  1. It is, but i'll double check, maybe screw it using other holes, it's stupid but maybe it does something idk The noise seem to stop when it put my hands on (and apply a little bit of pressure) on the plastic railings that hold the PSU dust filter (It's a Corsair 760T case). This rules out the PSU because I'm not applying enough pressure to influence it, so my guess is either resonance or vibrations, or a mix of both. If it doesn't go away I think I'll put a small piece of wine cork cut in half below my case to apply some pressure constantly in that area. It seems stupid, but it ain't stupid if it works I guess ?
  2. I think this is simply case vibrations. I removed the PSU filter, the noise came back but was less loud, and I applied some pressure with my hands below the psu and the noise completely stopped. How can I fix this?
  3. It is a brand new one. I received it like 2 weeks ago. It was tested by EVGA before being sent and they were 100% sure it was fine.
  4. The noise is random. I don't have any way of reproducing it for sure, so doing that is going to be hard I think I'll try to play the rest of the day with the PSU dust filter removed and check if the noise still occurs. If it does come back I'll record it.
  5. Hello! My PSU that was already RMA'd once by EVGA has another problem now. It makes a noise exactly like this: (not my video). I can stop the noise by applying some pressure under my case where the PSU is. Never tried slapping it. The PSU isn't particularly hot too, it's just weird. This is really infuriating. Is this the PSU or case vibrations? My PSU should be clean as EVGA tests every RMA PSU before sending them. Can I fix this myself? I'll try to make a video next time it happens. It seem to only happen in game, never in benchmarks. Thank you.
  6. I never said the layout was ugly. The overall keyboard is uglier than a K70 if we compare the looks. The ducky looks like plastic, but the Corsair is all metal which gives it a premium feel and it has extra RGB on top. This is purely a matter of taste.
  7. I'm really tempted to get the Corsair on Amazon. They have a 1 year warranty so I should be good. I'll wait until the price drops to 130 (160 is too much for that keyboard imo), maybe next week I'll pull the trigger. Still listening to other opinions tho
  8. If I can choose, RGB all the way, especially Corsair RGB which has a pretty nice software. Ducky's RGB is nowhere near as personalisable, which is a turn off for me. (That and the "cheap look" of the leds) But, I don't know how much I value RGB. I'm trying to use my Strafe without lights on to "simulate" how a no backlit keyboard would feel, but it feels "empty".
  9. Hello! I'm looking for a new keyboard since my Strafe RGB developed key chattering (and occasional space bar failures) after just 8 months due to a few.. heated gaming sessions (Yes, I know, it's bad, I'm working on that). The 2 I have in mind now are (both with MX Reds) The Corsair K70 The Ducky One (RGB or White or No backlit, still can't decide) After asking on r/MechanicalKeyboards, most people seem to recommend me to avoid the Corsair like the plague and go with the Ducky, but I'd like some advice from another community to compare the opinions. My personal experience: I've owned a K95 before (until april of this year) and it lasted 3.5 years, even through the most heated of games where I punched my keyboard until most keys came off. (I've got better since, but damn that keyboard had seen hell and beyond) So, if I take my personal experience into account, that's my first time ever Corsair failed me. Also, I can't talk about Ducky, but they seem pretty nice and well built. Let's compare them: K70 (+) It has the same features as the Strafe and more. I use the Strafe's volume wheel a ton, as well as it's winlock key. I've gotten really used to it (+) RGB is pretty damn nice, my Strafe is my first RGB keyboard and it's good looking (IMHO). (-) Less durable Ducky (+) They seem to have a better build quality, as well as less QA issues. (+) Keycaps are standard, meaning that if I break one of them or that i just want a change in look, I can just order new ones anytime. (-) Uglier. I don't really like it's look, it's basic and the leds seem to be low quality (you can see a clear bright spot, the RGB is not uniform) Essentially, my heart tells me to go with the Corsair, because that's the one I'm sure to love, and my brain tell me to go with Ducky, even if it's uglier, because it's objectively a better board in terms of pure quality and it's the smarter purchase. The only thing I'm afraid with the Corsair is that it won't last long. What would you do in my situation? Thank you!
  10. Here is a video so you can judge better. I'll wait for this RMA process to be finished then decide if I want to keep it or not. judg
  11. Yay, the replacement arrived.. and it's kind of the same thing. 27 & 40 brightness here. But the glow seems less noticeable from a distance. I'll ship the old one back over the weekend and just decide if I can support it over the next week. If i just can't I'll ask amazon for another replacement, or maybe a full refund. It's really a shame. I like this monitor a lot.
  12. It sounds the same but it's quieter Anyway my replacement is coming in tomorrow, if that one has the same noise I'll know it's the PSU and not anything wrong with it I guess
  13. Just as a kind of follow up, I asked amazon about it: They apologized and said that they immediatly ordered a replacement monitor which is coming on Thursday. I have 30 days to ship the old one back, and they said that if the issue persists on the second monitor they'll refund my purchase entirely and "investigate" the item. Really cool of them, fingers crossed that the next one will be perfect! I really love this monitor, it's just the backlight bleed that bothers me, but if the issue still persists I might make the sacrifice of going TN just to have less issues. (Probably a 240hz 1080p then)
  14. About 3 working days for shipping it back, probably 2 or 3 more for them to ship the new one, and 3 more for delivery. Unless they cross ship ofc
  15. It’s not that bad, the picture makes it look worse. The thing bothering me the most is the fact that blacks a grey-ish in the upper/lower right corners. It only appears at certain angles but damn it’s annoying. I still got time to decide if I want to keep it, but if I do end up doing a RMA, does amazon cross ship? If they do I might as well do it since it won’t cost me anything, but if they don’t that’s another story.
  16. I still notice it, but I don't know if I want to go through a RMA just for that (The panel was sold & shipped by amazon) My main concern is that the replacement unit will have same or worse blb, or dead pixels, or another issues. I got lucky to have no other issue that this blb. Really sad Also, I don't think Amazon does cross shipping, so I'd probably have to send the old one first, and spend 2 weeks without a monitor. I can live with that (I kept my old one), but still, that'd bother me a lot just for that thing. Edit: This is barely noticeable with the naked eye. The thing bothering me is the orange-ish light in the top & bottom right corners. It disappears when I look from another angle, could it be IPS glow?
  17. Hello! I've just got my new XB271HU IPS monitor, and it's damn fine, no dead pixel, no ghosting, no issues at 165hz, just a bit of backlight bleed/IPS glow... This is how it looks like (see attachement). Don't forget that camera makes it worse, and also that this is taken in a dark room at 50% brightness, when my lights are on (they usually are, unless I watch movies), it's a lot less noticeable, but still noticeable if I'm looking for it. In daily usage it's not that bad, but I'm just a bit sad that dark images look "washed out" (greyish borders instead of a perfect black). I'll try to forget about it and get used to it. I don't really want to deal with 2 or 3 replacements until I get a decent one, but I'd like to get your input on this. Do you think this is above normal ? Thanks
  18. (just a follow up) EVGA's tech support says the noise isn't dangerous in any way. They say it's fine and I can always contact them to RMA if the noise gets louder.
  19. Hello again, here is another clue: the noise stops at the second my PSU turns off (it clicks). So, the fan is probably still spinning but the sound stops instantly. It does not continue when the computer is off but the PSU is still plugged in. Could it simply be the noise of a electrical component in the PSU, or just some form of coil whine? Also on the picture you can see a piece of plastic in the PSU, maybe it’s that thing that resonates/vibrates from case vibrations or something else?
  20. I'll just keep it for a few weeks and RMA it I think, unless it's urgent I'll wait for the new one. My last one had a very similar noise and lasted years
  21. No it doesn't. The noise doesn't increase under load and seems to stay constant
  22. I don't really want to insert any object inside my PSU while it's running tbh I keep listening every 30 minutes/hour to see if the noise doesn't intensifies, for now it's ok
  23. I think I'll definitely ask them for a advanced RMA if it's RMA worthy. Just a 1$ fee on my account and I got a new PSU with no downtime. Might as well ask them to upgrade me to a G3 if they accept it since it's just a 10$ difference that I'm totally willing to pay, but I doubt they'll. As long as my new PSU doesn't have this issue and has less coil whine I'll be in heaven tbh
  24. Thank you! I don't think it's loud, fan wise I don't hear a thing. It's just this noise that's annoying on idle, when under load it's drowned in coil whine lol
  25. Used it for the whole weekend and it seemed fine. If I RMA it I'll probably have to wait a week or more for the replacement to arrive. Are you telling me I'll have to stop using it in the meantime? Why?
