ok you have to remember this is a tv, not a monitor. your trying to make the tv use resolutions it does not support
1080p @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 Yes 1080p @ 120Hz  Yes (native support) 1440p @ 60Hz  No 4k @ 30Hz @ 4:4:4 Yes 4k @ 60Hz Yes 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 Yes 4k @ 120Hz No   All the common input resolutions are supported. For the TV to properly display 4:4:4 color, the HDMI input in use must have its icon changed to 'PC'. To play 4k @ 60 Hz @ 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 color, 'HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color' in the general settings must be enabled for the input being used.
Update 05/31/2017: 1080p @ 120 Hz + HDR does not work properly. Its brightness appears to be following the SDR gamma curve rather than the HDR PQ curve, making everything look off and too bright.
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c7-oled   also need to make sure your plugged into the right hdmi on the tv on some units. and have seen tv's be picky about hdmi cables used.

most likely you damaged the display...from reading doing 75hz is ok (but still risky) but going above that caused the display to fail like your experiencing not to long after

i know this both tvs audio wise are the same (hell majority of samsungs)
ARC Yes (HDMI 4) eARC support No Dolby Atmos via TrueHD via eARC  No DTS:X via DTS-HD MA via eARC No 5.1 Dolby Digital via ARC Yes 5.1 DTS via ARC No 5.1 Dolby Digital via Optical Yes 5.1 DTS via Optical  No   for audio your better going to the avr or bar then to the tv. going tv to your audio source is limited   windows and hdr is hit and miss. it does work with games and certain players. going from comp to tv for hdr10 isnt best, you get limited from the hdmi cable's bandwith so you sacrifice something for 10bit or 12bit like no 444 only 422 or no 60htz only 30htz.
but devices like firestick, roku, plex boxes do as good if not better then tvs onboard apps with hdr

In case anyone finds this in the future:

It mysteriously went away. I believe it had something to do with power - as the sound system was plugged into the same powerstrip as my PC and monitor, and I'm not sure the powerstrip liked that too well. I say this because I rearranged my room and plugged them into a lone socket in the wall and now I can blast these babies like I was before.

However.. very confused how this only started happening recently. Like, it's always been plugged into that powerstrip, nothing changed with my PC, and one day it just decided to be distorted.

Links to replacement drivers would be appreciated in case the satellites blow and I need some replacements

Speaking as a home user without enterprise experience, it’s enterprise level Networking stuff.
The forum is mostly home computer gaming, but Most enterprise level people do home computer stuff as well, and the two get blurred at the workstation level.  Does qualify as tech news, and it may have an impact on consumers because someone is going to miss that their big iron has a new vulnerability and home users may get their data stolen.  Again.

personally I like that it was announced here even if it has no impact on gaming from a home user standpoint because it’s the kind of information that needs to go out as far and as fast as possible.

circeseye reacted to bravetriforcer in anyone have MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus Motherboard?
I used this exact board for 2 days this week and it was trash in my experience. Some case fans wouldn't start up properly.  It had a "Start-stop-start" rhythm whenever it turned on.  It hardware reserved half my RAM when using all 4 DIMMS.  Clunky, difficult to navigate BIOS that was treating a bunch of USB and CD drives as bootable things in the boot priority manager despite me not even having a CD drive installed.  I had to go into the advanced Boot Options menu to actually see my M.2 and HDD as boot options.

It's possible I got a particularly bad run's board but I strongly, strongly recommend against this specific mobo after the grief it gave me.  I'd expect you'd get some problem like the M.2 slot running at SATA speeds or something.  I switched to an ASUS Prime X570 Plus I had bought as a backup and in comparison, everything actually works as intended.  It can actually use 4 sticks of the same RAM!
