  1. How about one 1440p monitor and a 6600k? I think that would be the best combination for gaming compared to the choices you listed.
  2. Except it's way easier to kill somebody with a gun than with a knife, club, or your fists. I generally lean towards "pro-gun", but that argument is invalid.
  3. In what world does a stock 8320E beat an overclocked 4690k in R15?
  4. Windows scaling is fine, it's just that some non-microsoft programs don't scale properly and are blurry - and it's the programmers' fault. Steam vs Skype and Chrome for example, can you tell the difference in sharpness? https://gyazo.com/34d70f0fb706b8fe57cb0eb9b0d47c9a
  5. Normal temps for a laptop, they're made to handle those temperatures. Don't worry about it.
  6. I'm not sure how it would do with CPU encoding. However, there's always AMD GVR which can record at 1080p 60fps with barely any FPS loss. In my experience it's pretty good.
  7. It will get less FPS than something like a 4690k, but it will still be well over 60, so don't worry about it.
  8. The 390 isn't even factored into the price. @OP the build looks good to me, but I'm unfamiliar with the PSU. It could be good, but I'm not sure.
  9. Really depends on the game. In Arma 3, DayZ, FSX, many MMOs, and other single core heavy games, it will bottleneck. In something like Witcher 3, there won't be much of a bottleneck at all.
  10. The first image looks like it has motion blur. If you don't really know how to use a DSLR, your best bet is to increase the light in the room so it automatically makes the shutter speed faster. If you cannot do that, go into shutter priority mode, marked by an S, and take the current focal length (you probably have an 18-55 lens), multiply it by 1.5, and take the reciprocal of that. Your shutter speed should be >= that. So if you were zoomed in to 55mm, you would do 55 * 1.5 = 82.5 or 1/82.5. You should set your shutter speed to 1/80 of a second. If you were zoomed out to 18mm, you would do 18 * 1.5 = 27 or 1/27. You should set your shutter speed to 1/30 of a second.
  11. But is it focusing correctly? You may be too close, or the light may be too low to be able to focus correctly. You could upload an image you took so we'd be able to help you better.
  12. The list price is irrelevant, and the card is overpriced considering you can get a R9 380 for a little more.
  13. If you want to play AAA titles at 4k, yes a 980ti is worth it. Another option would be R9 390's, as they are a great value at 4k. To answer the original question, the 3.5GB vram won't limit a 970's performance at 4k, as by the time a game requires more than 3.5GB vram, your FPS will be very low anyways. Two 970s may be a whole different story though. I have a R9 290, which performs similarly to a 970 at 4k, and a 4k monitor, so if you have any questions about what games I can run let me know.
  14. Water isn't going to instantly destroy your components if they're powered off. Take everything that got water on it apart (i.e. take the motherboard out of the case) and make sure it's completely dry before powering it on again and it should be fine.
  15. If you like the GTA franchise, definitely.
  16. It should do great in those listed games at 4k. Even in BF4, I can nearly max it out at 4k >60fps with an R9 290. After all, it is an incredibly well optimized 2013 title.
  17. There will be black bars on both sides of 16:9 video; it probably won't be very distracting after a few days/weeks of use. I would go with the 1440p 165Hz. I haven't used high refresh rates, but everybody always says they help a ton for FPS's and make things a lot smoother.
  18. What about this? On sale for $140, it'll be the best value out of anything recommended here for your needs. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202128&cm_re=R9_285-_-14-202-128-_-Product
  19. If you play single player games and/or like to relax and enjoy the beauty, go 4k. If you play racing or flying games/watch 21:9 movies a lot/want the aspect ratio for screen real esate, go 3440x1440p. If you play FPS's competitively, get 1440p 144Hz. Just my opinion. Do note, while two 980ti's will be able to max out (or get very close to it) in every current game, they won't be able to for a long time (at 4k).
  20. In non cpu demanding games at high resolutions, you'll probably be fine (like Tomb Raider 2013). Other than that, it will bottleneck like crazy most of the time and be a waste of GPU power until you get a new CPU.
  21. On fairly light-weight racing games on lower settings, yea. Newer AAA titles? No. You'll want something like a R9 390 or better for that.
  22. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438054 $60 after MIR. 9.6/10 on jonnyguru http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=429
