  1. I had a previously helped user on Discord message me again with a similar issue... I have stated that the 4k series cards are known to have issues. I know this as a gamer friend has had a 4k series card with a similar issue, and it turns out that the card was defective. I suggested that he returns it and gets a 3k or 2k series card, and that is because I have heard that the 4k series cards (and has been proven) literally melt the power connectors and on a few occasions cause fires? I am running a 2060 Super on my new build, and I have had no issues so far. I wanted to get a 4k series card, but after hearing the above, I was like, "nope, not worth the risk". AMD R9 3950X (16c/32t) 64GB DDR4 Corsair Vengence RGB @ 3200MHz (4x 16GB) NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super (8GB) (Gigabyte) (edited) ASUS ROG STRIX X-570-F 256GB, 2TB (games) and 1TB m.2 NVMe SSD's (will be adding hard drives (8TB (games), 12TB and 14TB) soon, got them, just not connected atm)
  2. No, I tend to use the Device Managers uninstaller and I also check the "Delete device Software" at the same time.
  3. Hello folks! I am posting here because I have a strange graphics card issue. I currently have an ATi Radeon HD7750 graphics card. It has the latest drivers from AMD's site installed. My issue is complicated, so let me try to explain it... When I play games, I get some tearing, on distant area's, especially in Halo PC and CE. (old game I know, but I am expanding to Counter Strike, and more similar games that are similarly graphics demanding). This issue also happens (but on a more extreme level) when I stream video from one of my servers, of gameplay for example, it acts as though it is laggy, like a slow internet connection, but my link speed between my PC and server is 1Gbps. Now here is the kicker: I have put a smaller graphics card, namely an NVIDIA 7300LE (128MB) as a test and it seems just fine, no lag or screen tearing to be seen. I do know that the latest drivers for WIndows 7 appear to be causing similar issues with other PC's, but this is on an extreme level, and I am not sure what is causing it. I have friends on Discord, who suggested using the graphics card power input (located on the board for AMD crossfire) as the card may be undervolted. It is not, it draws 0.825v both with and without the extra power connected. This issue is puzzling, is there anyone out there that might have an idea of what is going on? Thanks in advance. **UPDATE** I have rolled back to earlier drivers, and I get the same issue that I cannot resolve. Here is a video that should be helpful in explaining my issue.
  4. My current board does not officially support Windows 10, which I want for a reason, that is, because Windows 7 support ends on 14/1/20. I want to get it going properly now so I dont have to do it all later.
  5. Hello again... I have started this thread to see if anyone has any recommendations for a motherboard that is similar to the one I already have... Here goes... Currently I have an MSI 890FXA-DG65 board... It has on it: Four PCI-E slots One PCI slot Two Graphics card slots Six 90° angled SATA III connectors I have all 4 PCI-E slots filled, and an AMD FX-8350 CPU installed with 16GB of RAM (4 x 4GB modules). I also have an ATi Radeon HD7750 with 2GB GDDR5 memory. I am asking if anyone here knows of a similar motherboard with similar or preferably the same number of add-in card slots as above that support my FX-8350 and naturally DDR3 RAM, it must also have native support for Windows 10 as well. My budget is £50 to £100. No more. Thanks.
  6. I have now reinstalled Windows 10 Pro (64bit) so I can try and troubleshoot my issues. I have been in contact with MSI, and they are saying that there are no drivers for my board for Windows 10 because it is "to old". Yeah, right.
  7. I have tried Windows 10. Multiple times. While most devices do work, I have a "Marvell 91xx Config Device" which I think is linked to my boards SATA connectors, I am not sure. The driver on the original DVD appears to work, but it should not be "ejectable" like a USB flash drive is. Also, this happens whenever I have Windows 10... I am not trying to be fussy or picky, but that just does not look normal, and should not be happening. I have no idea what is causing it... This is just one of many issues I am facing.
  8. Hello all again... I have some questions that users on here might be able to answer... I have been trying to build a new PC, currently I am using the MSI 890FXA-DG65 motherboard. Currently with an AMD FX-8350 CPU and 16GB of RAM. I also have an ATi Radeon HD7750 (until I can get a better graphics card). I have built this PC for gaming. I am having some issues though at this stage... I have been unable to locate any drivers for my board for Windows 10 Pro (x64), and while there are no drivers on MSI's website, I am wondering if there are drivers elsewhere for it that I have maybe missed or not been able to locate? I have tried Windows update wwith no results and I currently have Windows 7 installed and what concerns me is that support for Windows 7 runs out in around 11 months time on January 14th 2020. I dont want toi have to pay out for a complete new PC when I have spent a lot on this one already, to hit a brick wall because of system drivers. Can anyone help?
  9. Windows is "dumb" indeed. I won't argue with that because I agree. I did switch the view in Task Manager to "Logical Processors" and it showed 8 with activity appearing on all 8. The strange thing is that when I had a GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 board installed, it was actually showing all 8 cores as cores rather than threads. I have changed my board as the stated board only has SATA II connectors which is a limiting factor on my SATA III drives, and actually slows my system down and while it may not seem like it, I notice the difference. I can now boot and start games and whatnot at double the speed of the previous board I had because the new board is SATA III 6Gbps.
  10. All I am saying is that it does not seem right, know what I mean? Looks like I may have to get a newer motherboard... On the flip side, the motherboard actually has options for cores 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8. So the board appears to be detecting all 8 cores. Why isn't Windows? Can anyone reccomend a good similar board that I could use that supports my CPU, one that does not cost a small fortune?
  11. I updated my post above. Not on this board, there is no "gaming mode" enabled. I did notice that there are no motherboard drivers specifically for the motherboard running on Windows 10 though. CPU-Z shows it is an 8 core 8 thread CPU on the other hand.
  12. Hello LTT users! I have a question about the fact that my new Windows 10 Pro (x64) install is not detecting all 8 cores on my AMD FX-8350. At the moment, it is only showing it as a quad core 8 thread CPU. I have the following specs: AMD FX-8350 x8 @4GHz MSI 890FXA-GD65 motherboard 16GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM 250GB Samsung 840 Series SSD In Task Manager, my CPU shows as a 4 core 8 thread chip, when it is an 8 core 8 thread chip. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I have reset the bios to default settings, and unchecked the CPU option in MSConfig. I have also tried enabling manual CPU control and selected all 8 cores as enabled.
  13. a "2GB Firecuda"? Do you mean "2TB Firecuda"?
  14. So I have tried this problematic SSD on a THIRD system, and it does the EXACT same thing. The HDD LED goes static for a few seconds, then goes off, then the taskbar disappears and that the Blue Screen of Death appears! This is with installing Windows 7 Professional on it for the laptop I have a licence for it on. I can upload a video I took on my phone if that helps? Also, when it is on a BSoD, it says "initialising disk for data dump" but it can't finish because the SSD has "dropped" off the system! This is incredibly frustrating! Nobody believes me even though I have shown clear undeniable proof! Perhaps this video will help LTT members diagnose my problem...
