    run a psu test
make sure front panel stuff is plugged in properly
make sure every connector is in the right place
try using a new motherboard if you have the option

Or just replace the CPU can with a Noctua one. Doesn't hurt to add another one. 😉

Since they're 500w, yes, they all in theory can support it, but the quality of some of those is not good. See how they rank on this list

the 3800x is not worth the extra money compared to the 3700x in my opinion. As for deciding between the 3700x and 3900x, it mostly comes down to your budget, and what you're gonna do w the pc. Both are great chips, but do you really need the extra power of the 3900x for the increase in price? From what you've listed, I would say it isn't, and you should focus the money on more ram or storage if you're gonna have videos on your computer. There is also the ryzen 4000 series, which is supposed to come out in October, if you can wait for that

    🥱
Seriously though, this chipset is beyond boring. Kind of odd they chose not to make it compatible with the G series CPUs, seeing as they're what most people would likely want to use on something like this.

Build looks good, the one @Oswin came up with is also another way to go, if you don't mind the iffy AMD drivers from time to time.
Personally I'd stick to Nvidia, but each to their own.

He won't really save much money by waiting; the lower tier cards come out a few months after the top tier ones. The new CPUs will launch at a slightly higher price, and frankly the gain isn't really worth the added cost.

There's no point in planning it right now if you wont have the money for 4-6 months. By then, AMD's new GPU and CPU line up will be released, and who knows what Intel will announce

Very awesome! I haven't had a chance to watch the videos you posted but thanks for the update. I never would have guessed it was a GPU driver issue so good thinking there! Also glad to see you got QSV working, it's not the best option but it's not bad either.

Yo, don't know if you care anymore or not lmao, but I did a rollback on the GPUs drives through the windows display settings, and then reupdated it, and that fixed the issue. I also enabled QSV for streaming, and I feel like that improved performance too

Wait for Zen 2, their 12 core 24 thread mainstream cpu will be pretty amazing. Especially considering it can reach 4.5Ghz on all cores at 1.35v

As someone who owns a 9600k, get the 2700x. They perform nearly identical in gaming, with the 9600k producing more, but the 8 cores and 16 threads is definitely better

lmeneses reacted to maartendc in Is my GPU faulty?
Could be a sign of the GPU starting to fail, but it is strange that it only happens after sleeping the PC.

I would say reinstall the latest drivers see if that helps. Install latest drivers for your motherboard chipset, etc. as well.

If your laptop has both a dedicated (Nvidia or AMD) and integrated (iGPU on the Intel CPU) graphics cards, it might be having trouble switching between dedicated and integrated graphics during wake-up from sleep or something like that. A driver update or reinstall, or reinstalling windows, might help solve that.

lmeneses reacted to APasz in Is my GPU faulty?
I'd say there is something wrong with the gpu but it's not hardware related, rather there is something going wrong during the sleep cycle.
I suggest validating OS integrity by opening an admin cmd prompt. Run [8/8.1/10 only] 'DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth', then run 'sfc /scannow'.
Also ddu your gfx driver and reinstall it.

lmeneses reacted to aisle9 in you guys think this a good PC
The DS3H is a really, really iffy board. There's no reason to pay that much for any SATA SSD these days, now that M.2 500GB drives are coming down so quickly. Consider something like a CX550 instead of the PSU you have selected there.

When I Googled it I saw that the i5-9600k has QSV support, are you not seeing the option in OBS? AMD's hardware encoder is called VCE but OBS just calls it AMD so I should have used that name. As for the rest of your settings, are you only gaming at 720p? With you specs you should be running at 1080p (but scaling down to 720p makes sense at 3500 bit rate).

My advice is play around with the settings and record videos locally (with "Same as stream" selected) instead of streaming to get an idea of what kind of quality you can expect while streaming. Let us know if the frame drop improves with AMD's hardware encoding, if not then there's a bigger underlying issue.

I'm starting to think there's something wrong with your PC or I severely over estimated Intel's performance if you can only run Apex Legends at 720p low settings. Prior to my current gaming PC I was using an Ryzen 1600 and a stock RX 480 and the gaming experience wasn't much better when I upgraded to a Ryzen 1700 and a GTX 1080 so your 6-core Intel and overclocked RX 480 should be able to handle most AAA titles at 1080p still.

Ok, I have hard time believing that my 6yo i7 is still beating your current gen i5. I mean using same bitrate and testing with Overwatch, I hardly get 20% usage. So, if this same issue is regardless of what you are doing, then I'm starting to agree that your encoding really is issue.
