  1. So a few apps including Discord and VS Code are either a black rectangle or unresponsive when I boot up my laptop. Every time I start the laptop I have to go in to the task manager and end all of the programs that are unresponsive so that I can run them again. At first I thought this was just a Discord problem but now that another app does this I am suspecting something with the operating system. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!
  2. Thanks! The latest bios update I can find on the ASUS site is the one I have from 2015. https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/M32AD/HelpDesk_Download/ Windows also says my USB drivers are up to date so I don't think I can update them.
  3. I should also mention that I have tried taking my graphics card out and testing the mouse then, and it didn't seem to have the issue anymore. The obvious problem though is that the integrated graphics on the processor are terrible and I have a 1440p ultra-wide monitor, whose resolution is not supported with the integrated graphics.
  4. So I've had this issue with my desktop for at least 6 months or so now, where my mouse cursor refuses to move sometimes and jumps around the screen / stutters. Just dragging it in circles it will eventually freeze for a half second and then jump back. I've asked for help on here before, and people suggested to completely uninstall and reinstall all graphics drivers, which I did, but it didn't help. It is also not the mouse or USB port because it happens with every port and every mouse that is connected. I have searched the internet for days and changed countless settings but nothing works. I can't find a correlation with high CPU or GPU usage either when the stutters happen. Makes playing games like Minecraft impossible. Basic specs: i3-4160 GTX 1050ti 500W PSU 250GB SSD 1TB HDD This has gotten to the point where I no longer want to use the computer and I don't think I could sell it for anything because that fact it is so annoying to use. Any last suggestions before I give up hope on this desktop? Thanks!
  5. That might have fixed it!!! Also, changing my refresh rate fromm 100 to 60Hz may have stopped the screen flashing. Thanks!
  6. I'll check it out. After I uninstall should I just re download the latest Geforce drivers?
  7. So here are my desktop specs (upgraded ASUS prebuilt over the years): i3-4170 GTX 1050ti 500W Power Supply 250GB SSD 1TB HDD 35" 1440p ultra wide monitor I have been running into issues with my mouse occasionally stuttering while I drag it from side to side and my screen flashes black for 2 seconds sometimes, especially when I bump my desk. It is not the mouse or USB ports that are the issue, I've tested multiple of each. I bought the 1050ti a year or two ago refurbished but it works great except I am starting to suspect there is a CPU bottleneck that could be causing these issues. I took out the GPU to see if the issues disappeared and they did (expect the graphics were garbage because of the old iGPU). Does this sound like a bottleneck to you guys or just signs of a dying GPU? If it is a CPU bottleneck, what would be the cheapest way to improve it? Should I just buy a new Ryzen motherboard / CPU combo? Thanks!
  8. So I successfully copied everything over to a new SSD but I would like to still use my HDD for extra storage. It currently has all the same files still (including a bunch of Windows stuff that I don't think I need anymore). I would like to just have games on it, so what is the best way to clear everything from this hard drive? Thanks!
  9. What "cloning software" do you recommend? The partition software I mentioned doesn't clone, it moves (which I want. I don't want to move everything over because I don't have the room)
  10. Nope. That's the main issue I'm trying to get around. This parition software seems to work well for most.
  11. So I'm getting a 256 GB SSD for my PC tomorrow and just want to make sure my setup plan is OK. My PC currently has a 1TB HDD with around 400 GB used. Here is my plan: Put SSD in PC Run MiniTool Partition Wizard and move OS onto new SSD Update BIOS Settings if needed Move program files over from HDD to SSD that I want to be fast (idk how to do this properly) Is this an OK plan?
