Ryzen is the better choice IMHO!
 
3600 is a good cpu

i would do 3600 with b550, leave room to upgrade

ok I disabled some apps at startup and now it is around 6.4gb at idle and that seems ok because I have a lot of background apps

yeah i recommend upgrading to sometighnt like a ryzen 7 3700x or ryzen 4000 equvivalent (4700X)

What case do you have? If you input all of your current parts into PCpartpicker then browse GPUs it should only list cards that will fit.
