Xcoool got a reaction from Exaco in Why i can overclock so high?
@exaco Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 C16 are rated to run @3000mhz with DOCP (intel xmp) so 3200 mhz is ok. Calculators are used to improve memory timings as ryzen processors benefit from tighter timings.I can pretty much guarantee 3800mhz would never be stable with ryzen 5 2600 .No matter what memory you would use, even sticks rated to run @4000mhz wouldn't do it as second gen ryzen memory controller just cant handle it. Your memory is capable of 3200mhz but without manual tuning you have 50/50 chance it is going to be stable.

Xcoool got a reaction from Sorenson in 8700K- temps constantly over 90C at idle
With stock setting without any kind of serious load it i can probably cool it.I have corsair 360mm rad with 6 fans and it had hard time cooling 2700x running avx workloads. However it can cool 3700x quite nicely :D.For h60 anything over 65w is too much especially in a case of intel shady TPD ratings.

Xcoool got a reaction from SenKa in Monitor flashes black screen while gaming
It is a common issue,if you want use freesync you can try to use fps limiter.Set limit to 138fps.In some case it does help.

Xcoool got a reaction from Mister Woof in 8700K- temps constantly over 90C at idle
@Rx_Seraph Pump is dead,so call lagging was thermal throttling as CPU was overheating.Your AIO is still in warranty so RMA,just have a lots patience with corsair support, they are in process of migrating their system and responding to tickets slowly.I have requested RMA on Sunday and still have no answer.BTW All AIOs from corsair in last couple of years have usb connection in order to monitor and control pump, fans and water temperature.
EDIT: h60 is also a bit small for 8700k.If you can get 240mm AIO.

Xcoool got a reaction from LienusLateTips in X570 VS B450/X470
MB chipset has nothing to with PBO or XFR,nor memory controller everything is embedded to processor. There is no reason why should be overcloking any lower on x470/b450 than on x570.This doesnt apply to most b350/x370 boards as those use t-topology memory layout which does limit ram speeds.

Xcoool got a reaction from TechyBen in Newly Built Computer Seems To Be Underperforming In All Aspects
@Coldhandss Ssd is performing as expected it is sata drive after all, user benchmark is extremely moody. You will get different result every time you run it.
CPU is fine as well, you just didnt overclocked and majority of users did as it is unlocked K version after all.GPU is under-performing a bit,but as mentioned before user benchmark test aren't very reliable. Try this (click this) benchmark and post your results.

Xcoool got a reaction from LukeSavenije in Motherboard Tier List (EOL)
@LukeSavenije mate one more thing gibabite gaming 5 and Aorus Ultra gaming are the same boards with fake 8 phase (doubled 4 phase) they are the same level sa msi gaming plus.So certainly no tier A.Just jump in the buldzoid's video to 39 min.
-
Xcoool got a reaction from LukeSavenije in Motherboard Tier List (EOL)
Well there are same boards, except strix has better mosfets and capacitors...therefore slightly better VRM (more power stages as well according to buldzoid) i cant confirm that part.
But i am pretty sure with better VRM higher power consumption can be attributed to more aggressive PBO. Strix is crazy pushing x2700 over 180w with my 360mm AIO.
Prime pro pretty much never went over 140w with xfr2 and PBO running prime95. And you are welcome.

Xcoool got a reaction from LukeSavenije in Motherboard Tier List (EOL)
Yeah
Not no mention i have both. That is how i know BPO is much more aggressive on strix board.
-
Xcoool got a reaction from LukeSavenije in Motherboard Tier List (EOL)
They have same vrm,but strix has actual coolers on vrm when prime has light covers.
Strix pulls more power because because PBO is much more agressive by default pretty much because of real coolers on vrm.
Strix comes with better capacitors.
Yeah it does have plastic shroud covering part of vrm cooler, but even crosshair has it...

Xcoool got a reaction from LukeSavenije in Motherboard Tier List (EOL)
@LukeSavenije there seems to be a mistake... AMD tier A contains Asus x470-Prime Pro. And tier B Asus x470 strix . When strix is higher model with actual cooling on VRM and just better equipped mobo overall.

Xcoool got a reaction from Stevers108 in Upgrading to a 9900K?
Well it is overkill, but it would certainly do the job...pretty much keeping your cpu under 60c.

Xcoool got a reaction from Dedayog in Buying used PC
In short no.You can build better pc for 600$ new.Fx processors were never good, high power consumption and a lot of heat.Gtx 780ti is worse than rx570 which cost ~160$ new.
Here is new pc build with rx 570 for 566$ if you want you can swap gpu for rx 580 which is still a decent card nowadays.Or more ram...you have some budget left.

Xcoool got a reaction from Slayer3032 in I need help with my extremely buggy x58 build
Did you try to test ram sticks?Or run with just one stick? With these amount of random issues it can be anything.Ram,bad connection on cpu, maybe try to re-seat it.Sometimes bad cpu connection can cause some strange behavior.
-
Xcoool got a reaction from Fasauceome in Do the CPUs max. RAM speeds matter?
Well AMD like high speed ram.Higher frequency makes ram a bit faster.AMD support officially up to 2933.But there are stick certified to work at higher clocks speeds...
However this also depends on motherboard, better motherboard will support higher speeds. You dont have to overclock CPU in order to enable D.O.C.P (ram overclocking)
