a 6950 to a 7950, aka the 280, is not worth the upgrade. Buy a used 290 or 290x. You can find them for sub $200. They are leaps and bounds better. As mentioned above: your due for a whole PC overhaul, really. Again - buy used if you have to. As for the PSU; you should be fine. 290x pulls like 230watts at the wall. Recommended PSUs for video cards indicate total system power, not singular device.

Nexus 9. It's also a better shield tablet than the shield tablet. hah! It's made by HTC and has front facing speakers - at about $400 USD I believe. also... has the Nvidia K1 in it. So yeah.

Yeah I'm going to buy a decent fan/AIO so I can OC the CPU. That's why I opted for a Z97 instead of a much cheaper H97 board. I was actually looking for a 970 but they are all sold-out and on backorder. That 290 is only $300 though! hard to beat that...

Having been shopping at Ncix since it was just a single store (i use that word loosely) in Vancouver - I naturally stumbled upon Linus Tech Tips when it became it's own brand on youtube. I remember being so proud owning a 1.3ghz Thunderbird paired with a Geforce 2. Eventually I had the best CRT money could buy: the Viewsonic P95f+B <-- which I didn't even have to look up the model name, it's that memorable. All this so I could play Everquest on my 56k modem. I greatly appreciate most of your work. I feel you give an honest, and "average joe" approach - which i mean in the most positive manner. My favorite format being more of the quirky ones, which better highlight your own individual personas and interactions. "hide the sausage" coming to mind. For product reviews; I wouldn't mind seeing more wearables and accessories such as earphones, smart watches and really anything you can spend some personal time with. Even though your reviews of, say, phones are a bit late - they really provide some real-world insight that an average person can take interest in. I think accessories such as keyboards, mice, speakers and perhaps even car electronics could really shine as it allows you to add your persona as you spend time with it. The opposite being a motherboard review. If I were to win one item, I would definitely benefit the most from the laptop, however, seeing as a I am an infrequent user of this site and more of a silent, loyal youtube view - I would choose the Microsoft Surface Pro 3; as this would allow me to finally have a handy portable I can do typing and minor video editing on. Keep up the good work. You guys just need to keep being yourselves.

290 is a good choice. Don't expect it to game well on 3 monitors though - not even 780ti can do that. At the least, not on high settings. If you haven't already bought the 3 monitors - considering getting one of the LG ultra wide screens; or play on a TV.

290x over 780 easy. If you can afford the Sapphire vapor-x go for it! That being said, if you end up getting a 780 it trades blows with the 290 (non x) which is still pretty good. IMO go whatever has the better deal ATM.

Close your eyes, spin around and choose whatever is in front of you. Unless you are doing some extreme LN2 overclocking; the only thing that should concern yourself is form factor (ATX, mATX, ITX. etc) and chipset. Get the latest chipset for your CPU and call it a day. At this point it's a matter of "ohhh jeez I really like the colour of this one instead, hurrr. duurrr"

The 880 will be within a few percentile of the current 780ti, just like the decades of GPU releases before it from both sides. The only card that ever blew me away was the dual-GPU voodoo cards that costed as much as a car would today. This was the 90's

Duel-GPUs are not necessarily ment for multiple displays, they combine power to output better FPS. 2 cards in one Pc can still be used for one display- you don't have to go that route though. Traditionally, people want better GPUs to display better grapics and higher resolutions. If you are getting a 780ti, then "2.5k" aka, 1440p monitors would be a nice fit for it. They look much more sharp than a 1080 display. Or, you can stick with your current display and just crank the graphics to "ultra" and call it a day.
