  1. Yep, the Cablemod cable have two 8 pins, but the GPU need a 6 pins and 2+6 pins. And by connectors, do you mean the black plastic? If that's the case, would it be different if I just cut out the two extra pins?
  2. Hello Guys, I've got a Cablemod PCIE Power Cable Extension and it's in an 8+8 configuration, this would not fit my RTX 2070 Super, I really don't like the look of the Corsair's PSU 6+(2+6) cable. My question is, can I cut out the extra 2 pins on the cablemod cable to make them fit? Would this cause any issue?
  3. I tried reinstalling Chrome, still the same.
  4. I can try that, but I also found out that winrar have the same issue.
  5. Hello all, I just put together a Desktop PC and while I am setting up windows and other stuff, I notice Chrome took a good 4 to 5 seconds to launch, the speed doesn't change by launching in from a cold boot vs re opening it multiple times. I have a 970 Evo and coming from a laptop that's running a slower intel nvme. The chrome on my laptop launch instantly, yet all the chrome settings and even the background image is the same across two PC. Chrome is installed on Nvme on both system, they also run the exact windows 10 pro and is updated to the lastest version. I also want to note that I have tried launching photoshop on both system, although they have a different version, the desktop managed to launch PS in just 2 seconds while my laptop takes around 3 to 5 seconds. I wonder if this have something to do with DRAM cache. Note that I try relaunching PS and Chrome multiple times to make sure. If (on the desktop) I launch another chrome if chrome is still running, it launch instantly. I kindly appreciate any help, thanks. Here is the spec for both system: Desktop: - i7 9700k 5 ghz OC all cores - Asus Z390-F - 16 GB DDR4 3200 mhz cas 16 - Samsung Evo 970 500 GB (boot) - Crucial Mx500 1 TB Laptop: - i7 8750h locked at 3.6 ghz all cores - Acer mobo - 16 GB DDR4 2666 mhz cas 19 - Intel SSD 600p 500 GB (boot) - Crucial Mx500 500 GB edit: Seems like opening rar and zip files takes longer too, while the intel nvme open them instantly (even via a network drive), the 970 evo took a good 2 seconds.
  6. try clean install all the drivers first see if it work. then proceed to clean install of windows.
  7. Out of my mind I wonder if a Malware or Virus can damage or affect other OS that has been install on a different drive/partition in the system. Is there a special case like the second OS is the same OS as the main one? What if Windows with Linux? or Windows with Windows?
  8. I just cap the fps to 60 via Geforce Experience. it run smooth, I think i'll stick with this result. but thx for help.
  9. Hey, I have Acer Helios 300: - I7 8750H - GTX 1060 6gb - 16 gb DDR4 Nvidia Driver 398.36 My cpu randomly slow down to 900mhz at a temperature that doesn't make sense to me (70°C-80°C), Normally it will throttle at 95°C. It happens on Forza Horizon 4, I tested with low demanding game, has no issue. The question is, why the Fuck my cpu throttle at around 75°C? I have cap my fps to 72 in Forza Horizon 4, the cpu doesn't throttle when I cap the fps to 48. To be clear, I can run at 90°C with no throttle (non gaming task). (ThrottleStop) I have -140mV undervolt to core and cache. Turbo boost max and Turbo boost short is set at 50. Speed Shift is enable and set to 0. CPU clock is cap to 3.6 ghz on all cores, and GPU is overclocked with my own curve via MSI Afterburner and +120 on the memory clock. GPU temp is around 74°C while playing for FH4, GPU usage is around 90% and VRAM is around 4300MB. CPU load on single is around 70-80% non of any core reach 100% usage. The GPU does has Voltage limit and power limit on it.
  10. I was thinking of modifying a laptop in the future where I use custom fan and heatsink. I'm not sure if i can manage to connect 140mm pwm desktop fan (noctua's) to the laptop mobo. since the connector on the mobo is much smaller, so I thought of using fan hub.

  12. As the title said, If I don't connect the CPU fan to the mobo but it's being power by external hub that isn't connect to the mobo. Will it boot to windows?
