I'm going to get some extra thermal pads just in case. What thickness should they be? 1mm? I saw a video of a guy taking the card apart, doesn't seem too difficult, I'll just proceed slowly and I'll probably just have to remove the back plate. (edit: I think it's .5mm VRAM, 1mm VRM, and 2mm for the back plate, where can I find our for sure if you happen to know.)

I have had a Gigabyte 2070 Super OC 3X version, and I was wondering if I have to look out for anything while reapplying thermal paste. It seems straight forward, but I don't want to make any mistake. I'm familiar with doing this with cpus but haven't done the gpu yet. TLDR: Is it really just as simple as unscrewing the screws on the back?

I'm gonna get some acoustic foam, put the ps4 in a box, then do the same to that box, then I'll have vents going in and out. Maybe that will fix my issue. Oh and then put it in my closet.

Actually, if you were to hear mine, you would think it would be twice the decibels. I could have this things in another room and it would still overtake noise cancelling headphones. So do you think I can sue for my eardrum being ruptured?

My console is so loud (even at the home screen). Yes, I cleaned it and changed thermal paste and I'm 99% certain I did an adequate job. Does anyone know what is causing this? I don't need a Concorde in my room with afterburner active. (I'm probably going back to the ps3 for now.) This is super frustrating.

Ok so after 5 or more times of installing the files to the installation drive, we finally got it to work??? My guess is unreliable installation media??? Anyway. All help has been greatly appreciated. This is after installing another new drive 250gb hdd. So idk what it is. Just glad it works now. How anticlimactic is that.

The options were ahci and raid. I didn't see ide or anything.

This is very odd. I feel like I must be doing something wrong becaue the drive allows partitions to be made and it just doesn't appear on the list.

It wasn't there after disabling raid, in the list of drives to install windows on. So I cleaned the drive again and still nothing. I think I'll try to install linux. I saw some videos on youtube of trying to manually install the drivers it said were missing but none of that was working either. Gone off to work. Do you think another hard drive would work?

Yes... It's there and in diskpart again accidentally switched on raid but it's back to normal now. awaiting advice

AHCI and motherboard is B450 AORUS M CPU is ryzen 2600

I'm trying to install windows. I'm getting "A media driver your computer needs is missing" The hard drive is detected in the bios. I've also tried other usb ports, cleaning the drive, reinitializing the drive but it seems windows really wants the drivers. The hard drive seems to be responsive and works, but I can't find the drivers online. That I have to select from in the menu. I've tried some things in the bios but that didn't seem to work. I've looked through other forum posts as well but can't seem to figure it out. Help. Please. SSD: WD Blue 3D NAND 500GB Internal PC SSD

Does it happen when you are home alone? Also full system specs?
