I was part of the team that developed the Desert Combat mod for BF 1942, and a founding member of both AGW and AGB clans who both played a lot of BF 1942.

Tbh I'd play the original with no functional changes if they just stripped out all the account and DRM crap which they mas as well do at this point given the age.  For that matter I'd love a redo of BFBC2, and by redo, I mean just take the existing game and add an FOV slider so it's playable on a modern 16:9 panel.

To be fair the Australian government is technically challenged (and other choice words) this is the same government that thinks that the internet we have now is perfectly acceptible is today's world.

Oh boy I'm feeling such an idiot being able to max settings whatever game that exists at 3440x1440p100fps.

He plays with Vsync on at 60Hz at 1080p.......... He should trade in his 2080Ti for a 1060 6GB......... With Vsync on he will never see a performance upgrade with anything better than a 1060. He needs to get a 144Hz 1440p gaming monitor asap lol. A part of me just died reading this haha.

I plugged a 4 pin floppy connector into a CD aux connector on a sound card when I was quite young. The blue smoke that made the sound card work escaped.

I'm sure some adults are just as immature as a 10 year olds, and shouldn't be allowed to spend their money either.
