  1. Before I start, I am already committed to taking the exams, I need them for a job. He just cant hire me without a cert, and told me this one is the one to get. After I start, I'm immediately starting on a network cert, (Cisco in all likelihood) I am Studying for the 901 - 902 exams (via the exam guide book), and I keep getting anxiety over the tests. Its all basic stuff, and when I sit and think about it, I should pass them no problem, but... I thought i would ask to see what anyone has to say about the exams, and if there is any region that stood out that I should spend some more time covering. Thanks for any replies.
  2. Had my k70 from the time i built my rig back in 2014. its pretty nice, sadly no one else in my house has anything close. They're rockin' a $4 rubber-dome from Microcenter, and a dell rubber dome form like 2002 I think. They would definitely appreciate the upgrade.
  3. Have you ruled out you current mouse / mouse driver? From what you said it was only while you where moving it. Other than that, the only thing I can think of would be to check Nvidia control panel, and see what refresh rate you have set. I once couldn't figure out my my games were running like shit, and found I had my panel set to 40hz (I use vsync). oh, I guess you could check if its a vsync issue too, but it sounds like you already did.
  4. lol I'm trying to see if i can use it to replace the Stock PSU in our family Dell Inspiron. Cant risk frying them, now or later. thanks for the response tho. I'll keep it in mind
  5. So, I have this corsair CX430m, that I thought was dead/dying, and I bought a new PSU. Turns out that it was the power strip I had the computer attached to, not the PSU (I think, and hope). I'd like to be sure of that of course, so how can I test the PSU? I did some searching online and got some conflicting results so I figured I'd ask here and see what people have to say, before really digging myself. Thanks in advance for any help.
  6. I have a g3258 (@4.2ghz) and a 750ti and I get 55 on SEUS ultra. a 950 should handle them no problem. 960 if you want to be extra safe. Edit: that's obviously with optifine, and the proper settings. Also on second thought, my render distance it at 8, so if you wanted higher draw distance, then you might want to go with the 960.
  7. It has to do with how each brand cools their cards. Asus does not always actively cool their VRM units, and that leads to poorer overclocking. I can only assume that gigabyte does something similar as the people before me compared the two brands. Sapphire and MSI both have a base-plate that cools the VRM. there really is no reason to not cool the VRM, I don't know why Asus doesn't. It might also have to do with the power delivery itself. both MSI and Sapphire have good power delivery systems.
  8. NOOOO. That sucks. It won't display anything? What do cables you have connected and where?
  9. hey, if you got the RAM you got the RAM, no point in not using it. What the others where thinking was that if you where buying that much, well, that money should go elsewhere. As it is though, you having all of these parts and all, it looks pretty good. If it where me, any money going into the project I would first allocate to the graphics card, then to an SSD, then to a better display. (obviously, use these recommendation as you want, its your stuff.) If you want to find inexpensive GPUs I would look on Craig's list, just if you can, get some sort of proof that it is working. If you can find a r9 280x for `$170 (USD) that'dbe pretty good @ 1080p. Or a gtx770 for just a bit more. If that's too much, you can always go lower in spec, to say a r9 280, or a gtx 760, (or even a r9 270 / gtx 750ti) but I think it would be worth it to wait at that point. You said you're starting this weekend, so you'll probably end up using your 745 at first, but you can always upgrade. Have fun with your build!
  10. maybe I'll paint mine, because yeah, the yellow.
  11. Its not that i dislike wireless, I just don't find dealing with charge and such worth it, just to get rid of the cable. The poll rate isn't that bad, its the same as the Final mouse right? Yeah, the more I look at the scimitar... it answers my request to a T. Again, how did I not know about it? lol.
  12. Has Acceleration. I should have put this in the OP, but I don't really want a wireless mouse. most of their stuff either has acceleration, or doesn't have the buttons I want. I will say they look unique.
  13. woah, how did I not know about the scimitar? That looks amazing! I have looked at the 502 before, and I think I would really need to try it out for at least a couple hours to see if I like the fit. It seems kind of narrow for me.
  14. So, I've been looking at mice. I want a new one as I have an m95, and while I love it, every once in awhile I'll notice the acceleration, or it will jitter. But the thing is, I love the buttons. I use them in every game I play, and if I can I use all of them. (For example, in an fps I map crouch, grenade and melee to the mouse, in League, I map some of the pings, shop, and level up to the mouse.) (note that's only for the thumb, I don't like to take my fingers off of M1 and M2) I Hybrid claw-palm the mouse, and I have pretty big hands. I use it at 3200dpi. Any recommendations for a mouse with an accurate and acceleration free sensor WITH thumb buttons? (probably at least 3, but preferably 5) if I cant find any I'll probably get a Mionix Naos 7000. Edit, not into wireless.
  15. I'd get a pair of Shure SE215-k for my dad. He likes his music alot, but... he is still using the headphones that came with his m8. http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE215-K-Isolating-Earphones-MicroDriver/dp/B004PNZFZ8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1449131310&sr=8-2&keywords=shure
