Dreadnought reacted to Jurrunio in Best Budget RAM for R5 3600
Only rated combinations of frequency and timings matter, not models. Peel away the heatsinks and RGB, theose with the same frequency and timings are the same.
3200 CL14 is better than 3600 CL18 does not mean you shouldnt tighten timings while running higher frequency, such as 3600 CL16. Besides 3600 CL18 kits tends to use dies that do better with high frequency looser timings than lower frequency really tight timings.

Dreadnought reacted to BruceWayneofLosSanto in Best Budget RAM for R5 3600
Patriot viper looks more likely to do cl14 3200mhz. I would go with cl 18 3600mhz myself and just try to reduce cas to 16, should be easy with a bit of voltage. 3200mhz@1800mhz fclock is pointless if your ram can actually do 3600mhz.

If you can these are Samsung bdie chip that can do 3600 at c16 well the one i have can and i can do 3800 at c16 and 17
Easy 3200 at c14 since all you go todo is turn on xmp.
I sometimes see the
T team force on sale for around 110.

Dreadnought reacted to alyen in B450 Pro 4 Bios Update
Just install the 3600 with the current BIOS. It probably won't have any problems so you may not want to update the BIOS if things are working fine. I'm unclear if ASRock BIOS can be flashed back to previous version or not when I see the way they have instructions.
Back in December I upgraded to BIOS to 3.90 while I still had a 2700X (Pinacle Ridge) installed for a week working fine, but upgraded to a 3900X. My guess is 3.90 works for 2nd and 3rd Gen Ryzens. I only took the risk of updating BIOS, because the RBG controls was no longer working after a Windows update or when I power on the computer the next day.

The 3500 is better for most games in the here and now, and you have plenty of upgrade options in the future if you need more CPU horsepower.

Dreadnought reacted to SavageNeo in RX 570 vs RX 580, is the RX 580 worth getting?
Well rx 580 is better than rx 570. But 16gb ram on dual channels is better than that rx580.
Get that rx 570

Dreadnought got a reaction from Dkaya in Samson SR850 vs Philips SHP9500
If I were to get the SHP9500, do you think these vmoda boompro copies are worth getting? Because the original cost $40, while this is only $12 and has good reviews.

Dreadnought reacted to HanZie82 in How to use phone only mic on PC
That microphone probably uses the 4-pole 3,5mm headset connector. And the PC uses the old standard stereo connections that are only 3-pole.
As you can see on the picture, your microphone most likely has the most right connection style (guessing by that it works on your phone).
But the computer only accepts up to the middle one. But you could also do with left most since microphones mostly are mono and not stereo.

Dreadnought reacted to jiyeon in How to install other switches on Tecware Phantom
I own a GK61 and my buddy @Den-Fi owns a GK64, both of us will tell you the software can be quite a hurdle if you don't understand Chinese. The software is super concise though, allowing you to re-map pretty much every key, and also lets you set per-key RGB if you wish.
The GKXX keyboards are great hot-swappable keyboards.

Looks good!
The only thing I kind dislike about 60% boards (and that is nothing specifically against this one) is that the keycaps on the bottom right are not standard..
And personally I would like to still have F-keys too.

Dreadnought reacted to minibois in How to install other switches on Tecware Phantom
Well.. I see now why Outemu is a brand/line of switches I would never recommend...
Looks like they cloned Cherry MX in every way, except for the size of the pins.
Their legs are narrower, so you would have to cut the legs of any other switch, but the legs are so small already I couldn't recommend that..
Looks like Outemu is the only choice you could make in this case..

With that headphone? Honestly stick with your mobo as it should be good enough and those budget DACs are only good imo if you are running a laptop with a crap output or a old pc

That's cool. I think I liked that more than the original GMK Carbon, and it's also way cheaper I'll get that, thanks for the info!
-
Dreadnought reacted to Firewrath9 in Help me finding this set of keycaps
looks like a GMK carbon, but those run around 200-300$ for the base kit.
GLHF!

Dreadnought reacted to seon123 in Help me finding this set of keycaps
The keycaps look similar to this keycap set. Different coloured legends on the alphas, though.
https://drop.com/buy/gmk-carbon-custom-keycap-set
The layout is a WKL 75%. Don't think I know of any, but for a 75%, there's e.g. the KBD75.
https://kbdfans.com/products/kbd75-keyboard-set
WKL layouts are a thing, and some prefer having the space bar upside down.

Under load that is totally fine (assuming an ambient temp of around 20-30 C)

Dreadnought reacted to rice guru in Samson SR850 vs Philips SHP9500
For me still the cooler masters the shos are better for gaming but if I don't have any other headphone I would prefer to have a good all rounder and the cooler masters to be are a better all rounder good for gaming as well as music. So are the shps but the lack of bass kills it for me.

My vote is for the takstar pro 82 much more comfortable than the m40x and arguably better sound but honestly they play on the same level of fidelity only differences are sound signatures, soundstage , and imaging
