  1. This tier could use an update. The Crucial MX500 rocks and is dirt cheap. Also new stuff came out, some rgb goodies and would be good to know how they perform against the classics. Good list though, will help more than one poor confused soul
  2. Yeah, not the problem. Actually i changed it. It did it with a corsair vengeange lpx 8gb 2900 mhz and it still does it now with two Corsair vengeange pro rgb 8gb 3200 mhz in dual channel
  3. Oh that's awesome!!! Thanks for the info!!!
  4. So, it's been a while since this started. The issue is this. Randomly, my pc either crashes and my LL120s go to rainbow mode and my 1080 shows a white led while the monitor is off or it resets and restarts altogheter. At first i thought it was the PSU, so i changed for a Corsair CX650M. (soon to be replaced for a EVGA Supernova G2 750w). The issue presisted. So i thought it was a thermal issue, since the paste is probably dry and the cpu on idle is arround 50° (Ryzen 5 1600, stock ghz, wraith spire cooler) and the troubles started when i was gaming or using the pc. But i found it on "dead mode" twice when i came back home from work and OBVIOUSLY nobody was using it, so it also crashes on idle... I'm using a relatively new W10 pro instalation (2 months give or take) since i changed from an hdd to an ssd. So... i'm running out of ideas here... WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!?!!?
  5. Thanks man! i'm going to check 'em out now. I'm not familiar with the brand. Are they good? Should i compare them with EKWB or with AIO brands like Corsair or NZXT?
  6. you know, my dad's car had an issue quite like this, you had to put it in "contact" and wait for EXACTLY one minute before you could start the engine. It turned out to be an electrical problem. So, while i'm not saying it is THE SAME since we're talking pcs and not cars, it does sound oddly similar. My money is on faulty PSU, not thermals but circuit wise. Do you have a spare PSU to check this?
  7. wait... so, no matter the time or if you used or not the pc before the same day, BEFORE being able to turn the pc on you need to UNPLUG the PSU from the wall for at least 10 min (give or take) am i correct?
  8. i don't want to be dense about this, but are you SURE it's not a thermal issue? I ask because the 10 min. downtime is weird and sounds a lot like a cool-down time... How about the cpu cooler? is it working OK? Did you replace the thermal paste when you switched MoBos?
  9. i hear you. Like, say, an EVGA AIO, which is designed for fluid replacement would be a good candidate? This is still hypothetical since i have to FIRST acquire an AIO worth potentially destroying before doing this. But i really wanted a custom loop design and where i'm from it's nearly impossible to get or import (importing is possible, but not affordable at all)
  10. Hi guys, quick hypothetical question here. Say i have an AIO brand "X" which allows to drain and refill the fluid, warranty expired and all. This AIO is a bit old, so it wouldn't be a huge loss for humanity if it died. Assuming the pump is all good and dandy, would it be possible to take the tubing out and replacing it with some hard line or transparent soft tubing?
  11. Would it be worth it at u$77? Whatever i get would be temporary until i can get enough saved up for a H100i Pro or Platinum (or if i have some friend/familiar traveling to the US i'll ask them to get it for me)
  12. it would be our version of Amazon. www.mercadolibre.com.ar this is AS CLOSE as we get to something that remotely resembles Amazon. And, like i said, the prices are riddiculous down here. for the conversion rates take u$s1 = AR$ 40 (the exact rate would be something like 38.7 give or take) ALSO, keep in mind that buying used stuff in Argentina is as dangerous as russian roulette. Most people here will try to rip you off any time they can one way or another. (not all, of course. But it's better to be safe than sorry)
  13. yep, sucks to be a tech lover down here. For a simple example. The EVGA g2 Supernova 750 80+ gold PSU costs arround $10000 give or take. which is like u$250
  14. I stand corrected, The Gammaxx 400 is the only Deepcool you can get here. But it costs the same as the Hyper 212
  15. gammaxx is not available in Argentina... like i said, we are pretty screwed tech-wise In general, no. Looks are not more important than performance. But in THIS particular build, the looks of it is an important part of it. Taking in account that the LL120 alone cost over 240 u$s the pack of three (Argetina prices) and the Vengeance Pro rgb cost another 325 u$s cover them up with a cooler wouldn't be logical. Again, i understand where you're coming from and in ANY other build i would get a noctua over anything
