  1. Hey there! I was just wondering if we were allowed to use LinusKappa as an emote in, say, a Discord server. Thanks
  2. Hey there! hardware list below A while ago I made a post on Reddit about having to power cycle my PC every time after shutting it off for the night, or I’d get no image. Just to get it out of the way: this PC has been running smoothly for about a year now and I haven’t changed any hardware except for a new SSD and new CPU and case fans (~2mo ago). Earlier today, this power cycle method just wasn’t working, so I used my brain and realized I should probably look at the mobo’s error readout, where I found the error 96 (PCI Bus Assign Resources). I immediately thought it could be the GPU, but doing some research I found that one of the things that could cause the error 96 is an incompatibility between the BIOS and my hardware. After trying a lot, I got into the BIOS by booting with the iGPU and ‘loaded optimized defaults’. At this point I seemed good to go, but when I tried booting again with my GPU, I got the very same error. I tried reseating the GPU, using different PCIe cables and a different PCIe slot, all to no avail. In one single instance I even got error 97 (Console Output Devices Connect), which to me just confirmed my GPU issue. Thinking I’d have to RMA the GPU (though I’m not sure I’m still covered, I still gotta check), I figured I’d try something just for kicks: I booted with the iGPU, got into Windows, and then switched my DP cable back to the GPU. It worked. My PC has been on without any issues for about an hour as of this writing, I even played a full match of Overwatch with no issues at all. The game and HWiNFO both recognize my GPU. Can anyone give some insight here? Clearly there is some issue pre-BIOS that is preventing some sort of resource assignment to my GPU, but getting into Windows solves it. Unfortunately, I can’t test with a different PSU/mobo/GPU, as I have no spare parts or another PC. Should I just go through with the potential RMA or do you guys and gals think something else would be more likely to be the issue? Thanks a lot! EDIT: Turns out it was a backdrive problem with my DP cable. Google that for more info, but basically I need a new DP cable!
