  1. It can't be windows power settings making the CPU report 8GHz before the OS is even booted in BIOS. Very odd issue for sure.
  2. Just swapped around my inputs and still no dice... Also x4 mode on m.2_2 disables SATA5/6 Current config:
  3. Yeah so the new m.2 SSD is inserted into slot M.2_1 There is nothing plugged into SATA5 or 6.
  4. All I see in the BIOs are my 6 available sata slots. Nothing about the two m.2 slots I have.
  5. Isn't detected by Explorer, Disk Manager or an External tool, MiniTool Partition Wizard.
  6. I installed an Intel M.2 PCIE x4 into my motherboard (ROG String Z370-e) and I cannot get it to detect. This is actually my second one because I figured the first was dead. I have gone into the Bios and set it manually to run as PCIE x4, that did not work either. Any advice?
  7. Well Mr. Delphi It seems as if slot 3 is no good. My old man will have to settle for 8GB of RAM for now. Thank you so much! Seems like Windows is now installing properly. I assume RAM can be corrupted as well from a hard restart during a windows update?
  8. Just loaded it to a usb drive, running now, It's showing nothing BUT errors but this program also seems very old? It's last update was 2013 and does not even read it as DDR4, it's showing DDR3..
  9. I cannot get into windows to run any type of utilities. But as I mentioned I have tried with another set of RAM and another hard drive. more errors.
  10. Set up some sort of home automation with it or, Plex servers are really easy and definitely useful!
  11. So I've clean installed a hundred times and this time it's literally killing me. Windows was corrupt after my father reset the PC during an update. Repair PC did not work, restore points did not work. So I move on to a clean install. I moved his files with a hard drive toaster. I attempted to clean install several times now and get a different error almost every time. Errors include: "Windows files may be corrupt" 0x80070570 "Windows files may be corrupt" 0x800702D BSOD Errors: BAD_POOL_HEADER IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED I have tried new RAM, removing the GFX Card completely, and even installing on a different hard drive. I have also tried with three different boot medias: Media Creation USB Stick, Manually burned ISO USB, and the actual Windows Disk.
  12. SOoOoOoOo..... It appears as if Asus's EUFI Basic setting setting between Normal, Fast and Extreme was on. I put it back to Normal and it appears to be fixed. Thank you everyone for all of your help. I feel like this setting should work but with an 8700k and my uses, I shouldnt need to overclock it.... ever? (tm) Thank you everyone for your help!
  13. I have not OC'd it and have no experience doing so. How can I go about tuning it?
  14. Right, no crashes which is weird because when I load semi-intensive games like warframe, it instantly gives BSOD....
