I'd recommend doing some more troubleshooting with the card. For example taking the card out and installing the driver that way or seeing if the computer will boot out of the windows screen without the card in. It sounds like you have a bad card. -

How long did you wait until you restarted your computer? The screen going blank randomly should be common during driver updates/installs. -

If the budget allows it, get the RX 580 4GB.
