  1. did this already- one end of the phanteks fan controller goes to the psu with sata connection the other goes to a 4 pin fan header on the motherboard. and the 3 4 pin fans i have are all plugged into this unit.
  2. Hi all just finished my first sff build got a gigabyte B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI mini itx motherboard. and using 3x corsair fans, 2 for intake 1 for exhaust. I knew i didn't have fan headers so went and got a Phanteks Universal Fan Controller, PH-PWHUB_02 low profile. Put all 3 fans into that and then put it into the fan header on the motherboard. However I cant seem to control the speed of the fans. they are all very loud and running fast. I've loaded the SIV and easytune software but that doesn't seem to know what RPM they are running at. I don't want to use the included remote- I'd rather the MB knew what was installed even if it thinks 3 fans are 1. any thoughts please
  3. Morning all hopefully someone will know the answer to this- Received a new computer from Chillblast- https://www.chillblast.com/chillblast-fusion-ryzen-3700x-custom-video-photo-editing-pc.html?category_id=415#product-details-tab-tab1136 happy with everything other than the noise- the CPU cooler seems to be whirring- like its having to speed up every couple of mins- then slowing down again. and repeating over again and again. similar sound to when you first boot. so i downloaded system information viewer- and used it to set fans to 'quiet' (see attached pic), but that doesn't seem to have changed anything, i then went to make a recording to send to chillblast to show them the temps of the CPU which are in the 60's when idle. i pressed record and left it for an hour but it didn't prompt me to save the recording- where is the file saved??? Any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Got to decide between 2 motherboards and just cant decide. Without detailing the build which one do you guys prefer and why? GIGABYTE B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI https://www.gigabyte.com/uk/Motherboard/B450-I-AORUS-PRO-WIFI-rev-10#kf or ASUS ROG STRIX B450-I GAMING https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B450-I-GAMING/

  6. i was hoping for a comment that would clear up the issue of who does the best onboard. however why should i go msi??
  7. Hi all been a long time since ive build anything so need advice on motherboard/cpu combination. The PC will mostly be used for internet, office, video, downloading, a little Photoshop/illustrator. only gaming done is football manager and cities skyline- non-graphical games The PC is on all day every day but wont be overclocked/stretched. Most of the build is done. i wanted high quality, trusted components but now i need to think about the best motherboard cpu combo that will do everything i need. My thoughts were i5 with a asrock itx motherboard, but now amd has the vega graphics. Not looking for a graphics card- onboard only. Also i have no idea whether i need a H370 or Z370 or X470 etc etc. basically im stuck and would love some advice. CPU- ??? Motherboard- ??? 9. 2 issues with this case 1- half the case is designed to take a graphics card i wont be putting in there. 2- the price.
  10. sorry all, but i dont like either of those options not keen on the flex psu- would much prefer the sfx unit from corsair- nuc is way too small for me- its generally not powerful enought. and the 2 cases are not very nice. i dislike cube cases but of the fact they stack components rather ,badly on top of each other- used to have a shuttle pc years ago and that just overheated.
  11. bit of everything- it stays on all day every day. but dont want big box. no gaming at all mostly office, internet, little bit of adobe, music etc
  12. Hi all I'm looking for a case, as close to what you see in this pic. The pic shows a poorly photo-shopped Modivio case- http://modivio.com/ I need something that will hold a itx motherboard, proper sfx psu - e.g. corsair sfx450 and room for cable management. More importantly is is able to fit enough fans to keep cool- but also it doesn't have a space for a graphics card. I don't want the annoyance of having wasted space where the graphics card would go. Any thoughts from anyone welcome.
  13. Hi all stuck on my build- the metallic gear mini case is able to fit a full size psu but im worried that it may be a bit too big and i should go for a smaller version instead. My options are a Corsair RMX 550 or a Corsair SF450. The RMX550 is gold rated and the new Corsair SF450 is platinum. I really want to take advantage of the 0 rpm mode and keep everything cool and quiet and there will be no gaming on this pc, so it will rarely be under load. Any thoughts on which PSU to fit into this case and why? any advice welcome. THanks
  14. HI all just the start of the project- this will take me a while. but got the case today, its available in the uk- and am very happy with it.Happy to answer any questions about it. installed 2x 140mm fans in the front and moved the 120mm provided fan to the rear.added a Samsung ssd. will be adding asus motherboard, i5 and corsair psu shortly. Maybe not quite sff but it suits mepics so far

  16. Hi all, would love some feedback on a new build idea. Found what i think is a very good, reasonably priced case. PC would be on all day and mostly used for internet, office use, streaming and photoshop. thoughts please. 17. bugger- really- i hoped you wouldnt say that. i thought a driver/software issue or something like that. But as i said nothing has changed. so you are probably right that its mechanical.
  18. HI all im am using a logitech mx anywhere mouse. absolutely love it- apart from in the last couple of months it has started to double click when i single click. I dont mean its physically clicking twice, i mean its doing a double click when i clearly press once. Annoyingly its sporadic and happens randomly. Didnt use to do it and nothing seems to have changed PC wise. ITs very annoying as i'l go to close some software and it will close the one behind as well. Any thoughts? aside from the mouse i am using a logitech k400+ keyboard and using a unifying receiver for both -software used is logitech options, but only for the keyboard- mouse doesnt show up
  19. HI all need some advice. looking to do a build in a small case. will be using the portion normally dedicated to the graphics card for a aio cooler- looking to build a very cool mini itx. but... fitting an aio may be difficult because of the dimensions of the case. Im unsure as to how much, if at all, i can manipulate the tubing and i definitely need one where i can angle the tubing coming out from the pump. Any suggestions at to what, if anything, will fit? attached is build design and dimensions of case 370 x 330 x 72 mm, 8.8L http://modivio.com/xcase-l/
  20. according to everything ive read the corsair h100i pro rbg goes from 30-40 decibels, whereas the cryorig is 30 decibels normally. no info on how much it can go up to- so surely the noise level is going to be similar. but the corsair pro must be better for cooling and will have an affect of cooling the surrounding areas? any thoughts?
  21. you make a very god point. my only issue now is that the case is null and void as i wont be using that space for a graphics card. hence the original layout design. any thoughts on a case which doesnt include a large area for graphics cards?
  22. Christ what have i started!!! didn't think i'd get these responses within 10 minutes- but im very grateful i did consider a cryorig c7cu (copper version) as i hear good things- but i am looking for cool overkill- no heat whatsoever. i take the point that some of the side fans are unnecessary. not sold on ryzen- definitely an Intel man. are there any issues you can think of in terms of usability/functionality- i.e. anything that could stop this plan working? or anything ive missed. also anyone have thoughts on the modivio cases?
  23. HI all wold love some advice on this potential build. I'm looking to build a mini-itx system. This system will be used for office use mostly, with some photoshoping etc. Not for any gaming- no graphics card Primarily this machine needs to stay cool as it will be on all day, every day. I got some feedback from the forums about cases which are designed without a graphics card in mind and got recommended Modivio - http://modivio.com/xcase-l/ I've spoken to them and they have said that the space for the graphics card can be used for a 240mm radiator and the space for the ports can be covered. So i've badly mocked up an idea of the parts for you all to view. would love some feedback about the design, and specifically its ability to stay very cool whilst being small. PARTS LIST Processor- Intel - Core i5-8600 3.1GHz 6-Core Processor Motherboard- Asus - ROG Strix Z370-I Gaming Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory- Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory HDD- Samsung - 970 Evo 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive PSU- Corsair - SF 450W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply FANS - 4x AAB Cooling Super Silent Fan 6 - Silent and Efficient 60mm Fan CPU cooler- Corsair - H100i PRO 75.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Case- Modivio Xcase L
  24. Not bad ideas, but missing the point- i think the oly case that comes near the requirements is the NCASE. I dont want to go down the nuc route at all. i need a case with better airflow. any more ideas where the space for graphics can be reused for radiator use are welcome
