  1. So I have a phanteks Evolv X as well and want to modify the front and top panel (2-3mm aluminium). I'll have a company cut the panels with a CNC machine, but the edges will be bare aluminium. I want to paint the edges yellow. So I can't just spray the whole panel with the self etching primer, I would remove the black paint, right? In theory I could use a little brush to spread the primer along the edge and paint it afterwards with the desired color?
  2. Himmelfahrt? Vatertag! I can confirm, some cables have a smaller diameter then others.
  3. On the picture you can clearly see the mentioned 8 and 20 pin connector, the quote from Corsair might be true for be quiet as well. I sleeved two 24pin cables and I noticed the pins were not 100% the same, seems to me you can mix up the different lines as long as you stay in the same voltage category. Wish you good luck with your sleeving work, can you post a picture of the finished cables? (expecially interested how you´ll do the 24pin)
  4. No idea, if they will give you the pinout, but usually their support is pretty helpful, at least here in Germany. Maybe it helps: https://www.modders-inc.com/power-supply-pinout-repository/2/ there are some pinouts, maybe its identical to the powerzone PSU. edit: had a look at the back of a straight power PSU, looks the same as a powerzone. Had a look in the manual, there is no pinout for the PSU, but I have a Powerzone PSU and not a straight power. If both doesn´t work, you can start at the 24 pin ATX and go back to the PSU. The be quiet PSU have really weird cables, if you really want to have perfection, I´d not go for a be quiet unit. Their 24pin ATX splits into two connectors at the end, 1x8 and 1x20 pin. The cables cross each other and four cables do merge together. You´ll always have a mess with the cables at the end. Included a photo of my first try, I redid the whole thing later with a set of new cables.
  5. @TVwazhere Nice suggestions ? Sadly, I dont really like the three cases in terms of styling, I will probably stick with the phanteks and cut a few air holes in the front and top panel.
  6. Hello, a while ago I owned a In Win D Frame and I really loved the 90 degree rotated mainboard, it was awesome, plug something in without moving the case. Sadly the USB Port broke and I had to send it back. Afterwards I got myself a Phanteks Evolv ATX TG, a nice case, good looking and I have it for about two years at the moment. I dislike two things about it: no rotated mainboard and the temps are outright bad. Sadly, I didnt find any decent looking case with rotated mainbaord. The only decent-ish case I found is the AZZA Optima 803, but it cant fit a 360 rad. Some other cases rotate the mainboard as well, but they block off the access to the I/O. The Case should have a rotated (atx) mainboard with direct access to the ports, enough room for a Zotac AMP extreme, space for at least one 360mm+reservoir and custom sleeved cables. I do not need any 5,25" or 3,5" bay, but I have to fit 2 SSDs. Perhaps you have any suggestions? I thought about a benchtable and placing it next to me instead of on the floor, but I don´t know any benchtable which can fit a 360rad... (yeah, I am a little pessimistic about finding a case with rotated mainbaord, so I have to look for alternatives...) If possible it should be 200€ max (~223USD or ~300CAD). greetings Dessy
  7. Hello, I'm looking for a smartwatch, but I can't decide, maybe you can help me? What do I plan on using it for? - monitoring heart rate - view and answer whatsapp messages - perhaps calendar functions - activity tracking like running or cycling Where is the problem? Well, wear OS or Tizen? Tizen only has one option at the moment: Samsung Galaxy watch. But I don't really like the looks of it. There are some good-looking watches out there with wear OS, but I've read quite some negative things about wear OS: having trouble with notifications or the fittnesspart not being so refined. In particular, I had a look at misfits vador 2, and Skagon Falster. I plan on using it with my Sony Z5. Any opinions, especially on the three mentioned watches and the differences between wear OS and Tizen? Greetings Dessy
  8. Good, so mainboard is set, i like the bluetooth quite well, sadly the E is 40€ more (~20% more). So, Dark rock pro 4, good, hope the RAM fits... @zando Bob Nice collection!
  9. Thats not quiet enough... Right now, no fan is spinning while browsing the internet, so, dark rock pro 4 or dark rock 4? What do you think about the ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E?
  10. Yep... What do you think about ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING or ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING? Pretty much the same price. Any opinions on the AiO? Do they have loud pumps or not? I have not heard one in person, so I wont be able to decide....

  12. Hello guys, I won a 8086k at intels sweepstake and it finally got delivered. Now I am wondering what to do with it. My current configuration: i5 6600k Z170 ASUS extreme (my old mainboard broke and i bought this as a replacement, was around 70€ and i was curious if it would have been worth the premium [Note: bluetooth is nice, as well as the QLED] 1070 GTX Zotac AMP extreme 1440p screen 16GB DDR4 250GB of M2 (boot drive) 2x 250GB SSD -> 500GB RAID0 750W PSU Powerzone Be quiet topflow air cooler Main questions: 1) Wait for Z390 or go for a Z370? As far as i get it, the Z390 doesnt really have a edge over the Z370. If Z370 - any recommendations, prefferable ASUS? 2) I definitly want to swap the cooler. I thought about an AiO (360mm or 240mm), but I have concerns about the noise, the pump is running all the time, right? An alternative would be a big air cooler like dark rock pro 4. Any experience, especially be quiet silent loop? Greetings Dessy edit: dang, wrong section, can someone move it to new builds and planning?
