  1. As the title suggest; the onboard WiFi card on my motherboard suddenly stopped working but I can't do any trouble shooting as it does not show in device manager or is detected by Intel Support Assistant. Tried updating the bios to the latest stable version, fresh install of OS, power cycle, remove CMOS battery, restore bios default, and downloaded some bloatware "driver installers" and none seem to detect the onboard Intel Dual Band AC 3168 WiFi card, installing the driver downloaded from Intel also does not do anything. The onboard bluetooth works tho. :3 What more troubleshooting steps could I try?
  2. Okay, I'll send order that one. Just out of curiosity tho, what makes it better than Bazooka Max Wifi?
  3. Oh, sorry. That was a typo, I meant 150$, Gigabyte GA-B550M-AORUS-ELITE. Cheapest, yes. But I can't get it as they do not ship to my location. The cheapest B550, that will ship to my location is MSI MAG B550 MORTAR for 225$
  4. Yes, Most retailers with B550 stocks do not ship to my location, and if they offer shipping the cost is almost double the b450 ones.
  5. MSI MAG B550 MORTAR For 225$ The only board on stock that will ship to my location.
  6. I have upgraded to Ryzen 5 3600 / 1660 Super and unsure which B450 board to go for. Due to location, availability of stock, out of the box Ryzen 3000 support, I'm down to these choices. B450m Pro M2 Max - Php 5,900.00 (120$) B450m Mortar Max - Php 6,500.00 (132$) B450m Bazooka Max Wifi - Php 6,300.00 (128$) B550 boards are crazy expensive 120$~240$, so nope. I'm stuck with 3rd gen ready b450 boards, most retailers can't flash bios. I'm also stuck with MSI brand because other boards are *BUNDLE ONLY*... bundles are more expensive, and often come only with R5 2600.
  7. Solved the issue: I reseated my CPU again, used iGPU and got into bios and just restored to factory default setting.
  8. Last night, my computer lost power. For some reason, upon rebooting I opened a webpage and the system froze before restarting. But upon restart I had no beep code, over and over, I couldn't boot and there's no beep code-- I removed everything: CPU, RAM, GPU, PSU, etc. And blasted it compressed air. Still, no beep code, I once again reseated my RAM and now I have 4 short beeps: System Timer Failure. Reseating RAM would cost no beep code, and power cycling would cost 4 short beep. Is there any more troubleshooting I could do? Any more information required? Thanks for the help. System config: Asrock H81M DGS R.2 i5 4590 2 sticks hyperx ram Gtx 970 600W korean psu.
  9. I would, but I'm afraid my neighbour couldn't even afford a used 400w psu. I'll jst chuck it on my life lesson bin, and I'm getting a new tower case.
  10. Thank you for the replies. I tested my RAM on my friend's rig and it's working fine. I guess the only option now is to replace my CPU, or get another board.
  11. I've got an open air case and my neighbor's cat peed on it. The PC was turned on as I was copying files. It doesn't boot nor beeps (after drying for 3 days),but my GPU still has display when tested on a friend's rig. I got a new motherboard and PSU but still nothing. The fans would spin for a sec then turn off-- no post, no beeps. I can't test my CPU on friend's rig as we have diferent sockets. Could that damned cat pee shorted my mobo killed my CPU but not my GPU? Most of it was on my GPU and PCIe x16.
  12. I might as well buy new hardware and just sell this old rig, I can get about $200 - $300 off of it. If I were to build around my $70 1070, what components should I go for? Leaning towards a budget friendly one.
  13. The problem is finding Xeon CPUs in Philippines. Most of the retailers in major cities didn't have them, and it's hard to find used ones. I guess I'll go for an i7-4770 or 4790 for $150 Thank you everyone! I should probably upgrade my 400W PSU too, huh...
  14. Does it have to be i7 4790k? The cheapest I could find i7 4790 and i7 4770, or would any 4th Gen i7 work? (I'm buying used 'cause retailers here aren't listing their 4th Gen CPUs anymore)
  15. I know my I3 would bottleneck the 1070 at some point, but I'm not sure if I should go with a 4th Gen I5 or I7. My current rig is: 1080p HDTV Monitor Intel I3 4170 GTX 750 Ti H81 MoBo 400W PSU 8GB RAM I was going to upgrade to GTX 1060 3GB and leave my I3 4th gen on my current build. But recently I've got a hold on a GTX 1070 for 70$. Only used for 5 months, not overclocked and working in good condition. I should probably upgrade to a better motherboard that supports better CPU but as a casual gamer I'm not really planning on throwing a lot of money. Thoughts?
