For the past few weeks I’ve noticed that by computer has been making a strange noise. It only happens about once every 1-2 hours and I hear it every time I power my computer off. The CPU fan and cooling fan are still spinning when the noise is heard on shutdown. I suspect it could be PSU related but I could be wrong. I just bought the power supply at the beginning of this year to replace my Thermaltake Smart Series G2 model since I got an RTX card later in the year (this August). Is this anything to be concerned about? Video of sound is attached. My internet has been really annoying me lately. I usually play Fortnite and other PC games or just watch Twitch streams and I've noticed that my internet frequently has problems. Sometimes it's spikes of 200-400+ ms or just constant 100+ ms and goes up and down between my usual ping (~25 ms) and in the hundreds. My Desktop PC is in the basement and the dual router/modem is upstairs. I haven't had any problems with the internet connection until recently these past 2-3 months. At first it wasn't that bad but now it feels like it's getting worse and happens more often then it should. Internet Company: Bell Connection type: Wireless (WiFi) Wireless Card: QualComm Atheros AR9287 Router/Modem: Bell Home Hub 3000 My parents called Bell about the problem and they did a distant "diagnosis" from their work center to try and fix the problem. The internet worked fine afterwards for a few weeks and then the lag problems came back again. I talked with some friends that know a bit of this internet stuff and I was told that dual modem/routers that are provided by the internet company are usually bad.I asked my parents if we can just try to use a separate router and modem setup and they said no to that too. I honestly don't know what to do. This is really annoying me because I can't play any game at all and my parents won't listen to me because they don't notice the lag from the usage of their phones and they won't let me try to use an Ethernet cable. We pay for 50 Mbps internet (Fibe 50 package) when it is constantly at 10-30 Mbps. I even made a video showing how bad it can be sometimes. I don't understand where the source of the problem is. Bell claims to be the fastest and best internet in my province (QC), but recently it hasn't been that great of an experience for me. I've been using PingPlotter for 2 months and constantly check where the packet loss is coming from and it's usually from Hop 3 or any other servers. In my previous post, I was suggested by numerous people (and from PC technicians that I know personally) to get a new power supply to fix my booting problem. I just put in a new EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750w PSU to replace my Thermaltake SMART 700w PSU. The PC still does the same thing. It won’t turn on properly without having to press the restart button. Instead of normally hearing a beep noise when it turns on, everything runs inside the PC and I hear a buzz noise coming from the interior instead of a beep when booted. So what is the problem now? CPU: intel i7-4790 Quad Core @ 3.6 gHz GPU: ASUS DUAL GTX 1060 3GB OC EDITION RAM: 2x8 GB HyperX Chips (DDR3 @ 1333 MHz) PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750w Motherboard: ASUS H97M-E [CSM] Motherboard

Lots of recommendations on that one. What other ones are better though?

Replacing my Thermaltake SMART 700w (5.9” x 5.5” x 3.4”) with an EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750w (7” x 5.9” x 3.39”) in my case (7.3” x 16.2” x 17.3”). Cutting it close with the 7” PSU width and 7.3” case width but is that enough free space to fit?

I just checked my PSU. It’s a 600w thermaltake. Should I try a different brand with the same amount of watts?

This past summer I went on vacation and left my computer at home. I turned off the power supply on the back of my PC but I don't think I unplugged it from my power strip. I come back 2 months later and whenever I try to boot it, the fans start running but the occasional beep sound that I get does not play. When I turn the monitor on it displays a gray screen saying "DVI-D No Signal" and then the screen turns off but the PC fans are still running. The only way I know how to temporarily fix it and have it boot completely is to hold down the restart button (next to the power on/off button). I tried turning off the power supply and then turning it back on and trying to boot it, but a message will appear saying that there was a power supply surge and brings me to the BIOs screen. Everything looks fine on the menu. Both fans running and CPU/motherboard temps are fine. What is wrong with my PC? I feel like it's not normal to use the restart button to turn on my computer 9/10 times. Sometimes it will fully boot up but I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just random. I updated GPU drivers and still no luck.
