Keeping the original boxes isn't really that much of a concern. Get a box that's the right size, and put the PC into it. Wrap it in quite a bit of bubble wrap. I'd also take out any components, like a video card, as they can strain the sockets if jostled around. Box them separately. You can buy these foam bag type things to shove into the case and make sure nothing moves around as well. I would also track down some pallet edge protectors, cut them down to fit the box, and placing them in each corner; it'll greatly help the structural integrity. Your box will be thrown about.

There's no real cheap way to send something to Denmark. If you live close to the border, I'd see if you can hop across and send it via USPS.

Not necessarily. If he's owned the items for more than 6 months he can import them free of any charge.

BLLDoesTech reacted to Adorable Cat in The PC I've been slowly upgrading for the last year
I finally cleaned up my desk so I could get some good pics of my PC as it is now, so I figured I'd make a post about how my PC has changed since I first made it. Enjoy (or don't whatever)

    Original -

Around this time last year, the laptop I'd been using for just about everything died (probably from being in the back of a car for a few hours when it was pretty far into the negatives, freedom units). It was pretty garbage, it had an A8 6410 APU with Radeon 5400 with R5 graphics, but 16Gb of RAM I'd upgraded and a 2Tb SSHD (that unfortunately also broke \:( ). I decided that instead of buying another laptop I'd build myself a PC with the goal of just making it better than my laptop, using just the money I could make doing chores and clearing snow. I'd just started watching LTT a couple months before and had gotten a few free PCs from the early 2000s, so I made this:

My beautiful re-use of my laptops 16Gb ->
(I later decided to spraypaint the front panel black, this was taken at my Dads place)

    Specs -
    Core i3 2120
    16Gb (2x8) SO-DIMMS from my laptop
    HP 8200 Elite Motherboard
    Stock intel cooler
shady used galax GTX650 i got for 30 bucks
500Gb Hard Drive I found in a closet
Another 500Gb Hard Drive (I got this one when I upgraded my laptops HDD)
    An old used OEM case
    1360x768 TV
    EVGA 400 watt PSU
    some TP-Link 2.4Ghz adapter.

I decided to get a cheap Mobo + CPU on Ebay, so I payed 60 bucks and got a Core i3 2120 + HP OEM mobo. The GPU was basically I sorted by price - Low-High on Ebay and found something that would still play at 720p low/med. All I needed were the 2 RAM adapters which were 16 bucks for the 2 pack and a PSU adapter cable and I had everything else (well I also needed to get a PSU because the one I'd pulled from one of my PCs I got for free decided to die. I waaay overpaid for what I got (400 watts, just 80+, not modular) but it shipped quick so I didn't care. I could finally play my steam library at most of the time over 30fps, even if I had to go to low settings. Felt real nice.

    First major upgrade -

It was toward the middle of the summer and I'd gotten some money ($200 amazon GC) from my Grandma, so I decided I wanted to do some upgrades to my PC. I hit amazon and got the following:
-Asus Strix GTX950 2Gb for like 90 bucks used
-Asus P8B75m- LE mobo for like $60 used
-120Gb PNY SSD, I'd never used a PC with an SSD before and I was totally blown away, I got it for like $20.

At first the new Mobo would just sit in it's box because I was still staying with my dad, and most of my extra PC parts were in another state with my mom. My stock intel cooler wasn't compatible with it. When I got back to my mom's after summer, I put it in with a really old stock CPU cooler that kind of fit, I tied it to the mobo with some old shoelace. I also put in an i5-3470 I'd gotten for free, but hadn't originally used because in the beginning I didn't understand chipsets and just assumed it'd work with my first mobo. Fortunately I held onto it, because at first I thought the CPU was broken. (also funny story, in the same bin I found the 3470 I found a 2nd gen i5 too, would have been nice to see that when I first was looking lol). My mom also got me a Hyper 212 Turbo LED as a late birthday present, so thx. I also found a 900p montor at a thrift store for really cheap, so that was nice to move away from 720p.
(sorry for this pics quality, I didn't take pics with my somewhat decent camera)
(my PC, with my cat in the foreground)

At first I couldn't get my Front panel audio to work (I had my mic sticking out of the front because I didn't have a combined input), so I just flipped the PC around and used the rear I/O. Later I realized why my Front Panel Audio wan't working, and just trailed an old FP audio thing out an open PCI hole so I could have my mic closer to my mouth. It looked like trash but I didn't really mind, I could play games at 40-50 FPS at 900p med/high, so I was happy... for a while...

    Current PC

Over a year of upgrading, my PC is finally something I can be proud of. When I got a job I was finally able to fuel this addiction with a steady source of income, instead of just whenever I could help with snow or whatever. It started when I got the best CPU I can have in my current mobo for Christmas (again, thx mom). She got me an i7 3770 for like 100 bucks used on ebay. I decided to go to a 500Gb Intel 545s SSD on sale for around $50 because my 120Gb one was filling up quickly, and a B-Stock 550 watt EVGA B3 fully modular PSU. And now that I had a better PSU and CPU, I figured I'd upgrade my GPU too, so I got a used mining RX580 4Gb on ebay, which was dead so instead I got a Gigabyte RX580 Gaming 8Gb for like 200. Around the same time I also found a 1080p Samsung monitor sitting in a corner, and was told I could have it for free. And then I decided it was also time to move beyond this garbage OEM HP case to something nicer and also MATX like my mobo, so I got a Thermaltake Core V21 mostly because it'd fit my cooler. And a few weeks ago I was wanting to get a bigger hard drive than this 500Gb one I found cleaning a closet, and instead got a 1Tb Intel 860QVO SSD for $120.
    The result:

    Current specs:
    Core i7 3770
    Asus P8B75M-LE Mobo
    Gigabyte RX580 Gaming 8G
    Still the 16Gb of DDR3 So-DIMMS
    500Gb Intel 545s SSD
    1Tb Samsung 860QVO SSD
    EVGA B3 550watt PSU
still the TPLINK 2.4Ghz PCI wireless card, because I don't have ethernet in my room.
    Thermaltake Core V21 case
some NZXT Airflow 140mm case fan
CM Hyper 212 Turbo LED (red)

I'm really happy to finally have a PC capable of high 1080p gaming, and (some) VR if I ever get a headset. I have the best PC out of anyone I know (although I don't know that many people), and am pleased with how it looks. Overall I'd say this isn't the most efficient or price effective way to build a PC at all, but it's been a great learning experience to go through so many different things, and being in situations I'd likely have never been in had I just bought everything normally and called it good.

For the future, I'm planning on moving to Ryzen once Zen 2 comes out, and the obvious GPU upgrade once every maybe year, but for now I'm good.

BLLDoesTech reacted to TheNaitsyrk in Red "The Beast" Build Log / 2014 - Present
    Hello there,

I decided to make a build log since I was upgrading like crazy since 2014.

I'll refine this more when I have time.

This is my pre-built system I bought in August of 2014.

It had 780 TI SLI in it OCed to 1163Mhz on each one.
4790K with DH14 air cooler at 4.8Ghz (Barely stable)
    Single 120GB SSD etc.

Upgrades to support 780 Ti SLI and OCed 4790K

This is how it looked after.

The motherboard I had is GA-Z87X OC FORCE with PLX chip so that 780 Ti at SLI can run at 16x and 16x speeds.

Then here's another image of that one from the inside:

It was lovely OCing this to about 1163Mhz.

In here I had to switch the case to something different and I was using an InWin GrOne case.
This is after I upgraded the PSU to a 1000W RM1000.
I also upgraded the cooler to H115i from Corsair.

I ran Heaven Benchmark to see the scores also.

I bought 4K 60Hz monitor as I wanted to utilise my 780 TI SLI to the fullest. I bought it for £320 in Late 2014 / 2015.

Surpsingly, Shadow of Mordor was running at about 80 - 90 FPS at 4K high!

My next upgrade was in 2016 when I sold my 780 Ti SLI and bought GT210 to have display output with my 6800K. Bought Rampage V used on E-Bay.

After this I decided I needed a new case.

Bought ThermalTake Core X5 Green Riing as it had lots of space and the motherboard was E-ATX.
The red spiraly bois were a bad idea.
Bought 500GB Samsung EVO 850 with The Division for free (which I actually played quite a bit)

However I liked how it looked at the time.

I was stuck with this until I upgraded to 1080 Ti. I was very patient waiting for a decent GPU.

I later installed 3000 RPM fan and I was wearing headphones to keep the GPU below 50C when gaming.

Then I decided to go SLI hybrids. I was missing SLI.
I was running 2700X at 4.2Ghz and 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrids SLI with Crosshair VI Hero. I had 1800X before that at 4.2Ghz (which was highest anyone could do on it anyway)

    At this point I also bought PG348Q 3440x1440 100hz monitor and PG279Q 165Hz 2560x1440 monitors.

I then decided to do "proper loop" with Phoenix MLC radiators and their convenient quick disconnects. Bought 3x 360mm and 1x 240mm.

In between this I decided to sell my 1080 Ti hybrids and go with 2080 Ti SLI.

Had all the blocks ready etc.

When I assembled it all, I also decided to buy Lian Li 011 AIR.

This was before I decided to water cool the GPUs.

This was when I water cooled it all.

360mm + 240mm but since I ran out of space (due to irregular size of Phoenix MLC) so I bought Thermaltake Core X9.

    In here I was running 360mm for 1st 2080 Ti, 2nd 360mm for 2nd 2080 Ti and 360mm + 240mm loop for just the CPU 9900K.

After 2 months of running it I decided to go full custom loop:

3x 480mm thickest radiators from EK etc.

And here is what I'm building now, it's not properly done yet but the loop works and the temps are insane.

Here are temps at full load:

When it's overclocked, temps go up to 45C on 1st GPU and 38C on the 2nd GPU when playing games / benchmarking. I can't remember the resolution but I believe it was 2560x1440, but unlimited FPS so it was pushed to the limit.

When I limit the FPS to 165Hz the 1st GPU is 42C max and 2nd one is max 36-37C. Although bubbles were still in the loop so later on the temps maximised and they were about 41c on 1st card and 47c on bottom card.

Fans are at around 900-1000 RPM.

I'll sort the thread out and update once PC looks nice and tidy.

Now running 9900K at 5.3Ghz, 2080 TI SLI at 2145Mhz OC on each and +1000 to memory, Z390 Aorus Master etc.

I then bought Dark Hero with 5950X but I hated it so much I sold it 2 weeks later on Facebook Marketplace.

With the help of @For Science! I managed to improve the temps and consistency of temperatures by changing the loop order from serial to parallel and changing the flow direction to hit GPUs 1st instead of CPU.

Then, when temps were about 41C on top card and 40c on the bottom card while running it at 5K (not overclocked). (Overclocked temps were more like 45c top and 47c bottom).

I wanted to push it to the limit of my case capacity and installed 2nd pump and 4th last rad from EK.

That dropped the temps from 41-40C to 34C-36C. I haven't tested it yet but I believe OC results will be in low low 40s.

I listed OC results in my signature of what the system is capable of, but OCing sees 0 improvements in games so I'm running stock until OC makes sense and gives me some extra FPS.

I was looking at the art of the LOTR movies the other day and got inspired by the Mordor design to build an ITX tower heavily inspired by it.

As of know, the theme of the build color wise will be most BLACK with red accents the fittings that will most likely get painted and aged. the front panel will be modded for added airflow for the top fan and the bottom Rad fans also allowing a bit of light shining through.

I'm also going to build custom cables for the motherboard and the GPU using paracord sleeving cables will be black and red.

    Parts for the build:
    AMD - Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7 GHz 8-Core Processor
    ASRock - AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard
    Corsair - Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
    Samsung Evo 970 plus NVME m.2 1TB
MSI - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB ARMOR Video Card
Phanteks - ENTHOO EVOLV SHIFT X Mini ITX Tower Case

    Corsair - SF 600 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply
    Corsair - LL120 RGB LED 43.25 CFM 120mm Fan x2
    Corsair - LL140 RGB LED 51.5 CFM 140mm Fan x2
    Corsair Commander PRO
    Corsair RGB Fan LED Hub
    Corsair Lighting Node PRO

    for the loop:
    EK-FC1080 GTX Ti TF6 - Acetal+Nickel
    Supremacy EVO
    EK-D5 res-pump combo
    EK-RES Tube 250mm
    EK 16mm Nickel Fittings
    Thermal Take Petg 16mm tubing
    EK Coolstream PE 240mm Rad
    EK Coolstream PE 120mm Rad
    EK Cryofuel Solid RED

updates coming soon with the first concept drawings, I will be documenting all the build with photos in this thread and finish it off with a full video. I will skip the usual product box and unboxing photos as this is not sponsored by anyone ? (though that would have been cool) and just go straight to the build.

BLLDoesTech reacted to David_Kwan in First PC build
So I have finished my first ever PC build and I have to say it was an amazing experience!
I find myself lucky that there were no major issues when building it.

Though there were some things that made me anxious. First I tried to do a test to see if the components were working.
First was the mobo, cpu and ram installed. But when I booted it up there was nothing showing on the screen. Then I went to look online and found out I was an idiot and that my 2600 has no graphics...

Since everything lit up and the cpu cooler worked I proceeded to test the system with the gpu installed. But when I tested it there was no signal on the monitor(using display port from gpu to monitor.).
So I kind of panicked a little and tried seeing if everything was in order. Nothing was wrong, cables all ok. So I just decided to boot it up again but this time having the Windows 10 USB installer plugged in.

And it worked! I don't know any technical reason as to why I wasn't getting anything on screen before so please let me know. (Driver issues?)

And after updating BIOS, installing Nvidia Drivers and having Windows Update handle the other drivers my PC was ready.

Did some overclocking of the gpu and got it to +70 core and +1000 memory. I think I can push it a little more but since I could play Destiny 2 and The Division 2 with no problems I'll just leave it as is for now.
Destiny 2 was played in Ultra settings and I got 144+fps.

All in all I am really glad I decided to build my own PC!

BLLDoesTech reacted to GoodBytes in Google fined €1.5 billion Euros in antitrust fine
Google has been fined by the EU 1.5 billion dollars over restrictive contracts it forced on customers who joined its AdSense platform. The AdSense platform let customers of the platform place a Google search box on their website. Then, when users used the search engine, Google showed them relevant ads and split the commission with the website’s owner. However, if they were use it, the website could not use another search bar, something that the company used to allow when they were not the dominant ad platform. So in other words, Google was able to go up the later thanks to other ad platform allowing alternative search system on a website, then now, once they reached the top, they block everyone.

This is the companies 3rd fine in a row. Last year, Google was fined €4.3 billion last year for abusing its market dominance in mobile space. and the year before that, they were fined €2.4 billion the year before that for manipulating shopping search results. These fines total €8.2 billion, or $9.3 billion US.
