  1. Custom Built, mainly for gaming, in the future I'd like to do streaming on Twitch & Youtube, perhaps make/edit videos for Youtube also. Current System: CPU: Ryzen 3 1200 OCed to 3.9GHz CPU Cooler: Wraith Spire LED/RGB (from Ryzen 7 2700) Motherboard: ASRock AB350 Pro4 (BIOS P3.20) Memory: 16GB (2x8GB) ADATA XPG Z1 3000MHz (running at auto 2666MHz due to unstable with XMP on, either CPU IMC or Motherboard BIOS causing Memory Stability Issues with XMP on) Storage: 2TB Seagate 7200RPM 3.5" HDD, 256GB WD Blue 2.5" SSD Video Card: ASUS Strix OC GTX 1070 Case: Bitfenix Outlaw (Budget case from like 2011, Bought on Clearance Summer 2013) Power Supply: EVGA Supernova G2 550W Optical Drive: 5.25" DVD Burner Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit (v. 2004) Mainly looking for CPU & Case upgrade, figured I'd include Motherboard so it'd be 1 fewer thing to transplant from 1 case into another. I Have PC Building Simulator, so would prefer a Case that's in the game so if in the future I decide to do Watercooling with a custom loop, I could use the game to plan out the loop, here's a Onedrive Excel Spreadsheet I found of parts that's in it, including Cases: https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=11F4002E1134F403!656952&ithint=file%2cxlsx&authkey=!AFkjSXnXIbRL2e0 Leaning towards either the Fractal Design Focus G or Meshify C, Perhaps Define R5 or R6, Maybe Corsair 175R RGB, 275R, Spec-Delta RGB or perhaps a 750D, depends on used price, condition & availability, or sales/deals on like Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I'm in Ontario, Canada, Budget would be $150+100 or $150 so $250-$300CAD total, $150 would be from a Amazon.ca gift card I should receive a week after Prime Day, the other $100-150 would likely be from a loan I'd have to get from someone unless I can sell some extra stuff I have & save some money by then.
  2. I currently have a Ryzen 3 1200 & ASRock AB350 Pro4 in a Bitfenix Outlaw, Looking at possibly getting a CPU, Motherboard & Case upgrade, either new off Amazon or used off Kijiji, eBay or r/CanadianHardwareSwap, perhaps Amazon Warehouse Deals if they have anything. I'm thinking around Black Friday/Cyber Monday at the earliest depending on deals/availability & how Zen 3/Ryzen 5000 release on November 5th will effect prices & supply. When it come to what to get, I'm thinking Ryzen 5 2600 with a B450 Revision such as the MSI MAX or upcoming ASUS II or just getting a X570 (considering X570 supports 2nd Gen Ryzen apparently while B550 don't, & apparently B550 isn't worth it anyway over the X570), Preference would be to ASUS as I just obtained a ASUS Strix OC GTX 1070 & would be nice to pair it with a ASUS board I think for Aura Sync, so depending on prices & availability of ATX (instead of mATX) models I'm thinking ROG Strix B450-F II if I go with the ASUS Preference or maybe the MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX for B450, if I go X570, perhaps the Asus Prime X570-P? Would be used with a Ryzen 5 2600 for 2+ Years, then would likely upgrade at that point to at least a Ryzen 5 5600X, though a 3800X or equivalent would be more likely. TL;DR B450 Revision or X570 for Zen+ Ryzen 5 for 2+ Years until upgrade to Zen 3 Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7?
  3. It's been 1 year since the "cheapest 144hz monitor on amazon" video, I was wondering if it would be possible to get a revisit a year later? I was checking amazon.ca & came across the HKG GF40: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B07DJ4DS6B/ It's $240 CAD, but there's a $15 coupon that brings it down to $225, also no tax, because of no tax it would be cheaper then the Sceptre C248B-144RN (Possibly the same C24 that was reviewed a year ago?) that would be like $5 less before tax.
  4. Forgot to mention as it never showed up in my search though I have it in my watch list (likely never showed up due to being out of stock currently), but Newegg Canada got/had a Refurbished Gigabyte GTX 1660 OC for $252+$10 shipping for standard Shipping from Outside Canada, item location is from the USA: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/GIGABYTE-GeForce-GTX-1660-DirectX-12-GV-N1660OC-6GD-6GB-192-Bit-GDDR5-PCI-Expres/173990315952 Checking the newegg.ca site, for that price (before tax & shipping) I could get a New GTX 1060 3GB, GTX 1650 Super or RX 580 8GB, a few dollars extra would be a RX 5500 XT 4GB, checking for Open Box & Refurb options, a extra $55 from the RX 5500 XT 4GB price ($255+tax & shipping) would get a Open Box 5500 XT 8GB though there are some New options for a little less than the Open Box, the Open Box would be $310 while cheapest New would be $290, New GTX 1660 starts at $300, a Used GTX 1070 off eBay could likely be had about that price (Looking at my Watch list for some GTX 1070 I had added to it, there's 1 in stock still here in Canada, the Gigabyte Mini ITX OC for $330 or Make Offer+$25.90 for Expedited Shipping, listed as Manufacturer refurbished with 9 month Manufacturer Warranty remaining).
  5. I don't have a licence/vehicle so I don't have to worry about that, I normally take public transit, fare would be $3.25 & get a transfer that lasts 90 minutes that depending on how far I go would only be enough for 1 way so $6.50 max to take a trip to get something locally unless they are willing to meet somewhere closer to me. My current RX 470 is 1 of 2 I got for $114 total in December 2018/January 2019, Bought 1 off eBay but when it arrived it was not as described as it had a mining BIOS that seller had made no mention of, filed a INAD case, seller responded & apologized saying he had lots of cards to sell & only 2-3 had modded BIOS & he didn't remember what ones they were, he had 1 left that he checked & didn't have a modded BIOS, he could either send the one he had left & if it works I could keep both or I could return the card I received for a full refund, I accepted the 2nd card & it works (the one I currently have in my computer), only issue is temps hit 90-91*C under load while gaming but still works, so I got 2x MSI Armor OC RX470 4GB cards for $114 CAD total, that would be like $57 CAD each, if I were to do the TLC to flash a BIOS on the 1 card & do fresh thermal paste on both, I'm sure I could perhaps sell them for $80 each for $160 total for like $46 profit, or if a EVGA Supernova G2 550W is enough, I could possibly do Crossfire.
  6. Mainly gaming, though would like to do streams on twitch/youtube & record videos & edit using windows movie maker or similar free video editing software for youtube at some point. Just thought to check eBay, for what I could possibly get for my $150 CAD+shipping, budget: there's a plethora of RX 480/580 4GB cards worldwide, the 8GB cards would be out of budget unless I stick with 2x4GB 2400MHZ RAM that would increase budget to $200-250 CAD+shipping. cheapest that's not a RX 480/580 or GTX970/1060 would be a GTX 980/1070/1660 for $189 USD ($266.05 CAD) and up+shipping Cheapest GTX 980 is a Zotac Omega in Lithuania for $189 USD ($266.05 CAD) or Make Offer+$15 USD ($21.11) Standard International Shipping Cheapest GTX 1070 is a EVGA Gaming ACX 3.0 Black Edition (08G-P4-5171-KR) here in Canada for $300 CAD or Make Offer+$20.27 for Standard Shipping Cheapest GTX 1660 is a Gigabyte OC from the USA for $219.99 USD ($309.67 CAD) or Make Offer+$15.01 USD ($21.13 CAD) for International Priority Shipping to Canada+$34.51USD (don't say CAD, but google says $34.51 USD=$48.69 CAD) for import Charge for Comparable price from AMD, cheapest Vega 56 is a Gigabyte Gaming OC from the USA for $210 USD ($295.61 CAD)+$36.08 USD ($50.79 CAD) for International Priority Shipping to Canada If I include the GTX 1060: The P106 mining card with no video out would be in budget, but not a option due to the hassle that would be needed for video out & regular/gaming BIOS For a actual GTX 1060, I was offered a Zotac 3GB for $150+shipping on r/CanadianHardwareSwap, Checking eBay cheapest 1060 3GB is a ASUS Phoenix Fan Edition (PH-GTX1060-3G) here in Canada for $168 CAD+$18.50 for Standard Shipping Cheapest 1060 6GB is also here in Canada, a Gigabyte ITX OC for $225 CAD+$15 for Standard Shipping
  7. Ryzen 3 1200 OCed to 3.9GHz, planning on upgrading, maybe to a Ryzen 7 1700 unless I can find a Ryzen 5 2600(X or non-X). 2x4GB 2400MHz RAM, plan on upgrading to 2x8GB or 4x4GB 2400MHz+
  8. Looking to upgrade my MSI Armor OC RX 470 4GB & looking for opinions on price/value for my budget of $150 CAD+ shipping max So far I've been offered some GTX 970s, haven't been given a price or variant for 1, but 3 with prices, a ASUS Strix for $150 (+shipping, unless he makes a trip to my area), Gigabyte G1 for $120+shipping & a EVGA ACX 2.0 for $100+shipping Was offered a ASUS Strix RX 580 for $180 firm +shipping but ended up selling to someone else, the other offer so far was a Zotac GTX 1060 3GB for $150 (+shipping?) There was also a combo of a Ryzen 5 2600X for $150, 2x8GB Ballistix 2666MHz RAM for $80 & ASUS Strix RX 580 that was mined on, mining BIOS & missing a fan blade, I offered $280 either shipped or + shipping with the stock BIOS put back on the card, they said they'd consider it as they wanted to sell it all together, ended up selling to someone else. Locally on Kijiji there's a MSI Gaming X RX 480 4GB listed for $120, though listing is over a month old so not sure if still available.
  9. Just came across this video of the 2600X vs 1700: Showed the 2600X was better by a slight-small margin at 1080p, less so at 1440p & par or negligible difference at 4K when paired with a 2080Ti to get the most out of the CPU so what I'm wondering is if I can get the 1700 for $140 shipped while the 2600X would be $10(maybe + shipping) extra, would it be worth holding on for the 2600X or just grab the 1700, more so considering the 1700 got a RGB cooler (Wraith Spire LED) while the 2600X don't & with me wanting a RGB cooler, would need to buy a Wraith Spire LED, Prism or Max to go with it. I'm thinking the 1700 would be better value
  10. How do they compare to the 3100? With the 1400/1500X at $130-134 the 3100 after tax would only be $36-40 more? Edit: on r/CanadianHardwareSwap, keep in mind I was offered a 1700 for $140 shipped, so $6-10 more than the 1400/1500X & $30 less than the 3100
  11. Checking ebay.ca for Buy it Now, cheapest (Desktop, not mobile) Ryzen 5/7 CPU (not box or cooler only) is the 1400 used from China for $95 USD/$134 CAD: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/AMD-Ryzen-5-R5-1400-R5-1500X-R5-1600-R5-1600X-Socket-AM4-CPU-Processor/233361700310?hash=item365570f5d6:m:m7X6VYuDrNGLvPh2q20YLrw&var=532915948556 https://www.ebay.ca/itm/AMD-Ryzen-5-R5-1400-R5-1500X-R5-1600-R5-1600X-Socket-AM4-CPU-Processor/233361700310?hash=item365570f5d6:m:m7X6VYuDrNGLvPh2q20YLrw&var=532915948556 Checking Kijiji (Canadian eBay Classifieds/Gumtree) across Canada, cheapest Ryzen overall is the 1200 listed for $70 ($10 less than I paid for my current 1200 October 2018), for $70 there's the 1200 option & a 1400 though the 1400 lists that must be picked up in Saskatchewan, looking through the next cheapest Ryzen 5 listing is 2 options for a 1500X for $130 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-computer-components/calgary/amd-ryzen-3-1200/1498684706 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-computer-components/saskatoon/ryzen-5-1400-must-pickup/1500307282 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-computer-components/oakville-halton-region/amd-ryzen-5-1500x/1499859036 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-desktop-computers/ottawa/ryzen-1500x-cpu/1499446628
  12. Gaming mainly, may end up doing some streaming on twitch/youtube & may record & edit a few videos for youtube using windows movie maker or similar free video editor Of the new CPUs for better single performance for sims that need it (Such as iRacing & FSX), it's the cheapest & therefore closest to my budget. I have a post in the classifieds section here of what i'm looking for:
  13. That's not a bad price, $165 USD=$232ish CAD, checking ca.pcpartpicker.com, vuugo & shoprbc got it for $256.25, Memory Express is out of stock for online for $260, same price as Canada Computers, newegg.ca got it listed for $280 & amazon.ca got it back ordered, due in stock May 29th for $280
  14. CPU is just 1 thing, I also plan on a RAM upgrade as I'm currently using 2x4GB of 2400MHz and a GPU upgrade to replace my RX 470 4GB that runs at 90ish*C under load, thinking/hoping $350-400 Canadian for CPU+RAM+GPU $85 USD=about $120 CAD currently, checking amazon currently, on amazon.com (US) cheapest is $152.50 USD=about $214ish CAD from 2 3rd party sellers both fufilled by amazon, both back ordered, 1 due in stock May 15th, the other is June 15th, on .ca (Canada) Cheapest is $241.41 from a 3rd party seller not fufilled by amazon, and then amazon warehouse deals got one listed for $247.66 in very good condition "Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged. Minor cosmetic imperfection on top, front or sides of item. Minor cosmetic imperfection on bottom or back of item. Minor cosmetic imperfections on the corner of the item. Accessories may have cosmetic damage.", those prices would be more than the Ryzen 3 3300X
  15. Looking for a Used CPU to upgrade from my Ryzen 3 1200 OCed to 3.9GHz on a ASRock AB350Pro4 with Wraith Stealth Cooler, Just wondering what the value would be like of some options I've seen compared to the upcoming Ryzen 3 3100@$150+HS=$170 Ryzen 5 2600, was offered for $110+shipping but was sold before I could pull the trigger Ryzen 5 2600X, Saw some listed for $150-180, thinking maybe $140+shipping max would be a good price unless I can get it for the same price as the non X I was offered? Ryzen 7 1700, Currently got a offer of one for $140 shipped Ryzen 7 2700X, Offered one for $280 shipped, but that's out of budget, thinking price of the New Ryzen 3 3100, so $170 would be my absolute max budget In Canada so Prices are in CAD, just wondering what the best value would be of those?
