mxk reacted to Likwid in i7 9700 not running at full turbo frequency?
@Khader87 Looks like you're hiiting your power limit for your board VRM, maybe you can attach some cooling fan to cool it directly?
Well shit on fire, you need to attack heatsink and give VRM direct airflow, I don't think your motherboard likes what are you doing

Yes, but you likely had to include a way to be contacted, likely through email or something.... I didn't enter so I don't know the full rules of what you need to submit and how, but I'm sure they have a way to contact you.

mxk reacted to Fasauceome in New to Pc building. Would appreciate tips.
The 2600 is both cheaper and better
unless you really like the look, you should cut it out of the budget to save some money for the rest of the build
low end asus boards are generally overpriced
for a mere $10 more, you can get an RX 580 8GB which annihilates the 1050 ti, or for less money you can get an RX 570 which still leaves it in the dust.
The Thermaltake Smart is unfortunately a terrible PSU. To learn a bit more about PSUs, check out the links in my signature below, clicking my PSU takes you to the PSU tier list, and also clicking the other links will take you to various topics relevant to the forum.

I went with a cheaper SSD that will yield the same experience and shaves some cost off, grabbed a higher quality PSU and motherboard, and tossed in an RX 580. You still have the budget for the water cooler if you really want it, but low end water coolers are never worth it in my opinion.

You did something else, as RAM sticks won't effect a WIndows install like that. Did you mess with the BIOS at all?

Either or, they both support 9th gen chips

mxk got a reaction from Wonggoruar in Budget 240fps fortnite performance
I mean if you think it helps you or you're seeing a difference thats cool I guess.
intel and budget shouldn't usually be in the same sentence unless it's saying that Intel doesn't have good budget options compared to AMD.
Stick with Ryzen CPUs right now. The nvidia GPU pricing isn't terrible right now but for sure if you want to save then stick with AMD.
I'm not as familiar with the new Zen 2 CPUs right now, but the other people in this thread can definitely help you make the right choices when it comes to what parts you want to pick.

I'm not trying to be rude in any way, but Luke is right. 240hz is pretty much useless. Linus even did a video with one of his employees who was a high level CSGO player. They both said they couldn't see a visual difference. 144hz looks the same and is as smooth.
You can hit high frames with lower tier parts, but If I was being practical I would say sell the monitor and get a decent 144hz one so you can get better parts.

i mean... fortnite is quite cpu intensive from my experience
but 240hz/fps is useless for 99,99%

mSATA is a different connector, you mean M.2 SATA?
only M2_1 slot supports both SSDs, M2_2 slot only supports NVMe/PCIe SSD.

No. You need an SSD.
Where are you from?
What store are you buying it from?
What is your budget?

mxk reacted to Princess Luna in Difference between GPU
They perform the same but the 2080 Ti is a gaming specific card while the TITAN V is a hardware acceleration/compute card hence the huge price difference.
OP there is absolutely no consistency on the video cards you listed as options.
Vega 11 is an APU, if you can buy the V then you should just grab a 2080 Ti and call it a day.
If you are trying to figure out value then the best value would be the RX 580

Maybe theres a BIOS update for your board. If so, that might be able to help. This sounds to me like a bug in the motherboard software.

mxk got a reaction from ImAyaanKhan in Picking RAM speed is driving me crazy
The difference will barely even be noticeable. 3000 is a great speed for Ryzen so I would save the $25 and stick with 3000mhz.

mxk reacted to dgsddfgdfhgs in What gpu should I buy?
used rx570/580 , so you can upgrade sooner
new gtx1660 non ti , pretty perfect for 1080p solid 60fps+
rtx2060 "super", may never have chance to upgrade for gpu at 1080p
