I have built myself a new PC a few days ago and noticed it has a really strange Problem.
Problem:
USB drives inserted into the USB 2.0 ports on the back-plate of this mainboard can not be safely removed. (All other ports do work) I am using windows 10. Generally all USB 2.0 ports be they back-plate or front-panel have this issue. I first thought I connected the front-panel wrong, but after seeing the same issue on the back-plate I knew that this couldn't be the problem.
More info:
Once a flasdrive is inserted into an usb port:
Normal behavior(all 3.0 and 3.1 ports): windows makes a sound, opens the file explorer and enables the taskbar icon for safely removing flasdrives
USB 2.0 behavior: no sound, no notification, drive is accessible in file explorer like every other USB, no safety remove icon in taskbar, even when running ( RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll ) to manually start the safety remove feature there are no drives listed
The problem does also affect the front panel USB 2.0 but not the front panel USB 3.0 ports.
There is one USB 2.0 port that does work. I have marked it here: Picture
In Ubuntu everything works as far as I can tell (I have never used Ubuntu before).
In Win10 in the device manager there are 2 USB 3.0 hubs listed. One for the USB 3.0 ports and one for the USB 2.0 ports. The USB 2.0 ports hub uses the AMD USB 3.1 hub controller. The USB 3.0 ports hub uses the AMD USB 3.0 controller.
I have already reinstalled windows 10 pro several times and tried the chipset driver on the mainboard website without success.
Thanks for any help!!!
