I am in the market for a large mouse mat for my desk, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a mat that has low friction and is preferably under 30 euro (the price can be slightly over). My desk is 150x75 CM, so I am looking for something that is similarly large. I didn't find any fitting results with the search so I hope I'm not creating a thread for a well covered topic. tldr; ideally <30€ should fit on a 150x75 CM desk low friction should cover most of desk (not a requirement but a nice to have.)

After a recent "Coffee Incident" I've found myself needing to replace my Blackwidow Ultimate that I bought quite a while ago. I've only ever heard good things about the G710+ so I was wondering if it'd be a good idea to get one in 2021. the board came out in 2012 so I'm also not sure if a used one would be any good (I feel like the switches would be a bit tired after almost 9 years) - FoxOfWar

Hello everyone, Todays reason for me to come to the realm of tech (LTT Forums) is because I recently found an old HDD that I used to use as my main drive. its a 1TB WD Blue from about 2016~ which contains a lot of files with sentimental value for me. (Backups from a few files I had on my first PC) sadly the SATA Connector is fully broken off and only the pins are still there (check pics). I originally thought about changing the controller but then thought that might be a bad idea. does anyone have any ideas how of fix this?

Little update, I fastend the screws of the cooler and now it dosen't even hit 50 °C after 16 minutes of Aida64 Stresstests!

The Airflow should be good since I have the side panel removed but who knows, I'll just try to remount it tomorrow (its midnight here)

That Fix worked! it now shows 8 cores 16 threads ? and for the mount, yes it was very hard to install (lol) and I'll try to remount it tomorrow.

it may be a bad mount now that I've come to think about it

in CPU-Z is shows up as 8 Cores 16 Threads but most programs also only use 8 threads

I'm using HWinfo64 to measure temps btw.

Oof really? I hate reinstalling windows since It takes forever to reinstall programs.

Not too sure but the ambient should be between 21 and 25 °C

Hello everyone, after finally getting my 3700x + x570-e gaming combo up n' running today I noticed that Windows 10 dosen't show all my cores? it detects the 3700x to be an 8 Core CPU but it shows up as 4 cores 8 threads? is this a limit with Windows 10 or a driver issue?

Hello everyone, after finally getting my 3700x + x570-e gaming combo and installing them (which took 2 hours) I noticed that the thermal performance of the Dark Rock 4 isn't quite on the level I expected. under extended load it gets up to 75 °C at stock and 80°C at 3.8 Ghz! the CPU only has a 65 watt TDP so I think it should perform better. is this just the cooler being weird or did I install it wrong? (Additional info: I used the included thermal paste, I think I mounted it correctly, this is my first time installing a 'big' CPU cooler (not the box one))

Hello everyone, Since cristmas is coming around and I'm currently building my amazon wishlist for this year, I was wondering if you guys know some good motherboards / upgrades for my system that work with: Ryzen 7 3700x (probably what i'll buy), Vega 56 (works great so I probably won't upgrade soon), RM750x(Vega needs it), and 2400 Mhz Ram. features like WIFI or RGB aren't important to me. the only real requirements besides Pricepoint and Hardware compatability are that it needs atleast 4 ram banks, decent space for components (so a full sized one basically) and USB 3.0 ports. Nice to have features would probably be a second M.2 slot, 10 Gig Ethernet, a lot of SATA III Ports and maybe support for good overclocking - Prec1sioN.

Some of the Software I use requires an R9 380 running on Linux. but I use it less and less often thanks to finally getting rid of said software. the last time I used it when I couldn't use my Vega 56 thanks to it being sent back to Mindfactory.de to new Thermalpaste applied to it.

Oh yea I switch between them from time to time my PSU is a 750 Watt RM750x

my system is still the same as in my infobox btw.

Hey There, After recently getting my Vega 56 back and reinstalling Windows 10 I noticed an issue besides the Hotspot temp hitting 95 °C under load (which is apprently normal?) the entire System sometimes crashes to a Gray colored screen without any text. the RGB on my Keyboard and Mouse still works (which it dosen't on a bluescreen) but I still have to hard reset the system. Is this Driver related? or a hardware bug.

Hmm... atleast id still se an improvement since my current HDD can only read about 30 - 50 MB/s

i'd mainly use it for stuff like Games and Huge Programs where the response time is less important than raw bandwith but thanks for the reply

Hello everyone, After recently getting rid of one of my Servers I thought of way I could use the Spare HDDs that I now had laying around to improve my gaming experience and I thought; "Maybe I could run them im RAID 0 to get really good performance" for those of you wondering they are 4 Seagate Cheetah 15K.7 with around 300GB ( I think) each. they are still in pretty good condition since I rarely used them. Any ideas on how fast a raid 0 with these would be compared to a cheap ssd?

For me I think that B and C sounded pretty good (maybe C sounds the best) and A was the worst. I mainly noticed that Voices and small details sounded a bit compressed

that shouldn't be an issue since I have a working first-gen chip laying around
