wait few months? I'm open to suggestions Cheers Frank
  8. hey Allan, thanks for the info, I have an Asus RT-AC86U, I'm checking right now if I can create a separated network with it ...there is a dual WAN setting that I can enable, but I'm not sure...I need to investigate more on the subject! Cheers
  9. Hello, I'm looking for advices, I want to join an opensource project, and to do so I need to create a node for their network, but since I'm not a big fan of opening port to allow traffic on my local network I'm thinking to put a small raspberry pi on DMZ as a node for them. Now I'm not sure that can be done in a secure way and if yes where I need to put attention to keep my private network secure? Any advice and suggestion it's super welcome! Cheers
  10. Hello everybody, here I share my latest little side project: the second custom smallest raspberry pi desktop mini tower case. Here if you want the STL 3D model and support me https://frankart.gumroad.com/l/BhhJe -Modelled and design it using Moi3D. -Prusa 3mks as the 3D printer. -White PLA filament. -Raspberry Pi 4b+ 8gb. -I2C OLED 0.96 Inch OLED Display. -Micro SD Card 32 Gb. -Black Ice Tower cooler. -Noctua thermal paste. -Wire Loom Braided Wire Sleeve PET Braided. -1mm thick Plexiglass panel. -M3 screws + M3 square nuts for the overall assembly. The challenge for this little project was to put the motherboard vertically in manner to make it looks like a traditional ATX desktop tower without compromise the functionality, the design and the minimalistic aspect. For the mini OLED Display I use this post as reference to modify the Python File https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=308968 . The code allow to Display the local IP, CPU frequency and temperature, Memory and Disk usage. Hope you like it cheers
  11. There are many holes all around, and let be honest, is a raspberry pi, some people run them without a cooler ^^ temperature are absolutely fine
  12. Yess I was thinking about it but is kind of weird to have some cable coming out from the top side, they may make the tower unstable :/, but for sure its an option I took in consideration, and I may develop it for the next little project
  13. Hello, for sure it's not the smallest desktop ever done, but it's pretty small ...so I put together a Raspberri pi 4b 8gb (overclocked) with an ICE Tower cooler and an RGB OLED 1.5 inch Display (128 x 128 pixel). I designed the case in Moi3D and printed with a PRUSA i3 MKs. As a prototype I'm pretty happy with the result even if the finishing of the print is not super amazing, I'm actually investigating to find ways to get a perfect finishing looking quality of the prints (not that easy with a filament printer). Hope you like it, let me know if you have questions. Cheers
  14. Hello, here last build project, I designed and modeled and then 3D printed the structure. -Raspberry Pi 3b+ -7 inch IPS Touchscreen Monitor, TeNizo 1024x600 Capacitive Touch Screen HD HDMI -Usb wifi adapter TP link (just because it looks cool with it ^^ ) Softwear use to CAD modeling: MOI3D 3d Printer: Prusa i3mks Hope you enjoy it
