  1. I’ve been trying to get Kerberos and LDAP working such that I can share users between multiple machines on a network, similar to how a traditional Windows AD domain would work, except in my case all machines will be Linux. I’ve got as far as setting up Kerberos on the server and a test client with the domain/realm TEST.RHYSPERRY.COM (yes - it redirects a a rickroll when accessed from the internet, but I'm only using the domain on my internal network). I can test it’s working as I can use kinit on the test client to get a ticket for a user principal created on the server. I’m currently however struggling how I would get this configured to the point where I can create a user on the server, and then I can fully log in as that user from the client machine e.g. from gdm. I’ve had a look around, and most articles seem to suggest that LDAP can be used for this, however I’ve so far been unsuccessful in configuring LDAP to work with Kerberos. The Arch Wiki article for LDAP doesn’t mention Kerberos at all. I also recognize that I might want to spin up another server (the entire network and machines are virtual for now while I test things) for storage e.g. for an NFS /home mount. Any tips or pointers are appreciated. I’ve not been able to find any articles that cover the entirety of the process from start to finish, so it’s kinda hard to understand how every bit fits together. Both the server and all the clients will be running Arch. (yes I know, but it’s what I’m familiar with and what I’m comfortable with)
  2. Hi, I have a Pixhawk 6C running Ardurover. I intend to use manual control and a joystick on the groundstation to control it. As far as I can tell, I have managed to set everything up correctly; I have followed the Ardupilot wiki guides and successfully setup servo outputs, joystick inputs and RC calibration. I can confirm this is working as expected because moving an input on my joystick shows the intended effect on the servo page. I have connected the servo to FMU1 on the Pilot, and provided an external 5V power source to the servo (sharing a common ground with the battery running the pilot). I can successfully arm the Pixhawk, but whenever I move the joystick the servo doesn’t actually move. Can you give me any advice on what might be wrong? Pre-arming the I/O LEDs are solid green (PWR) and flashing blue (ACT), and the FMU LEDs are solid green (power) and flashing red (B/E). Post-arming the I/O LEDs are the same but the red FMU LED goes solid.
  3. Hi, I am looking for a laptop to get for my school this year and was looking for suggestions. My budget (a loan from the bank of mum and dad) is £500 but I might be able to get them to consider £700. The laptop would help to have a good battery as I will be using it for school work during the day but I would also like to be able to run the latest games (even though I won’t admit this to the bank manager). Storage wise I would hope for an SSD boot drive but would be fine with a hard drive (min 1TB). As always, thanks to anyone that helps!

  7. I’m a graphic designer ( the sort that spends my whole day watching something render) and I also do a lot of gaming.
  8. I am new to building my own PCs but have quite a bit of experience with hardware and gaming. I was thinking of building the following build by paying with my soul, social security number and kidneys. But before I do I wanted to make sure I got nothing wrong. BTW in know the build is OTT but I’m hoping it’ll last at least 5 years. Build on PcPartPicker
