this is a 2000$ PC that ive built and this problem only started occurring after a move. any ideas are appreciated.
Recently I have moved to Dallas, TX from Canada. Before my PC operated amazingly, I was constantly enjoying games at the highest settings, editing my photos with ease and I always was able to kick back and enjoy some YouTube.
But since my move to Dallas, things have changed. My PC seems to slowly be dying on me and honestly I don't even know where to start to diagnose the problem. It all started when I finally got my PC setup after the move. About a week after we got in the house because our ISP decided to wait forever to install for us. I found there to be no point of setting up my PC if I couldn't do anything with it. Finally they set up my internet and I setup my PC. I actually realized I did not have a Ethernet cable long enough to connect my router to my PC comfortably and that my motherboard's on board LAN has no wireless features, but I have a wireless laptop beside it. So I Jerry rigged a way for my laptop to Ethernet tether to my PC until I could drill a hole through the wall to connect it. This funny enough was the best internet ive had so far.
This is when the problems started, when I finally hooked my PC up to the router directly. First problem happens weirdly ONLY when i'm watching you tube. It hasn't happened once when playing any video game, or browsing Reddit. What happens is that my PC loses internet, even though its wired. it displays (No Internet) with a yellow error sign as if my computer was not receiving data from my router. But for some odd reason using Net-gear genie fixes the problem in seconds. looking at the net-gear genie logs shows that all its doing is turning on my LAN adapter on my motherboard. (why is it even off)
This also is accompanied by 3 BSOD's and a weird but terrifying windows error. Basically when I shut down my PC, on occasion it restarts without me saying so. as if when the PC was turning off it crashed. causing the PC to try to restart. I have noticed as well when playing games like CSGO or over watch i'm getting lag spikes that previously never happened.
I have a couple of ideas in mind. Possibly a windows update? I heard of a couple horror stories of a recent update damaging my friends SSD. My worst fear is that my motherboard is dying on me but I have a gut feeling that it is something in OS.
any help is appreciated!
