  1. Yes I’m aware. I hadn’t considered that sensors on the main board that speed fan would have seen had changed that much since 2017
  2. Under create power plan for Balanced or Performance there’s a tab for advanced power options, there you see CPU power management and under that tab you set the CPU Boost behavior as you want it
  3. Ryzen master shows the CPU is clocking speeds below 1.0ghz idle with random wild spikes up to 3.0ghz and temps around 45° with Boost off, and power plan set to balanced. Now the Boost was set to Aggressive so it was hitting 4.0ghz+ 100% all the time even if the workload didn’t call for it
  4. Yes I use HWinfo, and Ryzen Master and they had the same info as Task Manager, also use Omen Gaming hub and Core Temp, and MSI Afterbuner. Tried SpeedFan but it won’t detect my case or cpu fans only my GPU Fans
  5. It was the factory HP AIO 120 MM cooler I swapped for a Noctua U9S with dual 92mm fans and turned the Boost off and now my temps never go above 65°
  6. Yes but my cpu was hitting high 70°’s mid 80°’s just checking emails, and idled at windows in the 55°-65° area…90° is the TJ.Max
  7. Ryzen 7-5800x hits max boost frequency 100% of the time even while under 5% cpu load idle at windows. had to go to windows registry to unlock the CPU power management boost disable option, and disable the boost, now it remains at its base clock 100% of the time even when idle at windows…. i feel like maybe it’s overworking itself for no reason. power plan set to performance advice?
  8. Got my Noctua U9S installed with dual fans push and pull, and cpu temps are the same!!! If not worse….. I don’t understand…. Guess I’ll have to try a 120mm air cooler, or just tear this HP down for parts and build my own… this is ridiculous
  9. i already have the noctua u9s in hand id have to order the thermaltake one..... 7-10 business days.... i can try the noctua for now and run benches on it.
  10. I’ll try that one too, right now I’m going trial error.
  11. CPU Ryzen 7-5800x, idle temps 50 degrees C, with random spikes to 65-70 degrees C, just running windows and other general tasks. and gaming it throttles at 85 degrees C and spikes at 90-92 and powers down. it has a HP factory AIO and HP techs assure me that it was engineered to run hot........ya ok i can do better........ also dumb note..... its a AMD CPU yet the MoBo cpu cooler mounting bracket is set to INTEL spacing why does HP make my brain hurt..........? i am going to replace the AIO with a Noctua U9S Chromax Black addition with two fans set to push and pull. has anyone else done this mod? any advice? yeah i know throw the HP out a window and build one myself......
  12. I owned a HP years ago with Windows 98se and it was one of the best computers I ever owned…. Then I owned a HP Pavilion with windows 7 and also had no issues…. This is the first time for me having issues with HP
  13. I’ve posted about this before…. my HP Omen 30L has been back and forth for Warranty work to fix this issue…. CPU is a Ryzen 7-5800x TJ-Max is 90° Celsius AMD warns me not to let it run that hot all the time. during gaming it’s hitting 85°+ and shutting down. HP swapped the factory air cooler for a factory AIO the factory cpu fan failed to ramp up to 80% and 100% speeds so HP swapped the motherboard and cpu cooler (twice) then they replaced the CPU it self and the fans work as they should now, but I’m still having high heat issues. HP tells me they’ve engineered the Omen 30L to run hot!!!!!??? Wtf??? Every enthusiast knows high cpu temps is bad. Now my warranty is long past over. This will be the last time I buy HP…. This whole experience has left me very unimpressed. I’ve been building pc’s for nearly 20 years I’ve never seen cpu temps like this before. I’ve ordered a Noctua U9S air cooler to swap out the AIO, I saw a user do this on YouTube. I guess I’ll see what happens. any HP Omen 30L users out there in Linus world with any other advice to give?
  14. Does not support usb c charging unfortunately
  15. Yes but gaming drains it super fast mind you it’s a few years old now…. Running a 9th gen core i5 it probably needs a battery toi
