  1. Thanks everyone for the help! Turns out, it was HDR causing the problem. I tried turning off Auto HDR which didn't quite work, the ultimate solution was to just nuke it all together. That fixed it, so now I just have to remember to manually turn it back on whenever I wanna game. Just another one of the small prices that have to be paid, in order to be a PC gamer lol.
  2. Hey all, hopefully someone here has seen or experienced this issue and can suggest a solution. Recently I upgraded my monitor to an LG Ultra Gear, I still have my two older 1080p HP monitors hooked up for now also, to achieve a 3 monitor setup. Ever sense hooking this LG monitor up, I have been STUCK with Windows 11 night light issues. My main issue is that when I wake the PC after an extended time of being away (morning, noon or night), it wakes with night light on. At which point I cant turn it off unless I restart my PC, if I try to turn it off in the Windows settings, the window just freezes then closes and nothing happens. I've tried all the typical stuff: Turning off the night light auto mode (Windows doesn't even save this change and just reverts it back) Updated GPU driver Updated Win Updated Display Driver Deleted/reset the registry entries for night light Nothing has been able to correct this issue, now is this a life or death issue, no of course not, but having to do a restart every time I want to use my PC since thats the only way to fix this, until the PC goes back into sleep mode again... man does it become quite annoying. Ultimately I would rather this headache just be off indefinitely at this point rather than having to keep doing this dance with my PC lol. Hopefully somebody, anybody, could shed some light on this issue? Thanks all!
  3. Okay, so i've got Sony fanboy friends who fight me tooth and nail and refuse to look at the facts, and the facts show that Microsoft is setup to blow Sony up on sales this generation. Let me explain why, this year is all Microsoft. Regardless of the great Sony exclusives (which they do make banger exclusives!). I hate to break it to the Sony fans, but Covid has set Microsoft up for a win this year with their Series S $25/mo (Series x $30/mo) financing + GamePass Ultimate deal. Allow me to explain. Currently because of the Covid lockdowns, there is an 8.4% unemployment rate in the US, that is 13.6million people and family's without work and on benefits. In Canada that number is a 7.47% unemployment rate. You have people who have to decide on paying rent or eating, going out to eat or stocking up on pasta noodles and eating at home with what little money they have to spend now. Come time for Christmas when these consoles are released, those people (gamers, parents buying their kids for Christmas, grand parents, etc) will have 4 option. The PS5 at $499 (No included games out of the box, and online play is an additional monthly fee.) The PS5 Digital at $399 (No included games out of the box, and online play is an additional monthly fee.) or Series S $25/mo (finance to own). Series X $30/mo (finance to own). -Gamepass Ultimate (100+ games) -EA Play library (40+ EA games) -Cloud Gaming via their app. -Online play at no additional cost. --------------------------------------------------------- Now Sony will move numbers, there is no denying that at all! However, they are going to be feeling the heat from MS this year. Because in the 2020 Covid economy, the average typical consumer (not what we would consider a gamer boy/girl) aren't going to be nearly as concerned with the having the "highest end graphics", as much as they are going to want to get the most value out of what little spending money they have available due to the financial changes they've experience from the pandemic. So long as they can actually play the newest games. And $25/$30 upfront is far easier to stomach than $399 out of pocket. Also another factor to think about is the multi kid households, you can get up to 4 Xboxs for as little as $100 upfront, each with their own library of games and Xbox Live. That is insane.
  4. The wall outlet plug, just above the plug with the powerstrip that the PC is using. Which I suspect has something to do with the initial sound from the computer when I turn the fan on.
  5. Oh jeeze, I don't remember the brand. It was just an off the shelf at Staples. I built the PC around new years of 2016, so it just hit 4 years old.
  6. Hey there, I couldn't find this anywhere on the forums (likely due to its ridiculousness hah). I was hoping to get some advice or opinions on a decision im on the fence about. So when I built my rig few years back, my 450watt PSU was plenty. I've sense over the years as one would expect, upgraded my GPU and added more HDDS/SSD's, as well as plenty of extra USB peripherals. Which leads me to my current state of affairs, my PC has no problem with regular gaming or everyday usage. However I do find that if I turn on my desk fan, i'll get the chime from my machine as if something has been disconnected (no pop ups on screen tho of anything actually being disconnected). So I take that as a sign that the power supply in my PC is struggling or freaking out; something. So to remedy this I would obviously just upgrade my PSU, but then I thought about those externally powered USB 3.0 hubs. Would offloading the power draw of the all my USB peripherals from my PSU, onto an externally powered USB hub; be sufficient enough to ease the load on my PC? Granted a proper quality externally powered USB hub is in the ball park price range of a decent new PSU already.. but im just to lazy and dont have the free time to gut my PC and reconnect/cable manage the new PSU if I dont have to lol. Any thoughts if this would work, perhaps someone has done this before? Thanks all!
  7. Yah I mean of course Im aware of that haha. My concern and question however is whether or not it will damage my components having them running at 100% like that.
  8. Hey all, my apologies if this is in the wrong thread! My question is whether or not it is okay for the CPU & GPU to be running at 99-100% while gaming, also if temps are okay does that matter as well? My build is: CPU: i5-4460 ( I am aware I need an upgrade ) GPU: Zotac 1070ti Ram: 16gb Attached is my screenshot of CAM while playing Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, I have the game settings cranked to the highest, which of course is playing a factor into my usage numbers, but the game is running buttery smooth and Im not experiencing any hitches or frame drops. My concern however is whether or not pushing my system to run at 100% is going to break anything or fry my components as this is the first game ive had this type of usage from. The obvious solution would be to tone down the in game settings, however of course I would rather not do that if I don't have to lol. Thanks for the help! (Also is attached is a screenshot directly from Task manager showing the GPU is only using 5% so im not sure which to believe. Obviously my CPU is my bottleneck right now Im aware of that )
