  1. What's your budget? I saw this list. From a YouTuber just josh. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1pGJndsZoy_0bjV4oFHUWUPK7LwEoHEv17pRkGoDjiF4/htmlview Used some of his vids to picked up my work laptop. Zenbook 14x
  2. Hello all. Have any of you used either or both of these. Would you recommend? Or something else? I'm leaning more towards the Asus since it's under 1k. Would seem to fit what I need and from what I saw it is well built. The acer one seems good too cause I could potentially do some light gaming. Meaning I probably wouldn't game too much on it. But the power might be good too. I Had posted before about recommendations on a laptop that would be somewhat compatible to MacBook air M1 in terms of build and screen quality. Keyboard, trackpad and snappiness. Since I laptop for work and school. Mostly data stuff. Like excel, sql, power bi. Thanks everyone for any input. Acer x 14 ASUS X14
  3. Thanks. Lots to look at. Yeah definitely know I won't be getting something comparable to the M1 price. I'm ok going more. Just don't need too much computer you know? Literally could use my phone but I like a nice keyboard and trackpad when working.
  4. Well there's quite a few that use option, fn, ctrl in combo vs just alt. But I mean more because at work we use PC and at home I have a PC I just need something mobile right now.
  5. Hello all, Have not shopped for a Laptop for a long time. I have no clue anymore what chips are good and what brands are top in qualify. Last I remember the XPS13 was top notch. But anyway. I need a laptop. I was thinking of just getting a MacBook Air M1 at Costco for $799.99. (Since that's what I recommend my family when they ask lol) But don't feel like learning excel and productivity shortcuts again. Could I ask this forum for recommendations at a sub $1,000 that will compare to the Air M1? Looking for a snappy pc, mostly doing data analysis. Excel. Not looking to game on it. Also want the keyboard to be great. Same for track pad. Hopefully build quality is good too. Lots to ask. Maybe not possible on a the windows platform. Edit: what would be something comparable not necessarily at the $800 could be more. Thanks.
  6. These A50s have been working well for 9 years already, but now the battery is going out and I am looking to get some new headphones. I have no clue what's good out there. Hoping someone out there has similar needs and would give me a recommendation. My wife has the Sony wh-1000xm4 and I like that quick pickup and its working. (of course the noise canceling is cool but not needed) I like to play single player games so I need them for more cinematic games or for movies and music. So far the only ones I see look nice are the SteelSeries Arctis 7+. Thoughts?
  7. Gotcha thanks, I will use the extra wireless keyboard and mouse I have, and hide it away when not need it. Will look at KVM when I have extra cash.
  8. Does it work with just one monitor? I saw on linus video he used one but it was a quad video feed, sitll gonna give it a try the kvm are expensive for a temp necessity
  9. Hey guys, I have two windows 10 PCs use them for editing, but cause of space constrains only have one Ultra Wide Monitor. Any software or switch solutions for this? I was thinking about synergy the one that Linus promoted, does that work well?

  11. Yeah I have a 60gb ssd scratch disk, this stuff was bought a while ago, now the wait times are bottle necking my productivity, cant be waiting 8 hrs for all the footage to convert to dnxhd. Plus we are thinking of offering 4K soon. So from what I searched Nvme can help, I just dont know what order to use it as, OS, programs etc, or converting disk, temp file storage?
  12. One of the things that lags me so hard is converting h264 from cameras to dnxhd for editing, then rendering, and of course the exports to mpeg bluray and h264. I'm going to get a 1tb ssd and a 500gb nvme m.2. But I don't know how to place them, should I do 1 tb for the files and the nvme for os, programs, transcoding? Right now in my system I use an SSD for OS, programs etc. And a SSHD for converting, Premiere Files, media storage for the project. Once I am done with the project I back it up on a few large HDDs, What you guys think?
  13. Have you tried using pc part picker? If you input the things you want you will even get a compatibility check. Also what I do sometimes is i go to a builder like maingear and put my budget and see what parts they picked then see if i can get them cheaper. at pcpartpicker they also have guides all you do is put your budget and take a look. such as this one its amd 1000 but after tax and shipping you probably be at 1200 maybe not maybe less https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/X77Ycf/great-amd-gamingstreaming-build
  14. awesome thanks, the case is the cooler master with the two huge 200 as intakes
  15. Was thinking of getting this cooler for the i9 since it has RGB but im hearing it wont be enough for the i9-9900k. Anyone have experience with these two parts? I was recommended the Dark Rock Pro 4 instead, kinda want rgb tho. Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML240L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
  16. gotcha, and how about the be quiet straight power 11 750 i did the calculator and its says that one is good it has 750 continuous power.
  17. Dang, thought I had it? I kinda wanted to RGB lols, but i was looking at the one you sent me earlier the dark rock pro 4 I don't get whats wrong with my PSU.
  18. This is my second build, upgrading from a 2012 PC. Should I get thermal paste other than the one included in the cooler? If so recommendations? Does it matter whether I get a 2 ram sticks or 4? I got 2 for now cause i will upgrade it to 32 GBs. Thanks all! 19. I am finally going to upgrade my 2012 PC that i use to edit and game on. Here's what I picked, I got he i9 as I have large HDDs and will at one point try to speed them up with Optane. Moving hundreds of gigs to back up one clients video takes for ever sometimes. i picked the cooler master case and liquid cooler cause I'm hoping it be less loud than my old one. and be able to cool the cpu enough to overclock in summer (when I get most of my jobs) (BTW do y'all know if the cooler master combo has settings to run really quite when not in loud like when watching Youtube, simple things?) I'm opened to changes I can't really go up to much on my budget. (There is some things with rebate so It might get too, like graphics card has 50 rebate) PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mr2FD2 Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mr2FD2/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel - Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor ($525.99 @ Walmart) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML240L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($69.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z390 AORUS ULTRA ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($243.05 @ Newegg Business) Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($129.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung - 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($127.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate - FireCuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive ($99.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB GAMING OC Video Card ($759.89 @ OutletPC) Case: Cooler Master - MasterCase H500M ATX Mid Tower Case ($184.99 @ B&H) Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($113.30 @ OutletPC) Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit ($139.89 @ OutletPC) Total: $2394.87 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-03-15 03:01 EDT-0400
  20. Was thinking of just getting a server case, like this one at newegg https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16811147164 But, it doesn't have space for optical drives which I need to burn clients videos.
  21. Regular ATX size, I have three 3.5 HDD, and 3 SSDs, 2 optical drives.
  22. I see, been looking for a slim case i can hide away haha
