  1. Hmm okay, So in my first place, we had 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support. I worked in 1st, which was taking calls from customers and working with a helpdesk system etc. I guess the admins there would have been the 3rd line guys. My current company is a lot smaller and I am the only support guy, but I do all of that stuff already. It's just not on a massive scale. Roughly 200 staff, 7 servers.
  2. When you say administrator, what exactly do you mean?
  3. In England, in Wolverhampton.
  4. ***Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so let me know if not!*** Last month I turned 22 years old. On my 16th birthday, I started work in a large manufacturing company as an IT Helpdesk Technician Apprentice. After moving through the apprenticeship and eventually completing, they hired me permanently. Eventually though, I felt that I had learned everything I could from the place, so I left. In June last year, I moved to another manufacturing company ( a lot smaller ) and started work as the IT Support Technician. This is a lot more hands on. But now I am considering moving on again. Things are changing in my business, and I just want to know what my best option/path would be if I do decide to leave. I don't want another 'support' job to be honest. But at the same time, I'm not completely sure what I actually want. That's why I'm asking you guys today. With 6 years support experience, where could I potentially go in my career next? What doors might be open to me? If you need to know more about my experience or qualifications then I will be happy to share. Thanks!
  5. @LukeSavenije What are the main differences? Reason I'm asking is because price is a massive factor to us here. The X370 is over £30 more expensive. The Pro4 is £20 more too. Should just make clear also that once this is built, it's built. I don't see any upgrades or mods being made to this at all tbh.
  6. no, this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FVKWLQK/ref=crt_ewc_title_srh_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
  7. You guys are the best, thank you.@LukeSavenije @Jurrunio @Crunchy Dragon In that case then, I am thinking of the 2200G, ASRock B450M, and 8gb RAM. The games that she wants to play are CS:GO and the SIMS. She is already able to play both of thise from a crappy old i5 laptop, the loading times are just catastrophic. I think I might not bother with a GPU tbh, if a laptop i5 can run the games okay then I'm sure the 2200G can too. What do you think?
  8. Reason I ask is that my wife would like a PC to play games that are really low intensity and don't need anything fancy at all. I was thinking to just buy cheaper parts; if she ever wants to play a more demanding game, she can use my PC. Are DDR3 motherboards still in production? If not, what the best value DDR4 board? Thanks Ethan
  9. How do you do that? The thing is that now the PC just crashes with the card just in it! Even if I have my display running through the integrated graphics, and the card just there redundant, the PC still crashes after logon. Of course! Here you go: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/home4living?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 It has taken him a few days but he has finally come back to me just telling me to send it back. In my message to him I asked him to send me a new card or a free postage label so I guess he has done what I have asked. I still want to try and get this fixed though just so I have the experience for if it ever happens again. And yes, I have the latest BIOS. I have an ASUS H81M-C so it hasn't actually had an update for a couple years now. Not sure that has anything to do with it though as like I said above, my friends card (a newer card) worked fine the other day. I did already try that, but thank you for your help anyway!
  10. Thanks a lot. I have tried that but unfortunately didnt work. I have a colleague who runs an rx580 in his system so we swapped cards. Guess what.... my system then worked perfectly and his had all the same problems. I have contacted the seller on eBay. Thanks so much for helping me diagnose the actual problem, I will keep you posted as to how the seller responds. Cheers
  11. Hi again, unfortunately the file that I download from that link doesn't seem to run, do you know if there is anywhere else I could get it from please?
  12. Would make sense I guess... I got it from eBay and the seller had 4 'in stock'. Well I have found a spare SSD so I'm putting windows on that to see if it works on there, if it does, I will wipe my SSD and do it on there. Will let you know how I get on!
  13. I think it was 2nd hand. But it seems to work okay... until I install any sort of driver
  14. I have treid so many different versions of the driver now haha. Let me try formatting C and reinstalling
  15. Unfortunately @XR6, neither set of drivers have worked. The PC just continues to Blue Screen
