nox_ reacted to RollinLower in Does adding an HDD to your system slow down your computer?
yeah that's a myth. there is no reason a HDD will slow down your PC when you're booting from an SSD.

nox_ reacted to Haro in Wārudobītā: My first Build.
Wārudobītā:
CPU : Ryzen 3100
Motherboard : Asus b550m TUF plus
GPU : Gigabyte 1650 Super
RAM : 1x8GB Hyper X
SSD : Crucial MX500
PSU : Corsair CX450
Case : Antec NR500
Well it's finally here.
My first ever build... a project that has been delayed for over 4 months now, but it's finally done.
First I want to thank @Meganter, @Den-Fi, @Elisis, @GoldenLag, @Herman Mcpootis, @sub68 and @wkdpaul, for all the helps. Seriously guys... thank you .
Name chosen by: @Den-Fi. Okay, now the build log.
The build started kind of smoothly. I started with the motherboard, the CPU and the ram as usual. That was really easy for the most part. Then it went down hill sadly... the stock cooler was a pain in the behind and i wont lie... it took me 2 hours to seat the cooler. It was stressful and the cooler even fell on the board a couple of times. Which at that point I was really close to losing it thinking I lost the build and everything, but I continued...
Then came the case, standoffs were easy. I put the board in and everything went kind of smoothly. Then it was time for the PSU too. It was one of the easiest things really, plugged everything in and then came the GPU... oh the gpu! That was stressful not going to lie lol.
M case is quite normal nothing really special but getting rid of the expansion slots was a nightmare. At that point, I considered stopping because i thought the board was dead and there was no point.
I took a break and then i continued. Luckily the GPU went in easily. Then I checked if everything was properly connected, and it was time for the scariest thing. Does it work or not?
I was really stressed but my brother came, I relaxed and then he booted it up for me and... it didn't boot, but the board was not dead! VGA and boot LEDs were on, so I was still kind of stressed. @Meganter (the best cat around) told me to make a bootable flash drive and then try to boot. So i did, nothing happened sadly, then I tried switching the HDMI cable, I knew that it most likely was not the reason, but to my surprise : IT BOOTED!! somehow...
I went into the uefi, plugged the flash drive and..............the SSD was not dedicated. I tried a different SARTA power and SATA cable. It still did not work. So I thought it was dead... sat down for a bit to take a break then I tried booting it up again... it did not work.
Then i unplugged the PCIe cable from my GPU and it somehow booted IMMEDIATELY! I do not know how and I still do not know how but it did. At that point, I was just so happy that I did not care about how and why that fixed it. I installed Windows and now we are here. That's the most stressful thing I went through but at the end of the day... looking back at it, it was one hell of an experience...

nox_ reacted to Spotty in [SPECULATION] LTT may have insider info on the 3060ti
Interesting. @HelpfulTechWizard has never said that in his posts before. There's been no other posts on the forum discussing whether or not LTT has information on a 3060ti. Does he maybe work for LTT and know something we don't???

Well... here is another addition to my 2020 custom mech keeb saga, and of all my builds and purchases, the most anticipated. This is my new everyday keyboard, sitting front and center on my desk. This is a huge improvement and suitable replacement over my Corsair K70 LUX.
I present to you ‘Jaster’, a 90% Tofu96 build, with the DZ96 PCB (solder), brass backplate, Zealios v2 65g switches lubed with TriboSys 3204, GMK screw-in stabs also lubed with 3204, 2x3x4mm White Diode LED’s, and to CAP it all off (pun very much intended), the GMK Boba Fett keycaps.
This is the way.

Open GPU-Z and check what it says under the "Name" in the "Graphics card" tab (and post a screenshot of it here, if anything is unclear).

nox_ got a reaction from Eschew in I cant decide between two keyboards Redragon Kala k557 / Gamdias Hermes P2A
Herpes paradoxically looks cleaner, so would buy that myself. Never tried this particular model but I like optical switches. Gamdias quality is pretty decent, so you should be okay. Kumara I had, and my friends too, it's a budget option but never my friends or me had issues with it.

If you are talented enough, then yes.
Personally, I'd use an external DVD drive.

nox_ reacted to mariushm in What should be the idle temp of a ryzen 3 3200g with stock cooler?
The processor will not care, as long as it's below around 80c
Most A lot of modern motherboards will automatically lower the fan speeds to make your computer more silent, while keeping the cpu temperature around 55-60c or lower.
Basically, if the cpu temperature is in that range (50-60c) they won't spin the fan faster to speed up cooling and keep the cpu even cooler.
So there's nothing to worry about.
