  1. so I want to hackintosh my PC. But I don't have a mac in order to download the macOS Mojave installer to create a usb boot drive so i can install it. The logical flix is to use a virtual machine, but after 2 months of trying to so it i can't go on any longer. I managed to boot into a macos vm, after about 2 weeks of it not working, for no apparent reason, but it was so slow and buggy that i couldn't physically use it to download the installer. Finder kept crashing, app store wouldn't load, etc. tried different VMs, tried so many things and i can't get it to work. Is there any way i can download an instaler without a mac or a VM? I'm just so fed up of trying and it failing again and again, i thought i'd try and find another way. Any help very much appreciated.
  2. Where can i find a KVM? I've had a look, only synergy comes up
  3. well I'm not sure about their laptops but walmart's PCs are pretty terrible, so i would probably go somewhere else for better value. A desktop will definitely be cheaper than a laptop, and what PC you get really depends on your budget. Around the $800 mark there are some very good value ryzen CPUs. pair that with a cheap am4 mobo and 16gb ram and you've got a great budget PC. Obviously building yourself will be the more cost efficient option, but if you want to go prebuilt i recommend cyberpower. They let you pick the parts, and have one of the lowest manufacturing costs.
  4. So i want to run macOS High Sierra or Mojave in a VM on my windows PC. I watched a load of tutorials online, and none worked. i then read that you can't run macOS, even in a VM, with an AMD processor, and i have an fx 6300. Is there really no way at all for me to run a VM with macOS?
  5. i was thinking that, i will try it before i go ahead with this build but i want the macOS machine in a different room to my windows pc.
  6. okay, thanks. Will those definitely work with MacOS? one of the reasons I'm going with Intel is how well it works with macOS, especially intel's integrated graphics.
  7. Hey I am looking to build a budget computer to load MacOS onto. This is the first time i've done this. My budget is £300 (but the lower the better, i'm a student i don't have money lol), and i based this build loosely around Snazzy Labs's $350 hackintosh. i already have a 500gb hard drive which i will use too Not gonna be using it for gaming (my windows rig is for that), but maybe some very light video and photo editing, plus casual browsing etc. What do you think? What's good, and what should i change? 8. Okay thanks. The Mhz behind 12800 just threw me off.
  9. So i decided i wanted to get some more ram for my pc. I wasn't sure of the exact spec so i opened up my pc and had a look. the attached image is my ram. i then had a look online to see if i could find some. But i couldn't find it. Anywhere. I looked on the mem-star website and the closest they had was the second attached image. I don't think it's the same. the ram says 12800Mhz, but I'm pretty certain thats not a thing. HELP
  10. I'm not going to return it, because it does everything i need right now. When i start needing more than it can give me I'll upgrade motherboard cpu and ram.
  11. I think i would probably want to switch to DDR4 anyway.
  12. Yeah, that was what i thought. I just wish i got a more upgrade friendly motherboard, so i don't have to replace that too
